Do any of the member have any information about how many jats have turned christian, I would like to know if there are any.

So Rathee Bhai! did you also get a house call from one of those missionaries? Did they read the bible to you and your family?

Even though these people think they have good intentions, they are kind of messed up. Just watch out for them.

All they are interested in is increasing their numbers.

Just ask the guy to read out Mark ch 16, verse 16,17,18. It means Jesus will save you even if you drink poison. Then give him a bottle. He will say , "But you should not try to test God". Tell him you are testing his belief in Jesus and not God.

Still more, just make him read this article :
Christianity is actually "Krishna Neeti *i.e.* Geeta"*

The new book, titled as 'Jesus the Christ was a Hindu' published by Indian Foundation for Vedic Science is the English translation of the original ook is authored by the late G.D. alias Babarao Savarkar, a great revolutionary, who was the elder brother of Veer Savarkar. Babarao Savarkar was sent to the famous Cellular Jail of the Andamans, for rigorous imprisonment. In that horrible jail, he was imprisoned from 1910 to 1921.

When he was allowed to read the books available in that jail, Babarao Savarkar read many English books on the life of Jesus the Christ and was convinced that Jesus Christ was a* Tamil Hindu*. On release from the jail he wrote a book in Marathi showing how Jesus Christ was a Hindu. The book was published in 1946; but before the publication he had lost his life, on 16th March 1945. Dr. P. V. Vartak from Pune has translated this marvelous research book in lucid and easy English.

Apparently, to say that Jesus was a Hindu, appears to be ridiculous, but on reading this book everybody will be convinced that Jesus was a Hindu. He was the preacher of Vedic Dharma. Christianity did not denote the religion of Jesus but it denoted the Krishna neety or Geeta, since Jesus was the propagator of the theology of Geeta. So Jesus didn't start any new religion. It was later after his death that Christianity was introduced as a new faith other than the Vedic one.

Deep research of Shri. Babarao Savarkar presented in this book shows that Jesus was a Tamil Hindu. Jesus Christ did not go himself to Palestine, but his ancestors migrated there long ago. Long before Ramayana, Yayati's sons Anu and Turvasu migrated there, from whom arose the Yavanas and Turuks. After the Mahabharata war Yadavas and Abhiras migrated there from India. The word Yadava became 'Yada', while 'Abhira' became Habira and then Hibru. Their God Almighty was 'Jehova' the Fire of yajna which is registered in the Rigveda 7-6-5, where is stated "Jahvo Agnih".

Aristotal was told by a Jew scholar that Jews were originally Indians. Many western scholars admit it. The name 'Aremaik' of Palestinian language has arisen from a Sanskrit word 'Arvam' denoting "Tamil". It contains many Tamil words. When crucified *Jesus uttered, "Eloi, Eloi, Lama Sabacthani*". *This is a Tamil sentence, its original form being "Eloi, Eloi, Sabikka Lamada Ni "*, which means "Oh God, why are you crushing or cursing me like this?"

Many ancient European portraits of Christ illustrated in this book show Hindu signs on him like dark complexion, a sacred thread, hanging from his left shoulder, a Dhoti around his waist, a Tilaka on forehead, a Mudra of his fingers, a Danda in his hand and saffron robe. Those portraits are painted by Christian European artists some 1500 years ago. Jesus was called * 'Ben Pandera'. In Tamil 'Ben' means Child and 'Pandera' means Devotee*. The name Mary arose from Marium, which came from Tamil 'Mariamma'. Her portraits show Hindu signs on her body. Her pictures are also ancient, sketched around 1500 years ago. Sister of Christ was named 'Thamar' which means Lotus in Tamil, and it is a custom in India to keep name of a girl as lotus.

*Jesus often told parables from 'Gheeda'. Gheeda is a corrupt form of 'Geeta'.* There was no such book as Gheeda around Palestine before Jesus. He told stories of Jash. 'Jash' is a corrupt form of 'Vyasa'. [like Vyankappa = Yankappa. Yajna = Jajna]. *'Jesus' is derived from Greek 'Jeshua', a deviation of Keshua or Keshava.* He was supposed to be incarnation of Krishna. The term *'Krishna' corrupted into 'Krishta' and 'Christ'.

*Therefore he was termed as *'Jesus the Christ', meaning Keshava the incarnation of
Krishna.* Though a carpenter he is called 'Good Shepherd', in memory of 'Gopala' Krishna; because he was supposed to be an incarnation of Krishna.

There are many pictures of Jesus just like lord Krishna and his incarnations. *After his Thread ceremony at 12 years of age, he went to India for studies and returned at 30.* He wore a Philacteris made of Teckilim or Darbha. He emphasized a second birth (Dvija) for getting Heaven. This 'Dvija' is the unique concept of Vedic people. Ample evidence has been showered in the book to prove that Christ was a Hindu. Savarkar has given evidence to show connection of Jesus with the Nath cult of Indian Yogis. A Bengali poem sung traditionally in Nath Cult is cited in the book, in which Jesus is mentioned as 'Isha Nath', who had gone to Arab country, died there, but revived again. In that poem Isha Nath is honoured as a Parama Guru.

