Dear Arjun:

I am youngest of 6 siblings, a doting bua to 13 adoring nephews and nieces. Some of them have kids as old as my son (14). Just to relieve your curiosity, I am proud mother of a 14 year old, but I don't think one has to be young or old to be addressed so affectionately (bua)! You are right, I am not a senior citizen, but lets keep my age a non-issue

With regard to the Bua designation on Jatland, well Pradeep Singh Rathee couldn't resist the urge to address me as bua because one of his aunts is married into Shokeen clan (my maiden name), thus rendering me his bua!

Gradually many others bestowed that honor upon me...and frankly I never hesitated being referred as one. I have come to love and respect this title! One of the reasons perhaps because when I was growing up as a kid, I missed having aunts and uncles, as my father was the only child.

PS: Did you know Anurag (Kadyan) has a bua, a mausi, a jiji, a chacha, a tau...I hope soon he finds a susra.... Hey Anurag, its not what you think....I mean...Father-in-law.
