Modi had a Jaiswal moment, but in Jaiswal's case it was not a personal attack and not a deliberate one but here things are different one. Forum was an election rally and comment was intentional one, a personal attack.

Would like to hear from elders and females on Jatland on Mr. Modi's comment of labeling Sunanda Pushkar as '50 Crore ki girlfriend'.

2 Days ago Narendra Modi said Sonia Gandhi does not understand the problems of woman as she has never even been to a kitchen(sexiest? definitely).

Here are 2 links to read/listen to: http://www.ndtv.com/video/player/left-right-centre/modi-vs-tharoor-a-new-campaign-low/252880?hp and http://www.ndtv.com/article/india/s...riend-comment-286206?pfrom=home-lateststories

Questions raised:

1) Is it fair to use such low level language in politics?
2) Is it fair to put names to apolitical relatives of politicians?
3) Are we blind enough to support any lame comment or we do discourage oppose such comments(specifically to supporters of Modi)?

P.S. cross questioning on Congress or any other party is discouraged, all the parties have stooped low when it comes to speaking at large. Let us keep the discussion on Modi and his sexiest and personal comment.

Questions raised:

1) Is it fair to use such low level language in politics? - No.

2) Is it fair to put names to apolitical relatives of politicians? ha ha ha.. maan ge sher.. Vadra ne defend karan me tu bhi paache na rahya.. bhai tanne pakka ticket milegi ib..Gadkari ki pol bhi Kejriwal ne e kholi thi je tere yaad ho to.. uspe to fatafut jaanch bitha di..chappe marwa diye.. par desh ke damaad tayi bina jaanch shuru kare "Clean chit"!! ha ha ha.. Doglapan to kaheen nahi hai bhai. Mujhe pata hai ki is argument ki kya counter questioning hogi - Baat uthegi Sri Prakash Jaiswal ke cross question ki, maine uska jawab pahle hi de diya. Though his comment wasnt as low as Modi's as it was not a personal attack.

Congress ki galat galat kahte ho, samajh aai aur main bhi kahta hu to Modi ki galat galat kyu nahi?

To understand love one dont need to marry 3 wives or husbands

Personal and non-sense remark, not at all... apni wife ko to sari public se saamne remark karne ke liye usi time la diya tha jab Parliament mai sab ke saamne "Mr. Kettle Class" refused to recognize her. Tab bechari ki abla-nari ki izzat ke bare mai kyon nahi socha uske Husband ne???

Further... this is what Mr. Kettle Class said abt his wife ""She is priceless. But you need2be able2love some1 2understand that" ... I wish Mr. Kettle Class ne aisa apni first wife ke liye aisa bola hota... But i dont thing it is love... 1 ladki se shadi ki... fir doosri se mulukat hui... pehli wali ko talak diya... doosri wali se shadi ki... fir teesri mili... fir parliament mai pehchana nahi... fir doosri wali ko talak diya taaki teesri ladki se shadi kar sake... fir 1 mahine baad teesri ladki se shadi ki... or jab tak chauthi nahi milti... teesri ladki uske liye priceless hai... this is not love, infact this is lust and ........ he is nothing but sexist...

But "Mr. Kettle Class" ne khud uski insult ki... or hadd to Sunanda Pushkar ne ki... ke vo ek aisi insaan ki biwi hai jisne doosri ke liye pehli ko devorce diya fir teesri ke liye doosri ko... or baad teesri ko pehchana bhi nahi... itni low self-esteem maine aaj tak kisi ki nahi dekhi...

I request all JL members please dont compare your wife with "Mrs. Kettle Class"... Even compare of one's wife with such "low self-esteem women", will be an insult of her. Or JL ki females bhi itni high self-esteem or itne respected character ki hain ki vo bhi apna comparison "Mrs. Kettle Class" ke saath karna pasand nahi karengi...

So please Mr. desi(whatever)... cut the crap...

Modi comment was in context of Sunanada Pushkar alleged corruption in IPL. It was not a personal attack.

However the lame people will criticize the Modi on the name of sanctity of womanhood just like you are doing.

If that would have been personal, Shash Throor would not have been thrown out of Cabinet 2 years back. There were serious allegations and which later proved what controversies he was involved with giving a high price as gifts to Sunanda pushkar and this was all done as in favor of Girl Friend and not as Wife as she was not married to him at that time.
Shashi Throor after being removed from ministry got married later to Sunanda pushkar. What is wrong when he didn't made an statement about her, is she a fiancée or Girl friend ? So anyone can expect it to be her GF.

Wife and GF of politicians keep doing corruption but no one can point finger on that and any person with normal IQ is expected to understand that Modi has pointed finger on the corruption done by him and his wife
What a wired logic high profile wives like Shunanda Pushkar and Louise Khurshid can keep doing corruption with PUBLIC (Tax payers) money and when pointed finger it becomes PERSONAL.

Corruption(in IPL) jo ki main issue hai uske bare mai to ab tak kisi ne nahi bola... na to Mr. Kettle Class ne, na Congress ne, na media ne or na hi Mr. desi-whatever ne... or uske opposite... sari kahani ko ek attack on "women's (all females of this world) dignity and respect" ka angle de ke sab ke saamne paros diya...

