Are you in touch with Hawa Singh?
If so there are some queries, one would like to put to him.
1) This story of the Babri masjid being constructed by Ibrahim Lodi is a new one.
Hawa Singh , takes great trouble to make the point that Ibrahim Lodi constructed the Mosque on a vacant plot of land.
What is source for that?
2) The story of the Jama masjid Mulah claiming that the Jats guarded the Treasury 'Khazana' of Muhamad, has been circulating for some time recently.
The story has been created recently, as far as I can tell.
If Hawa Singh ji or anyone else has more authentic information, could they share it with us.
A question also arises, what is a man of god doing with a Khazana that needed to be defended? Where did the Khazana come from?
Ditto. for the story of a Jat doctor treating Ayesha, the 9 year old wife of Muhammad.
I have come across the story, but have not been able to see any evidence or reference.
It begs the question, as to what the original source of the story is.
Why is the claim of a modern Mullah, without any backup, given preference, or worse even considered acceptable?.
3) The jats resisted conversion to Christianity. Despite the huge efforts of the missionaries, no success was found.
Look around your villages and see how many Jats have converted to Christianity or for that matter anywhere else.
Hawa Singh suggests that the jats welcomed Christianity, constructed Churches for the Christians etc ???
4) Destruction of Buddhist monastries, Viharas and Universities.
Again it is not clear that the Hindu or the 'evil' brahmins. destroyed them. Upto the time before Islam, we have plenty of evidence that Buddhist Viharas were flourishing.
King Harsh though a Shaivite, supported that. His sister became a Buddhist.
The Chinese Travelers Huen Tsang, etc wrote extensively about Buddhism and Hinduism flourishing from Central Asia and through out India.
All this comes to an end with the advent of Islam.
Nalanda university in Bihar, flourished upto 1193 Ad, when it was destroyed by Bhatkiyar Khilji, of the islamic faith.
for some references see:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nalanda
"1193, the Nalanda University was sacked by Bakhtiyar Khalji, a Turk;[21] this event is seen by scholars as a late milestone in the decline of Buddhism in India. Khilji is said to have asked if there was a copy of the Koran at Nalanda before he sacked it. The Persian historian Minhaj-i-Siraj, in his chronicle the Tabaquat-I-Nasiri, reported that thousands of monks were burned alive and thousands beheaded as Khilji tried his best to uproot Buddhism and plant Islam by the sword,[22] and the burning of the library contin*ued for several months and "smoke from the burning manuscripts hung for days like a dark pall over the low hills.".[23] "
Do please understand, that this is not to start a Hindu- Mulsim acrimonius discussion or an anti Muslim tirade.
The resurgence of orthodox Hinduism, undoubtedly cause a decline in Buddhism, but if there was wholesale destruction, then one must also ask why major Buddhist centres of learning survived as late as 1200 AD, and what changed in the political and social environment.
It is only to get the historical record correct.
There is much more but this would be a good starting point.