Finally, Jesus came to India and died in Kashmir. There are three tombs in Kashmir - of Jesus, of Marium and of John, the Guru of Jesus.

Contd .............

The whole book is fascinating and is full of strong evidences. Life sketch of Jesus is presented in a respectful manner. The esteem about Jesus increases on reading this book. The original research of Savarkar is superb and the translator has been quite successful in plucking out the actual significance of the original Marathi book in English. If all the Christians read this book, instead of trying to convert Hindus into Christian sect, they would like to adopt their original Vedic Dharma. They would like to follow the great theology of Geeta, preached by Jesus. I have a strong belief that on reading this book the Hindus and Christians will develop brotherly and peaceful relations.

If the Pope is lucky enough to this book, he would have to rethink over his statement made by him during his visit to India in 1999. The Pope boasted that in the first millennium Christians conquered the Europe, in the second millennium Christians conquered America and Africa, and in the third millennium Christians will conquer Asia. On that background Franchois Gautier wrote an article in the Indian Express dated 25 Oct.1999, showing
how Hindu the Pope is.

A Russian oriental researcher Mr. Sergei Alexeyev in his talk on Moscow radio said that Jesus Christ was a Hindu Sanyasin, an Indian Hermit. Jesus made an in depth study of Hindu texts during his visit to India. Christ toured to Delhi, Jaipur, Varanasi, Rishikesh. ( Ref. The Times of India 1-7-99).

Dr. Notovitch had done a similar research in the past, studying for 25 years. Dr. Notovitch traveled in India. At the Buddha temple in Himmus, Tibet, he was shown an ancient book, which records the reports of Christ in India for 17 years. It included one short book written by Christ himself. Dr. Notovitch prepared three copies of that book and sent one to the Pope. However, the Pope burnt it and wrote him that he should not do such folly again. Even then, Dr.Notovitch published the book under title " The Unknown Life of Jesus".

"Holy Blood, Holy Grail," the source for "The Da Vinci Code," is a masterwork of paranoid pseudohistory. Now its author is back, arguing that Jesus faked his own death and ran off with Mary Magdelene. Verily, there's a sucker born every minute.

Sampuran Bhai! ek maje ki baat bataun

The other day I met an evangelical christian on campus. He was preaching. I told him that I am an atheist, but I respect Jesus as a person. Could he prove me god's existence.

Man ooh man! he wont even talk to me. I was sincerely open to any new ideas. But he lost me.

Sumit bhai,
Not everybody knows the art of debate or dialectics so if this guy stopped talking to you I think that’s OK but by what authority you can finally decide which ever way about Christianity or Jesus for that matter here. Have you guys read/known all/enough about Christianity and Jesus to finally make your closing arguments or just guessing about them that too so emphatically?

Isne te bolna e band krya tha...VHP ale te sir phod dein ge...but still it won't mean Hinduism is bad...kyonki mujhe lagta he ki yahaan par SAMPLE SIZE thoda kam he...

I know religion and people are tightly coupled but still should not see religion and its followers in the very same light to blame religion for what "ever" followers do
Kya bolta he...

R & D : Sampuran bhai

Good research , very impressive.
Now , here's the reason why I raised this question . I used to have a friend in my middle school years, Nirmal Malik from village Rookhi I just found out that him and his entire family converted to christianity and it was certainly an shock for me and so I went on google to put a search CHRISTIAN JATS and this is one of the reults that I got

There are only two missions agencies targeting the thousands of Jat in India. As a result, most of the Jat believers (nearly 223,000) live in India. Sadly, this only represents a tiny 2% of the entire Jat population in that area
http://www.global12project.com/2004/profiles/clusters/8083.html .

2 lakh 23 thousand is a very big number !!!!!
As far as I am concerned , I am not open to new ideas on religion , period so I am not even open to the idea of what they have to say but for our community the situation is alarming because these people purposely do not want to look different they want to become an integral part of what we already are , they are strategically targeting Jats.

I will follow up with more soon.

Sampuran Bhai

This VHP adviced propoganda of christianity as krishnaniti ie. lie for lie is ill adviced and may backfire.
Ask them simple questions which every body knows wrongly answered by bible as

Revolving of Sun around earth and time of origin of life on earth which bible says somewhere around 4000BC.
Then simply tell them it was known by common JAT of those times when christ was trying to search these mysteries.

This is true these guys are hell bent on increasing their numbers by all sorts of allurements. The other day I met this punjabi lady who I think found a good business opprtunity in this game also.

