Dear All,
Turning out to be very interesting topic indeed. That's why I am writing another reply.
Drinking is an art and those who know how to drink properly cause no harm to the environment. OK, OK, I understand what doctors and scientiest say about drinks - Liver - BP - heart Diseases etc.
I was offered my first drink, a sip of beer, by my father when I was in 8th Class (1972). And after commissioning in the Army I took my first drink with my uncle (since I had lost my father in 1975). And I have been drinking regularly since 1980. In fact next year in the month of Jun I would be celebrating my 'Silver Jubilee Year'. Wow, 25 years of hassle free drinking.
Should write a book actually: DRINKING WITHOUT TEARS.
What I am trying to say may be releveant to the youngsters. Why hide anything from your parents and other elders? I also agree that one should not smoke in FRONT of elders but why hide the fact that you smoke and/or drink. I have a 19 year old son. I have taken a promise from him that his first drink or smoke has to be with me. He has assured me that he would keep my word. Point is why should you hide things from those who love you the maximum.
Sharab pina itna bura nahin hai jitna bura hai jhoot bolna, dhoka dena, chori karna, apne badoon ki izzat na karna vagera vagera.
