No one can deny the multiple benefits of educating women. Over the years several steps have been initiated to bridge the gap between roles of men and women in the society.

At a time when the world was fast changing and the role of women was not just restricted to homes, can education play role in changing the mindset of Indian Society to empower women in real sense of the term 'EMPOWERMENT.'

Please join discussion depicting the present 'mindset' and future perspective.

Of course Yes...
Education definitively.. gets a change i the mindset not only for women but also for men it is same across.. any gender..
It changes the complete life of not only that particular individual but also the people related to that individual...

And it always heads towards the right direction to right Goal if it is taken in right way...
:)

People are more aware these days, so they provide good education irrespective of a girl or a boy. Situation has improved with various steps being taken to bridge the gap.
Women are excelling in various fields or to say they are on par to men.

Certainly education widens the horizon in which an individual thinks, so is the case with women, they are no more restricted to house hold works. Children usually spend more time with their mother than father, so an educated women in more likely to influence their child. An educated women can inculcate good manners in them, and help them with their studies as well.

In my opinion an educated women is far more good to the family than a men with same education.

You are absolutely right.

If a women gets right type of education, she will surely prove to be catalyst in changing the mindset of the society in positive direction and opening of newer opportunities in various occupations and professions would result in more participation in day to day indoor and outdoor activities for women. Thus they will be empowered to have their say in decision making in all spheres of life automatically.

Education is one thing and using the education & knowledge in action is different.

We are taught various good things as part of our education but we fail to apply those in our lives.

Education is playing a vital role in women empowerment but its application is creating more differences between two genders.

Malik Sahib,

No, 'Education' is not the cause of creation of differences between the two genders but half backed knowledge and again its ill matched application is doing so.

Real Education widens one's horizons of mind and soul, activates his latent energy and pushes his heart towards kindness and service of mankind as a whole.

Accumulation of knowledge and information bereft of education is causing hyper tension everywhere.

Very true you said, it is half backed knowledge which creates differences between the two not real education.

I beg to differ and say that the "education has created differences and widened the gaps of gender maturity levels". It's the same story of a glass and water. One can not pour more water in a glass that is already filled. The same thing applies to education and which gives women a "know-all" attitude.

Indian education system is highly theoretical and by gaining just the bookish knowledge without any practical experience leads to failure in real life. Real experience always outweighs theoretical knowledge, in practice.

You have rightly said that educated women feel empowered when they get higher education, however, this empowerment does not guarantee quality. Empowerment is just an enabler and not a producer. A normal person (who is not so empowered) would still listen, try to gain knowledge and deliver as against, an empowered person, but who feels he/she has the ability to do most things and does not feel the need of advice or knowledge. Such an empowered person would ultimately deliver nothing. More than empowerment, it is the attitude that matters and attitude has very little to do with formal education.

In real life, there are lot of factors that play in the development of a person; education is one of them but is certainly not at all sufficient.

Friend you have every right to differ and I respect your right to differ. But I could not comprehend what do you want to convey by saying:

"I beg to differ and say that the "education has created differences and widened the gaps of gender maturity".

Friend, school/university education is not enough for the empowerment of the women, but spiritual education is also necessary. Thank god, all women are not 'educated'. According to me mostly of these 'educated' women don't believe in bringing up kids, doing household works and so (though exceptions are always there). God saves from these 'educated' women (mostly).

Education helps women with life-skills, resources, and confidence to overcome social barriers and fulfill personal & professional goals. If we educate even 50% of the women of India then it can bring a revolution in the country and India will be on a right track to compete with the western countries in every sphere. Education is the key to the success of overall development of the country.

I agree with you. In my opinion the stereotype in the society is largely to blame. Over the years our society has been changing and getting liberal. It is a human nature to resist a change and that could be another reason that a section of our still see it as negative. I believe this thinking will change in future.

You are mistaken on this, they are not educated, but they consider themselves a part of high society(saying as per the traits mentioned by you) so they do not indulge themselves in to it.
Those who are educated understand the importance of family and upbringing of their off-springs.

Have made the post more comprehensible.

Friend,

Our mindset needs not only change but overhauling.

Thanks.

Friend,

Congratulations for the excellent post. After reading it, all the imaginary fears connected with educating girls must come to an end and there should be no grudge in sending them to schools and institutions of higher education. Contrary to view of some of our friends, no separate system of education is required for boys and girls.

Don't go far, take Kerala as an example 100% literacy, all what you have mentioned is visible there. There Women participation is every field is conspicuous.

Has education really empowered men? Care to explain in both the cases.

Kadian Sahib,

If you do not mind, kindly permit me to say that it is due to your empowerment through education that you are frequenting alternately between Hindustan and Europe. An illiterate or to say uneducated person can never dream of going so far in his life.

Same is true in the case of empowerment of women that they are contributing their best in every sphere of activities.

Regards
