Thanks a lot vijay for but the original ques is still unanswered..

Do other religion believes in isssues like MAANGLIKTA aur its just specific to hindus only..Indias has lots of muslims but we never heard any case related to such kind of practices nor even about christans etc..Can you provide some details about their similar practices.

Its only the Hindus who believe in horoscopes. US and European univ do make research and study on such issues but majority of times they condemn the Indian practices and come up with their of scientific explanations.

Every religion on planet earth believe in occult sciences ( ... depends person to person ). Muslim practice more occult methods then any other religions.

Western countries dwell on this more than us Indians. Just try to search on google that how many US and Europen Universities have included Astrology as a subject for study and research. Online and offline communities on astrology are much more than that of Astronomy and ET life.

Astrology is the oldest science which is still in practice and will be forever.. thanx to the western interest. Indians are pretending to neglect it just to show that they are modern and intellectuals... common feeling is that if they accept their belief in Astrology they might be labelled as backward or orthodox ..... but deep down almost everybody believe in this.

It's pity that we are trying our best to throw away our so rich and oldest culture along with scientifically proved methods while western countries are doing research on them.

We invented zero, decimal system but it were western people who adopted them and are counting everything. We told the world about the stars and universe and they are travelling in space. We told them about Yoga and meditation and nowdays western Yoga experts are guiding us. Like wise Astrology evolved from India and world's most famous authers of Astrology, palmistry books are from US and Europe. No need to pointing out that where from Keiro, Linda Goodman, Nostradamus etc. etc. belonged to.

Astrology among Muslims !

Thanks a lot vijay for but the original ques is still unanswered..

The main principles of Islamic astrology were inherited from the Babylonian and Greek cultures, and were made relevant to Muslim scholars because of the spiritual relationship, as interpreted from the Qu'ran, between the celestial bodies and the heavens, and man and the earth. Each of the signs of the zodiac was thought to govern certain aspects of earthly life. They were not only related to people, but also the seasons of the year, the weather, and agriculture, and different branches of astronomy developed among Muslim scholars to deal with the diverse subjects of astrology.

Quraan says that Astrology is a science, for which the Arabic word is 'Hikmaah' which practice has always been encouraged in Quran.

Religions other than Hindus also believe that 'mantra' means something. People practice them in real life both for gud and bad purpose. Mantra generally refers to different verses from their scriptures, as vedas verses called 'Mantras' likewise Quran's verses are called, 'ayaats'.

Muslims know and do believe that Allah told to do seven types of things in seven days. Prophet Muhammad told that seven types of works are blessed to do in seven days. And this seven works in seven days exactly matches with our Indian astrology. In Indian astrology we know that seven main planets own seven days of a weak and each planet has it's own controlling areas. Check out the resembleness :

According to Quran :

01. Go hunting - on Saturday
02. Start building own house - on Sunday
03. Go on a journey - on Monday
04. Hair cut and shave - on Tuesday
05. Start taking medicine - on Wednesday
06. Activities related to prayer - on Thursday
07. Marry and make love to a have child - on Friday

Now, if we look at the very basic principle of Astrology, then the relation becomes very clear and obvious-

01. Death and cruelness - ruled by Saturn - Day: Saturday
02. Fame, establishment - ruled by Sun - Day: Sunday
03. Journey, travels - ruled by Moon - Day: Monday
04. Hair - ruled by Mars - Day: Tuesday
05. Chemistry, science, medicine - ruled by Mercury - Day: Wednesday
06. Religion and related acts - ruled by Jupiter - Day: Thursday
07. Marriage, sexuality - ruled by Venus - Day: Friday

Astrology in the Quran

There is a Surah in the Quran named Buruj. In Arabic the word 'Buruj' means 'Constellation' or 'Zodiac sign'. Surah Buruj is the 85th Surah in the Quran. The starting of the Surah is like-

"I swear by the sky where there are buruj..."
(Allah swears by the sky where there is zodiac signs.)

"I have created buruj (Zodiac signs) on the sky and decorated them for viewers and I have also protected them from evils..." (16th line of Surah Hizr)

"How great he is, who has created buruj in the sky and placed the Sun and shining Moon over there..." (61st line of Surah Furkan)

Buruj is an Arabic words means constellation or zodiac signs. In Arabic Astrology, we find that the sign Leo is named 'Asad Buruj'. 'Asad' means a lion thus the Arabic name of Leo, which is represented by a lion, is 'Asad Buruj'. Similarly, Libra is named, 'Meejan Buruj'. The Arabic word 'Meejan' means a balance - which represents Libra sign.

Famous Muslim Astrologers

Moghul Emperor Humaanyu was one of the great Astrologist.

