sorry folks...but i have many problems with this thread....please take it in a constructive way....my objections are as follows:
the title of this thread is 'bare dare trend in .........'
and the poll is 'should women lead independent lives.....'
this seems to suggest that women can lead independent lives only by daring or baring.....
also, 'independent' of what...family or financial or anything else....its an unclear question....
we should not aggravate the matter by discussing confused intermixed topics...it just sends out wrong signals...
Also, we are sort of implicitly passing a judgement here on women who are not independent (financially or whatever). This is trashing their 'other' roles in life and in society....
there have been numerous threads on these topics in jatland
http://www.jatland.com/forums/showthread.php?t=12844&highlight=equality
http://www.jatland.com/forums/showthread.php?t=10443
and to be honest, all this patronising talk is getting a bit boring (maybe because i have written number of times about it ...so apologies for calling it boring)....except once, no thread ever has been started by a female member of this forum...that itself is telling....
nobody's crying for help here....as one member put it...either the women keep subjugating or stand up and fight for themselves...well, i would say why do we need to fight for anything...there is no war going on here....
also, i dont understand why its always about women showing their skin in bollywood...why dont people talk about salman khan always appearing half naked in his songs and other similar heroes showing off their built bodies....its always men talking about females and how its proving difficult for them to protect their honour because of all this bare dare acts and 'kya ho raha hai society mein'........
if one has problem with westernisation of indian society....please just dont target women by talking about them all the time....mind u, men wear more western clothes in India then women...so why all this hue and cry about women.......i dont understand...

...please discuss it under 'westernisation of indian clothing'...
i just want to say that being a female i have strong objection in being talked about in a patronising way and being an object of attention all the time....please take the limelight away from the female population and let them be....then only they can be their natural self....like the male population is....there are crimes against men too but they dont have the political color of gender attached to it....
well lets put it this way, do you think every individual should lead an independent life....

Priti Ma'm I don't think the subject is so complicated that it can't be made out? I think it is clear like a sky after rain.
