What a shame.....our country is a real soft target for terrorist activities. Our politicians are more busy in counting numbers and switiching loyalties, while our countrymen suffer in silence. When will we learn the NATIONAL PRIDE and the Need of a solid security. If things go on this way and terrorism does not get tackled professionally.........we will stay as third rate nation. What say the worthy members?

yes absolutely rite ,if dis continues then our country vll b ruined, these attacts shud work as eye-opener 4 our politicians who r busy with their unimportant tasks. The ppl who suffered due 2 dis r mostly common ppl not d politicians n destruction is also of public property not d personal property of these politicians.I think these politicians r themselves involvd in these type of incidents otherwise they wud hav also suffered.
These r my personal views may b incorrect ,giv ur views.

this will happen now and then and will ......

i think i am very abrupt person but i think that only solution with india is digitally map all the roads and stores data of every 10 min and wipe it when no blasts occurs ... and stops deleting of area around 10 km ... when blasts is there.. any suspect shd be hanged immediately if any video footage proved that ....
else i think every now and then there will be discussions .... and no solution ... till that i dont think india as a country cannot much improve....

i think no country has been able to do that ... but these kind of solutions can work for INDIA in other words no solution when such a huge population lives there and its very difficult to monitor also who is who ....

i think its not a fault of politician or any body ...there are people with different mentalities and as inside of any thing cannot be seen so i think better is to monitor them from roads ....

INDIA is a land of discussion whereas i have feeling .. may be i am wrong ... every country has problems but other countries define the problem and starts working on the solution ... but india problem is kept on being discussed again and again ....

Home > Nation Ahmedabad blasts: 30 suspects held; terror e-mail traced to Mumbai

The Ahmedabad Crime Branch, which is investigating the deadly blasts, has detained around 30 people in connection with the terror attack. Preliminary investigations suggest the use of ammonium nitrate in the blasts. The investigators are also looking at the possible use of cylinders.

Meanwhile, an e-mail sent to several media groups, just minutes before the serial blasts, by the Indian Mujahideen terror group has been traced to a flat in Navi Mumbai.

The police have raided the flat and seized computer hard disks. The owner of the house, Abhishek Sharma, is being interrogated.

The Union Home Ministry said the Indian Mujahideen group needs to be probed further as it is the same outfit which had sent a threat e-mail claiming responsibility for the Jaipur blasts.

The low-intensity blasts occurred at 16 crowded areas including market places in the Gujarat city in a span of 60 to 70 minutes. The first blast took place at Chief Minister Narendra Modi’s Maninagar constituency at 6:45 pm. Maninagar was rocked by a total of three blasts, while the other explosions took place at Isanpur, Narol Circle, Bapunagar, Hatkeshwar, Sarangpur Bridge, Sarkhej, Odhav, Sardar Patel Market, Civil Hospital, Juhapura, Ambur Tower building, Raipur and Gowribhadi.

Two of the 16 blasts went off inside the premises of the civil and LG hospitals where several victims of the explosions were rushed to.

“The blasts were of low intensity and similar to those which hit Bangalore,” Union Minister of State for Home Sriprakash Jaiswal told reporters.

A nationwide terror alert has already been sounded. Union Home Minister Shivraj Patil has convened a high-level meeting at 11:00 am today to review the security situation in the country following the two successive serial blasts in Bangalore and Ahmedabad.

Police sources said the bombs in Ahmedabad were planted on bicycles and in tiffin boxes.

CRPF, RAF and NSG have been deployed in sensitive areas of the city.

The blasts primarily took place in the eastern part of Ahmedabad, where upper middle class people reside.

I agree and pray with you Deeppi...............God please punish these Rascals in worst possible manner......Let them rot in hell for eternity.

I think sometime, what will happen to our country?? we need to be united and take charge in our hands from these bastard politicians...

May be the central government will pass a new bill in parliament stating 50% of the total geographical area is reserved to be hit by terrorists.

I don't feel there is anything wrong in the statement issued by US that India is not capable of takling terrorism, which these politicians sees as anti India statement....here is the proof ....blasts every now and then....

City of resilience.

After a series of blast, Ahmedabad vows to be back on its feet again

Ours is an essentially tragic age but we refuse to live tragically.
The opening sentence of the once banned novel Lady Chatterley's Lover might have been written in a different context. But in today's context, it's so very relevant when we see death and destruction around us.
Ahmedabad has seen too many tragedies in the recent past. And if the city witnessed the country's worst earthquake on January 26, 2001, on saturday, July 26 Ahmedabad witnessed 17 serial blast resulting in death and injury. But the city lives upto its spirit of resilience and its citizens invincible will to carry on further.
This is one weekend Ahmedabad would like to forget. On Sunday morning the city wore asombre look. The hushed silence in the air could be felt more intensely on the eastern side of the city which bore the brunt of senseless attack. But at the same time, one can not help but notice the will to get back to life. To fight back and put up a brave front. To lend a helping hand to the needy. To share a loss. To wipe a tear.

When "108' was dialled and 61 were saved..

AHMEDABAD: In the midst of the bloodshed on Saturday, the one lifeline on wheels that politely took calls and rushed aid was the '108' emergency ambulance service run by the Emergency Management and Research Institute (EMRI).