Al-Biruni - Everyone knows about Muslim scientist Al-Biruni (973-1016) but does not know that he was the councilor astrologer of King Al-Mahmud, who regularly took his advices. Al-Biruni stayed in India for 12 years and learned this from Indians. He writes 'Kitab Al-Tafhim Li Awail Sina-at Al Tanjim', it was translated in to English by R. Ramsay Wright later. In this book Al-Biruni begins with geometry, arithmetic, astronomy, geography, astrolabe and then goes to the discussion of astrology.

Omar Khayyam - Omar Khayyam (1019-1135) was a famous poet but he was an astrologer of Khorasan. Omar was so perfect in his prediction that he even understood about his own death. He fasted on the day of his death, and when he was saying his prayer he said to Allah, "Oh Allah! I wanted you as best as I could. I beg that I should never be neglected from your kind." that was his life's last sentence.

Musa Al-Khwarizmi - The Muslim scientist Abu Abdullah Ibn Musa Al-Khwarizmi was the one who first developed algebra and trigonometry. The word algebra came from the name of his book 'Hisab Algibr Wa Al-Mukabila'. He created the ever first map of the world and gave the idea of seven continents. He also wrote many other books on mathematics, geography etc. He was very much devoted to astrology and translated the Indian classic Siddhant (by Mahaveer) from Sanskrit to Arabic. He also translated many other Indian classics for his research.

PS : Some content extracted from the Internet for discussion :) and 'yes' manglik issue will be discussed soon ... i am still studying that.

(2) What is right way to sleep.
(3) Who need to take precautions against Deep Water.
(4) Who need to take precautions against Fire.

juss tell me one thing bro... precautions lene se ye sab tal jaayega kya ???
agar kissi ki maut paani mein likhi hai aur precautions leta hai toh kya bach sakta hai ???? i don think so... jo hona hai woh hoga hi....
I love the movies... Final Destination 1,2,3
Juss enjoy this not for any resemblence to the subject... simply for thrill ...
and if seen then have it once more... i love the concept and seems feasible too.
lekin agar aap precautions karke bach saktein hai toh aapne toh bhagwaan ka likha hua bhi taal diya matlab hum bhagwaan ko bhi maat de saktein hai ???
precautions r juss an example ... same is applicable with all other beliefs

The Answers...

Dear All,

May I attempt to answer the questions, if you don't mind.

(1) What precautions students should take to increase concentration.

Ans: Just think about your parents and/or brothers and sisters who may have sacrificed the whole world for you to be able to study. Set aims and go for it. If a student can't do that, then, mere Bhai, padhaee likhayee ka koi faydaa nahin.

(2) What is right way to sleep.

Ans: Work hard, study hard, eat healthy and you will sleep well.

(3) Who need to take precautions against Deep Water.

Ans: All those who don't know how to swim or go towards deep waters without basic preparations.

(4) Who need to take precautions against Fire.

Ans: Everyone, for fire doesn't recognise cast, creed, sex or nationality.

(5) Who need to take precautions against Height.

Ans: Those working in construction business (high rises) without safety equipment.

(6) What's our negative point which we need to Overcome.

Ans: Just look inside your conscience and the answer is so clear.

(7) What are our lucky dates to take important decision.

Ans: As long as the earth is rotating with the speed with which it is, all moments are lucky, so said our great president Dr Abdul Kalam.

(8) Which occupation will suit someone w.r.t. astrology.

Ans: Question not understood.

(9) & most important...we must discuss "SOLUTIONS" rather than problems...we know we shall...

Ans: The more you think about the problem, nearer you would get to the solution - so said the great thinker & philosopher J Krishnamurty.

(10) What are the solutions to make Nuptial Knot everlasting w.r.t. Astrology...this is also very important for almost everyone on our own SNS JatLand

Ans: Respect your life partner in the true sense of the word. Make him/her feel special. Shed EGO and share each others load.

Warm regards,

JS Malik

(8) Which occupation will suit someone w.r.t. astrology.
The best occupation is what you want to do with enough determination.

(9) & most important...we must discuss "SOLUTIONS" rather than problems...we know we shall...
More important is that we must discuss the science rather then asking and telling the FUTURE.

(10) What are the solutions to make Nuptial Knot everlasting w.r.t. Astrology...this is also very important for almost everyone on our own SNS JatLand.
Give respect and you will get it back positively. Best solution so far.

Comon man grow up
If you are assuming me a fortune teller, than sorry to disappoint you.

I just want to say that it's a science and have significance in our lives. But what and how much is a matter of study/research.

Exactly !