भावनाओ को समझो, शब्दों पे मत जाओ !! The issue is about an act of corruption and then shameless defense of that act by Shashi Tharoor by referring to Sunanda as a 'Just Friend'.

http://www.firstpost.com/politics/tharoor-may-have-won-verbal-battle-but-modi-prevails-in-political-war-508894.html

If the thrust and parry of political rhetoric were a schoolboy’s debate, then merely on the strength of his verbal flourish, Shashi Tharoor may be said to have won his exchange with Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modion Tuesday. In response to Modi’s taunt about a “Rs 50 crore girlfriend”, Tharoor responded to say that he considered his wife “priceless”, but suggested that only a man capable of the Grand Passion would understand that.
As political zingers go, it may have been pretty effective. And since even those who are not ill-disposed towards Modi have conceded that his turn of phrase in this instance – the reference to a “Rs 50 crore girlfriend” – was ill-chosen and insensitive to gender sensibilities, Modi appears, for the moment, to have yielded ground on this one.

But Tharoor’s efforts to milk this rhetorical victory for more may yet recoil on him. “It is not gentlemanly,” he said on Tuesday, “to talk about someone’s personal life.”

That’s true in a general sense, of course, but Tharoor’s personal life is being talked about today only because it intruded into the political-business domain in a manner that suggested that the woman to whom he was affianced in 2010 was the beneficiary of a ‘sweetheart deal’ in an IPL franchise venture to which he had lent his backing and, let’s not forget, his political influence.
Modi may have lost the verbal battle, but not the political war AFP

It was Tharoor’s failure then to keep his keep his personal life and his politics in separate, hermetically sealed compartments – in the manner that, one feels sure, even he would like anyone in public life to do – that created the circumstances that compelled him to resign. It also gave his party president Sonia Gandhigrounds to crow in front of the media (as she did here) that unlike the BJP, the Congress was proactive about asking those in its ranks who even faced the faintest taint of corruption – such as Shashi Tharoor – to resign.

It’s true, of course, that the harsh light of unkind publicity caused Sunanda Pushkar to renounce her ”sweat equity” rights in the IPL Kochi franchise that had come in for public scrutiny owing to her relationship with Tharoor. To that extent, yes, the ‘sweetheart deal’ was spiked. But far harder would it be to spike the suggestion that Tharoor, for all the suavity and unctuous charm that he oozes, put himself in a conflict-of-interest situation that compromised him politically. That says something about his flawed judgement, and is fair game to invoke on the political platform when he is readmitted to the Ministry today.

Which is the point that will linger long after the news cycle of the day has run its he-said-she-said course. So, Tharoor may have won the ‘battle of the zingers’, but faces the mortification of having old errors of political judgement dragged back into the public domain.
To be fair, though, the Rs 50 crore ‘sweetheart deal’ that collapsed will probably not cause him as much embarrassment today, particularly in a Congress where Sonia Gandhi‘s son-in -law Robert Vadra stands exposed as the undue beneficiary of far more brazen ‘sweetheart deals’ from land developers that grew his fortune some 600-fold in three years.

Modi’s ill-chosen turn of phrase has given rise to media analyses about whether his public utterances disqualify him from holding higher office. Even columnist Swapan Dasgupta, who is politically inclined towards the BJP, concedes that Modi’s platform speeches, rough-edged as they are, may work well in Gujarati, but lose some of their idiomatic relevance and cultural resonance in other languages. To that extent, he argues, Modi may have to be mindful in the future about how best to retain his edgy rhetoric, which stirs up the hardcore BJP cadre, without causing disquiet to middle-of-the-road constituencies.

But the point, as Dasgupta makes, is that Modi is seen to be “divisive” or “polarising” merely because he challenges some of the comfortable assumptions on which political life and social life in India are based.

One of those assumptions, which Congress spokesperson Digvijaya Singh articulated recently, was an abidance by a political protocol in which mainstream parties would avoid any allusion to the ‘sweetheart deals’ and other business interests from which family members of leading politicians may have benefited.

It is this ‘conspiracy of silence’ across political parties that inhibited a detailed investigation ofRobert Vadra‘s land deals even after some tantalising details made it to the public domain last year. And even BJP president Nitin Gadkari’s shadowy business dealings were off the radar – until Arvind Kejriwal shattered the silence.

Today, the floodgates have opened, and more and more details of these and other ‘sweetheart deals’ are tumbling out. Subramanian Swamy has promised yet more details on Rahul Gandhi‘s and Sonia Gandhi‘s own business dealings that fell foul of Company Law provisions.

No longer is it possible to claim innocently, as Tharoor does, that to drag one’s personal life into the public domain is “ungentlemanly”. Modi may have got his timbre wrong in this instance, but his larger point – that the family ties of leading politicians are not above political scrutiny, particularly when they appear to profit from the relationship – is the argument that resonates with anyone who looks beyond the tone to the substance of his rhetoric.

Am not sure why you are reacting, why do not you leave it to Shashi Tharoor to react?

The 50 crore plunder- has it been channelized for social welfare & law & order, then it would have saved tens of helpless girls from malnutrition & rape.

What has Tharoor and people of his ilk have to say about the plunder? No one talks about the honour and dignity of impoverished girlchild who gets "killed" pre maturely due to corruption caused absence of a proper social system.

For God sake, for once, think about those helpless girls and then think what your propaganda is indirectly doing to them?
