Baba Mastnath was the first Mehant/ Guru of this Math/ Gadhee and Baba ChandNath is the Eighth.
Baba Chandnath has succeeded Mehant Shriyonath, a saintly and well respected personalty. He was a jat from Narela Village, Delhi. It was a coincident that two holy personalties, Swami Omanand and Mehant Shriyonath both from jat families of Narela village, were contemporaries, followed two distinct ideologies and remained good friends till the last.
I believe, Baba Masnath ascended this one of the several Nath panth establishments in North India in early nineteenth century but reached its highest glory during the period of Baba Shriyonath.
Baba Shriyonth seventh in line, was well respected in the area and become MLA in late sixties defeating Chaudhry Ranbir Singh and become the Health Minister.
He was instrumental in opening Hundreds of Aryuvedic Dispensaries in the state during his tenure as Health Minister.
Baba established the first Aryuvedic College in Haryana and one of the best charitable Eye Hospital in North India.
He was assisted by Athgama Panchayat( bohar, balauth, baliyana, naunand, garhi, khedi and karor village) on important issues but fell out on the issue of his successor, Baba Chandnath.
Baba Chandnath, although a controversial figure continued the legacy of his Guru and established various educational institutions. Credit goes to Baba Chandnath for starting Dental College, Engineering College, Management institue and a residendential public school.
Some of our active members are from Village Bohar who could help intracing the early history of the Math. I believe, bhai Sanjeev Nanadal could through some light on that.
Cheers!