One has to use his judgmental power in and every decision of life, and no science can help until we have a control over our 'five' senses ! Our five senses can make or mar us, and these are the keys to achieve anything possible or even impossible. The underlying idea is that we must take hold of our senses, keep them under control and eventually develop them each day to churn out productive results in anything ! Astrology is a good subject like any other subject and must be looked just as a tool which can lead good results if used sensibly and occasionally !

Who said there's nothing in common betn the 2?
Both were kings, highly learned, they fell for the same woman, fought stupid wars, were extremely egoistic and ultimately didnt know how to respect & treat women well. What say now? :(

Astrology plays of the fears of people and most astrologers are mathematicians and Pundits in the Indian system. I recollect when I was the Group Managing Director of an automobile company handling five brands like Honda Motors, Volkswagen, Audi, Skoda, Hyundai for Nigeria, there was a crisis with the chairman and he took the help of a jyotishi who really started playing around with group and fuelling the uncertainties of the chairman and getting his guys into the system. I immediately resigned and left the group. Ithas pado brahamano ne raj keiya hai, Kshatriya ko tu who sif ladne ke liya istamal karte rehe hai. Raja ke ghar mein ghus kar rishi muni unke bibi aur beti se sambandh rakhte thai.Bhaut katrnak ithas he hamara.

Why I illustrated this point is because as Napoleon said religion gives good stability to the social system and opposes any rebellion. It prevents the individual from realizing his true potential and astrology plays on the fears of people. Fear as the Gita says is the highest sin in the world.

Jato apani kismat apne hato se likho, is brahamnvad jo hame sadiyo ke gulam bane rakha hai ke jhangire thodo. Apne mein vishwas rakho and realize your true potential. Life is all about predicting the future accurately and this require planning and hard work not astrology. Astrology is big bull ****. Period

As Rousseau said man is born free but is in chains everywhere. These are the chains of the numbo jumbo astrology he was referring to.

Just like Shweta pointed - The lack of established principles & laws or concrete observations/citations & then gimmicks by self proclaimed maharaj's further mystify this already intriguing science. While I don’t wholly believe in it, I am quite interested in digging deeper into the subject!

I’m no scholar but my love for maths makes me believe that almost every phenomenon can be jotted down in an equation of some sort. Hence, I’m inclined that if such patterns can be identified and put into an equation, one can predict the outcomes and even influence it by manipulating the variables involved.

Reminds me of the beautiful script – “Final Destination” where they identify patterns (though non-mathematically) to understand death & try to cheat it. Similarly snips of “A Beautiful Mind” predicting the flight of a pigeon.

Coming to Astrology or associated sciences of Numerology, Palmistry, Face Reading, Handwriting Reading, Finger/Thumb printing (Nadi Astrology), Tarots etc – Albeit there possibly doesn’t exist a defined formula (may be yet) to put an equation, there definitely seem to be some fantastic studies of patterns of planetary movements, lines on the palms etc which if not explain or state for sure but tell in general behavioral and other patterns of life.

At the same time and often, I have observed that the predictions or forecasting is carefully done with an extremely generalized verbiage that if observed carefully they can be classified as “data” or “meta data” and then the beautiful human brain reads the circumstances and other influencing factors in such a manner that the individual begins interpreting the data into information fulfilling or relating to his individual needs.

Law’s of gravitation, escape velocity, etc were discovered only when we could sufficiently understand a phenomenon and derive an equation which gave accurate results. Today, we forecast weather, earthquakes, volcanic activities, spread of diseases, economy, stock market etc with significant accuracies simply because we’ve been able to create the equations around the observed patterns. Someday someone may develop an equation which will put to rest the mysteries of why Psychics can see the future but not predict it and likewise!

Coming back to the present, while I haven’t come across a scripture or living being who could guarantee his predictions with 100% accuracy, the fact that if we haven’t been able to comprehended it need not necessarily mean it is not possible, in itself is sufficient logic to intrigue me… and most of us alike!

I welcome your comments.

-Ashish
Time as seen from the linear perspective has a past present and future because we artificially compartmentalize time. The sum total of your past is your present and the sum total of your present will be your future. The nonlinear or the Indian view of time is that it is eternal; no beginning and no end. Therefore unlike Judaism, Christianity and Islam religions which predict a starting point of the world and an end, the Indian faith system does not put a beginning and an end. The sanathan dharma or eternal self. This is what the Gita and all the Vedas talk about, the eternity of the human soul. Today at the highest level all science and maths explore the nonlinear. Even in the art of Picasso and Dali it is the nonlinear which is emphasized. Art always precedes science. Even in the literature of Samuel Becket and James Joyce the novel is in a nonlinear format.

Someone asked here example of "manglik"...
Bhagwan Ram....sorry...maryada purshotaam Ram was "Manglik"...