On Saturday after the serial blasts, it managed to save 61 lives by providing medical assistance and first aid to the blast victims and got them admitted to 13 different hospitals and medical facilities in the city.

The first call came in at 6.30 in the evening from Maninagar and the first ambulance was dispatched to the scene of the blast. Thereafter, as news of the serial blasts came in, more ambulances were deployed along with medical teams.

In fact, one such team comprising Dr Parthasarthy, Dr Sawant, Jaimin Naik and operations executive of EMRI, Dhimesh Upadhyay were critically injured in the second blast at civil hospital.

After shifting the patient brought in by their ambulance into the trauma centre, they were assisting another patient brought in by another ambulance when the blast happened near the spot. All four are currently being provided treatment in the ICU at Apollo hospital.

"The emergency response control room got news from our field units that people are not being able to call. Thereafter apart from whatever calls were coming in on 108, as soon as news came in that there has been a blast in a particular place, without waiting for a call we dispatched our ambulance there," says Amit Desai of EMRI.

Apart from the 15 ambulances stationed in the city to tackle the crisis, considering the enormity of the situation, ambulances from other places were called in. The ambulances from Gandhinagar, Dholka, Bavla and Kheda along with two new ones that were to be deployed from Monday were pressed into service. Apart from bringing in victims from the blast scene to the hospitals, the 108 ambulances were also used to shift patients from one medical facility to another.

Some points we need to think at1) Do we require some central agency for national security ??2) Some law ??3) According to international standard , work force for preventing crimes is less in india , Do we need to increase that ??4) Cental and state intelligence agencies arent getting any information , Do we need to raise there standard of working ??

While we criticize intelligence agencies and security system for the ever spreading terrorist network through out the country we as a citizen also should take the blame of this distorted situation. We talk about strict law to tackle the terrorism but do we ever adhere to the existing laws which all are very much there for the security and welfare of the citizen in one or two ways.

Almost every Indian take pride in defying the law and understand his duty over just in blaming the politician and police for ever lapse in security.

It is very difficult for the security forces to keep a tight vigil in highly crowded cities, and above it our uncooperative attitude creates more problems thereby leaving hardly few options for the security forces to establish a responsive security system.

So come on, have some sense of responsibility and show some faith in our security forces.

Well, Security Agencies & Intelligence system of our country has failed miserably, they proved to be big time looser!! I dont know whether they're not getting support from Govts or Govt isnt allowing them to work freely .. whatever but result is out .... I dont wanna play a blame game here but fact is fact .... look at USA, after 9/11 attack, not a single terrorist activity has been noted and thats indeed commendable and here in India every month New Attack at New City and hundreds of innocent ppl loose their lives!!

What's the final fact? India Govt & Security System are loosers!!

Rock on
Jit

Lets not forget who is responsible for this..... Pakistan's ISI.
They don't even need to investigate. Case closed.

Sid bhai 100% agree ...All we know that pak is responsible for all that...

Every time when this type of acts happen Only pak was responsible for that . Indian govt. know every thing but can't do nothing because govt. is following the paths of Mahatma ghandi. Pak is nothing in compare to India but we can't touch the borders of that country. In kargil our thousands of soldiers have Sacrifice and become martyar. But govt. don't have courage to cross the loc for sake of democracy. The politicians mostly crossed the age of 50 have no mind to take decision. They just want to earn money by any means. So there is no effect on politicions that we are losting our soldiers , our peoples, or our future of country....:mad:

dear dev bhaisaheb,

on yr. abv subject of thread...i wud like to bring 2 perspectives of our fellow members...here is perspective no. 1, (# post 11), picked up from:

I tried refraining from the thread , but only have one simple query and was probably thinking to start a thread.

Why do we guys always seem to have a problem ? And if we have so why do we always keep harping on the problem? Do we ever look beyond the solution.
...
...
Everybody here is intelligent enough to comprehend that yes , the situation is not great!

No offence to the author of thread ( I kind of tend to be in opposite camp to him for nothing )
...
...
And please if we dont make such efforts , we dont have any right whatsoever to cribb on it.

here is perspective no. 2, (# post 9), picked up from:

Historic journeys begin with a small and single step. With this philosophy/orientation in mind, I and people like me post their threads on JL on issues concerning the community. There are various common and shared motives for posting these threads, the primary ones being - spreading awareness within the community, coming in touch with like minded community members who in future would be fighting alongside shoulder to shoulder in the interest of the community, exploring the various possible options to overcome the challenges etc.

I have been and am at present spreading awareness among the community members and aquantances whom I am able to reach on a day to day basis, and towards this endeavour am also taking the help of JL. In fact, the onus lies on all of us to take the various burning issues to our villages and towns in whatever capacity and to whatever extent we can. As I mentioned in one of my previous threads, the might of the people if they come together is unmatched and unsurpassable. If we come together we can in fact make mountains move. It's little unfortunate that we have a few of our community members who oppose the majority viewpoint even if it is in the long term interest of the community. However, these are minor irritants as we have much bigger challenges to overcome in the near future.
