Lets talk more about Swamy's hateful spoutings through. Here's a glimpse from a tweet he shared today.

Him and Azam Khan should be locked together in jail and keys thrown away for eternity.

I am surprised for someone who claims to be well travelled abroad shares such examples to prove his point. Is the West one monolithic mass of society with uniform views? Do you aim to show by this example that all Westerners think like the MP mentioned and hence it validates Swamy's plainly regressive views?

You can find many different views in the West and of course in any country of the world. There are more liberals that accept the changing definitions of the culture of their countries like Britain than conservatives like Javid. If that wasn't the case then Chicken Tikka wouldn't have been the Brits favorite dish and they wouldn't have had Sikhs army men guarding Buckingham palace.

He is not an ordinary MP. He is Secretary Culture of Britain and just quoting the British government's policy. If Chicken Tikka and Sikh army men guarding Buckingham palace symbols of inclusiveness, then why not the Modi's beard ? By your logic scotch whisky drinking by Indians should also be a sign of inclusiveness . Large number of Hindus eating Chicken Biryani should also be taken as a sign of Islamic cultural acceptance.

What is wrong in this statement ? Mosques are routinely demolished in Saudi Arabia. Namaz can be offered anywhere and going to mosque is not mandatory.

Even prophet Mohamed demolished a mosque in his life time;

Very true and India will become a paradise the next day. We should start celebrations.

Right !

Looking at the present day political culture of the country, well entrenched vested interests will not easily allow space to changing the status quo of the polity of India, let whomsoever come to lead the Lok Sabha in the present dispensation of coalition era !

Irrespective of whether he is a MP, those views are his personal opinion. The British govt policy encourages multiculturalism and doesn't say Christianity is the state religion or preferred religion.

Modi beard? The Harappans had beard too. Chicken Biriyani is a dish of the sub-continent. Your examples are irrelevant.

If a similar statement would have been by a Muslim radical about a temple, one can imagine the brouhaha about it. The statement was in bad taste and inflammatory nature. But then one can expect that from Swamy.

Could you please explain what you meant there? The diplomacy and round about speak obfuscated any point that you were trying to make.

So It Turns Out That India’s ‘Bachelor’ Politician Is Technically Married

The man tipped to be India's next prime minister, BJP leader Narendra Modi, has finally admitted in an affidavit that he is officially married — but estranged. He had previously said he was single and without family ties

Controversial politician Narendra Modi, the favorite to be the next Indian prime minister, has acknowledged for the first time that he is married, confirming long-running rumors.

Many thought that BJP leader had remained alone his adult life, having come through the ranks of a grassroots Hindu nationalist organization that requires a vow of celibacy.

Previous media reports suggested he walked away from an arranged marriage when just a child, but this has never been confirmed by the ascetic 63-year-old, who would frequently extoll the merits of his single status during stump speeches.

“I have no family ties, I am single. Who will I be corrupt for?” he saidduring campaigning in February.

But as he filed papers Wednesday, to stand as a MP for western Gujarat state’s Vadadora constituency, he finally acknowledged, in an affidavit, that he had a wife.
Rumors had been circulating for years that a 62-year-old retired school teacher in Gujurat, Jashodaben, had been married to Modi. A magazine tracked her down in 2009 but she refused to give speak to them. However, she finally gave an interview in February and confirmed that the couple separated three years into their marriage — at the ages of 17 and 18 respectively — and since then “we have never been in touch.”

The revelation was quickly seized upon by senior opposition figures, including Congress Party general secretary Digvijaya Singh.
Modi accepts his Marital Status. Can Women of this Country trust a Man who stalks a woman, deprives his wife of her right? Vote against Modi
— digvijaya singh (@digvijaya_28) April 10, 2014

Singh’s reference to “stalking” pertains to a 2009 controversy in which a female architect was put under surveillance — allegedly on the orders of Modi.
Meanwhile, Sonia Gandhi, president of the ruling Congress Party, launched a scathing attack on Modi Wednesday, accusing him of presenting a false image of Gujarat, India’s most developed state, where he is chief minister.

“Some people are talking of themselves in a big way. It is an old habit. They are projecting an image as if Gujarat is the only state that has developed,” Sonia said at a rally in this south Karnataka town bordering Andhra Pradesh, according to Indian Express. “It is another matter that the poor have made sacrifices for this development.”

More than 814 million Indians will vote over the coming five weeks, with parts of 14 states and the capital New Delhi currently casting ballots. Analysts say these may be the most important polls in four decades.

It is crystal clear that elite politicians and bureaucracy do not allow change in the present polity. Even if any political party or some politician wants, the meagre majority managed by cobbling together of various parties and groups does not permit that change to take place. So do not expect much upheaval by dislodging one set of parties by another as all represent elite and as proverb goes: birds of the same flock fly together.

Muslims make such statements everyday. Most of their leaders question the very existence of Lord Rama and make jokes about his birth place. How many proofs do you want me to quote?

Same applies to Rahul bhakts and all other political bhakts. As per Hindu belief no single deity has all the powers. What Lord Shiva can offer, Lord Vishnu can not. By that analogy, we Modi bhakts believe that he can lead India under present domestic and international conditions. We don't care whether he is married or unmarried or separated. We will support his as long as he works honestly and sincerely for the betterment of India.

He's forgetting Owaisi's speech.

Not just Owaisi, there are many like him who question Rama and his birth. Pseudo-seculars have no problem with Hussain painting Sita nude. Pseudo seculars think that only Muslims have emotions and Hindus should be devoid of all type of feelings. No person has been bashed in media so much as Modi. Media forgets that man in street is smarter than these Karan Thapars, Sagrika Ghoses and Arnav Goswamis.

And Togadias, Singhals, Swamy's etc....

You surveyed them? Don't talk about exceptions as norms. Religious nuts flare feelings in every Hindu and Muslim for political purposes.

That is why someone outside the mainstream political process can make a difference. Clue in Medha Patkar's FB status below.

I was listening to a debate on TV and senior journo concluded, " Modi the Fenku has peaked"!
Gujrat Model, Gujrat Development all hyped and farce!
I have lived in Gujrat for a year in early eighties and it had better infrastructure than any other state even at that time!
Here is another point of view that belies Bodi's claims:

Gujarat's development pre-dates Modi considerably