However she never visited our area after a brief discussion.

Golden words that every one should repeat in their mind every now and then.

Narendar, I fully agree with you here.

Krishna was a yogi, knower of four vedas. He preached about yog vidya and ask eveyone to study and follow vedas in Gita.

I am not sure if jesus even knew anything about the vedas or yoga.

Christianity - Krishna Niti...

Hmmmm never saw this one coming, hats off to these VHP propagandaists according to them the whole world revolves around Hinduism. I dont know how to react to it, whether laugh or get offended.

Christianity has its roots in Judaism, the difference being that for Christians Jesus Christ is the Son of God (not an incarnation) who re-established God's word amongst masses and sacrificed his life for all the sins of humanity including yours and mine. Due to this sacrifice Christ himself is considerd God and is a part of Holy Trinity i.e. Christian Trinity i.e. The Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit.

Curiously, there are many similarities between Krishna and Christ and I suppose that is because both spoke of God and established his word amongst the masses. But both are very different and both chose very different paths.

So accroding to me the idea of Christianity being Krishnaneeti is too far fetched and deserves harsh criticism and should be stopped from getting popular. Such things not only demean Lord Krishna and Jesus Christ but bring Hindus in a bad light. Cant we just be satisfied with whatever religions we follow or not follow and simply respect the integrity of other religions, is it a hard thing to do?

I look at evangelical christians and VHP propagandsits on the same level. Both make me sick.

By the way I never want to debate any of these guys. It just further emboldens them because they feel threatened for no particular reason.

I am a proud atheist. And I am open to debate, because I do not feel threatened.

Re mhare beech main yo atheist kade te aa gya :D main to sochu tha yo thread religious mard beerbaaniyan ka tha :D

Anyways, you know whats really funny- you are an atheist and I a devout Hindu, still we share the same emotion for Christian and Hindu propagandists.

P.S. Evangelical is a church of Christianity, everyone belonging to it is not a propagandist, there are many devout Evangelicals who are very normal and sensible.

Issue is not similarity/differences of Hindus/Christians

I just wanted to raise the issue that Christian missionaries and churches are very thoughtfully targeting the JAT community to be converted to christianity and they have done their research and know what weeknesses our community has ( atleast according to them).
Rahi baat Christianity = Krishna Neeti ki to bhai sahab SAMPURAN SINGH ne haajir jawabi ke hisaab se to bilkul sahi baat kahi hai , ek baar to aadmi to LAJAWAAB kar hi deta hai ye comment :)
Athiest : Ye kya hota hai Dahiya sahab ?????
Waise main 1 hafte ke liye bahar hoonga jo agar reply na likhoo to ye mat samajhna ki Rathee bhaag gya :D :D :D

My two brothers have married christian ladies. Both bhabhi's are now converted to Hinduism.

If christian comminty is able to covert even a tiny fraction i will give them noble prize. This will be their toughest assignment.

During my last visit to India, I heard the same story from my mausi. She told me that nuns come and ask people to join in some sermon. But they mostly target lower castes and non Jats of village, although she did acknowledge that they do give them nice food and all. And mostly Jats find all this very assuming, I agree with Atul on this as I do not think they can convert a single Jat except the ones who would like to have angliscised names.

Cheers,

Thts true Jats survived n practiced thier religion ryt under the nose of mughals n these christian missionaries think thy can convert us.. in ur dreams padre...

Well let me add to my input. It is not as if Christanity is some evil cult or something. The religion is very noble. Detractors of the religion take quote out of context from the Bible. So the problem is not the religion.

The problem is the people who are in charge of the religion. Christanity has become a big trump card in global politics in todays world. Let me describe my point in brief. America is the world's economic and military superpower. Over 90 oercent of global trade happens in US dollars. Do I need to emphasize on the military might of this country. America has come a long way from having Christanity just as a way of life to Christanity becoming the dominant force in the halls of the Congress. The founding fathers, though good christians were socially secular. But, over the years evangelical Christians gained a strong foothold in Washington. Now Christanity has become the link between a voting American and elected officials. If you look at the electoral map of America, you will see that all the rural/christian areas strongly vote republican, while the urban/secular areas strongly vote democrat.

It is a two pronged process. On one hand the Christian groups lobby politicians in Washington to get their agendas through, while on other hand they recruit more chritians to boast of their numbers. One wont be possible without the other. If their numbers were not strong, the politicians wont give a hoot about them, and they wont be going after just every possible person to convert him or her to christanity, if they did not have numbers to boast of, in Washington.

So, my friends it is a very braod conspiracy. Just watch out for it. Do not fall prey to it. It is not restricted to America alone. These people want to boost their numbers the world over to have a monotonous approach towards their "christian agendas." This is where Christanity and Islam cross paths. While one converts with a smile, the other converts with a sword. You know which one is which.
