Step back first........
I don’t know the answer to the question asked here as to how women can bring peace in the world but what I do know for sure is that they can do a lot if given a choice of breaking free the barriers imposed by nature, customs and for that matter, the imperatives of raising a family.
Peace has got nothing to do with gender, however, that X chromosome does make females stronger in many aspects. Way to go….!!!
I apologize for the slight digression from the main topic, but worth a read.
Did you know that even though
more baby boys than baby girls are born, more girls than boys survive. The reason is that girls have the advantage due to the presence of two X chromosomes.. In boys, however, there is only one X chromosome, since the other is a Y Chromosome (
does nothing except deciding “maleness”). The mosaic nature (XX) of girls gives them the advantage of added resistance to infections and thus an edge for better survival. So, in a natural population, not only is the ratio of women to men slightly higher, but the life expectancy for women is also slightly more than that for men. Ofcourse, we dont let it happen, who wants a girl child anyway..!!
Here are is an excerpt from an editorial published in Current Science last year , focusing primarily on women, science and X chromosome:
The X-chromosome, dubbed on Nature’s cover as ‘the chromosome that unites the sexes’ is really the female characteristic; women have two X-chromosomes, one inherited from each parent. In one of biology’s magical events, most genes on one of the two X-chromosomes are silenced. Men possess an X and Y pair of chromosomes, with the latter possessing relatively
little by way of genetic information, although it does determine ‘maleness’. While the X and Y chromosomes evolved from a common ancestor, the latter has ‘
disintegrated to a shadow of its former self’(Gunter, C., Nature, 2005, 434, 279). To the non-specialist descriptions of the ‘
male’ Y-chromosome convey an impression of a bleak, molecular wasteland, limited to controlling a few defining characteristics of sex. The X-chromosome is more fertile, displaying a genetic richness which surely must yield many new insights in the years to come.

Amartya Sen once said, “The changing agency of women is one of the major mediators of economic and social change, and its determination as well as consequences closely relates to many of the central features of the development process. …
Nothing, arguably, is as important today in the political economy of development as an adequate recognition of political, economic, and social participation and leadership of women. This is indeed a crucial aspect of development as freedom.”
Again, don’t know about peace from women, but surely we need to give a lot including peace to women in current scenario. Give freedom to them, the rest would follow!!
