Are you superstitious?

Ek aur yaar hai mera! Visa overstay kar reha se! Baat hai mihne pehle ki.

We were coming back from somewhere. He wanted to drive. I warned him that he would be in trouble if he was pulled over because of his Visa overstay. He said he will be alright. He has never been pulled over before, so things will be alright again.

To bhai log main to seat koddi karr ke so gaya. Firr beraa na kitni haan mein gaaddi mein chaandna sa ho rhya thaa. Laal-dholi-neeli-safed light. Gaaddi mein diwali si ho rhi thee.

Manne apne yaar te bujhi ke ho gaya bhai. He told me we got pulled over. Fir pulsiya khidkee mein aake bolya: Sir! do you know how fast you were going. My yaar said no sir!. Pulsiya bolya: I have been clocking you between 90 and 100 MPH for the past 15 minutes.

fir ke thaa. kaat diyaa chalaan mere yaar ka.

I had been telling my friend all day before getting pulled over that I was having a bad feeling we were going to get pulled over. He ignored it. I told him my gut feeling is never wrong. He ignored that too.

Now I hope he realizes there is something more than we feel is in our control.
 
Everyday I see 4 set of similar digits since almost 3 years now.....like 1111 or 7777 or 4444....and I get an indication as to whats gonna happen that day....so a certain set of numbers are lucky and others indicate bad luck...initially i didn't give a crap about it...but eventually i have learned that I gotta believe in being superstitious....and its true....this might be strange for some of you but yeah I see those set of digits everyday.....anywhere....while driving, working, having a coffee, while standing to cross the street....in a grocery store.....but I dont miss it
 
try watever works for u . i m not into all this shyte but if it makes someone feel more confident about the way they do things then i dont criticise them.
 
The Ghost Month

According to Chinese year calender the seventh month is considered as 'Month of the Hungry Ghosts' and Chinese will not do any ausipcious work,will not get married or start any new work during this period.They believe this is the month when all the their dead family members wake up,come back to home from the grave and try to make their presence felt by the family.One of my friend(Indian)who has taken a house on rent whose owner is Chinese.Suddenly my friend started hearing noise from the bathroom all the night though he stays all alone in the house.Sometimes when he locks the door while going out he would hear someone knocking the door from inside.Sometimes will just feel that bed is shakking without any earthquake.He was really scared and told his Chinese landlord.His londlord told him not to worry as its very normal during Ghost month and may be some of his(landlords)relative's ghost was bothering him as the house belongs to that Chinese guy.May be thats true.

Another incident is of a party.There was a smaal get-together and the moment party was over.One cat cross one of my freind's way when he was going back to his place.I am superstitious so i was little scared.Anyways he left and next day we got a call from him that the previous night some guys attacked him and started beating him.They snatched his gold chain and money.Now such incidents make me think that sometimes what we can't see still has existance
 
Just wanted to update you guys on our friend Sandeep. He just got his Green card approved. He may get back enough money back in his tax-returns to pay off his Credit Cards. His wife somehow got to keep her job but will make less money this year.

Now some would say that its just a coincidence that things are changing for Sandeep. It has nothing to do with his recent reversal to observing his faith. Guess what, I followed him and tried to do be more faithful. Things have been improving for me too.

I would say times are tough and a lot of people are hurting. But having a little faith definitely helps while the storm passes by.

Dear Phool Kumar, when you start believing in something it gives you a positive energy
and this energy helps in resolving the problem.

If we become superstitious then there is no end and an unknown fear grips the person which otherwise itself is very harmful. I am not a nastik though.

I will tell you an interesting incident which happened to me:

When I started my unit there were teething troubles, either some new machine will be under breakdown or something else will happen. My foreman, who incidentally was a pundit, came to me and said that we will have to do some Puja/Anushthan to remove the problems. I did not want to hurt his religious faith but at the same time was not ready to fall in the Brahmin’s trap. I told him that we will look into the matter.

Next day I had to go to ‘bhaat’ (my niece’s marriage). After coming back I discussed the matter with my wife. “unhone kaha ki aap bhaat wale laddoo le jao aur kah dena ki bhai ye parshaad hai, bibi ji ne puja karwai thi” I followed her advice and got the so called prasad distributed. Incidently the problems got sorted out and we started doing well.
The poor pundit ji believes till now that everything got well because of bibi ji’s pooja.

It may be because of his faith and the positivity thus generated.
