Why do we usually taste failure at interviws and the die in the sea of depression........and then we presume that system needs to be oiled and its alla bout bribes and sponsorship.......
actually no.....thats not entierly true and some things need to be worked out.....ONEOF THE USUAL QUESTIONS HERE IS..........
“I keep sending out my CV applying for different jobs but I never get an interview. How can I get an interview?”
It doesn’t take much figuring out when you look at their activity. All these candidates have a CV that they prepare before even knowing what job they will be applying for. They then send out the same CV to all the different job opportunities.
My response is to say stop wasting your time. You should not write your CV until you at least know the job you’re applying for, let alone sending it out to all these different positions.
In a recent survey on people looking for a new job, there were some interesting results published.
18% of them will apply to over 100 jobs before getting an offer.
70% of them will apply to over 20 jobs before getting an offer.
40% of them believe it will take over 6 months to get a job
13% of them believe it will take over 12 months to get a job.
These figures are staggering. This is not job hunting. This is blind activity with no direction or purpose. If you’re applying for more than 5 job opportunities without even getting an interview, then you’re probably either applying for the wrong jobs or your CV is not written specifically for the opportunity.
Only apply for positions that you truly have the skills and experience for rather than the ones you would like to think that you can do and structure your CV for each position. Highlight these skills and experiences and make them relevant to the position.
Failing to do so will only lead to on going disappointment. So next time when you do so think about these aspects and take a long breath just before the big leap.
All the best
