This is the most idiotic thing a person can do! High temperature increases the rate of mercury vapor formation. Educate yourself first before trying to educate others!

घरां एक पुराणा थर्मामीटर पड़्या था, ताप नापण का. काल-परसु टूट गया. CFL बलफ मै 3 मिलीग्राम और थर्मामीटर मै 3000 मिलीग्राम मरकरी बताया. मोटे-मोटे हिसाब तै हज़ार बल्फां जितणा. मेरे तै भी बताइयो के करणा सै इसका, ऩा तो मै इसने कूड़े मै फैंकू सूँ, कितै काल नै उल्हाणा दयो अक पर्दूषण हो ग्या?

1. Ventillate the room well where the spill has occurred.
2. use playing cards, eye dropper, syringe to collect mercury drops
3. Drop them in a Zip loc bag or a plastic container with a tight lid.
4. Drop the box off at local government hospital which has hazardous waste disposal facility in place.
5. Remove all items that came in contact with the mercury spill.

PIL (Public Interest Litigation) is a good option - usually lawyers don't charge for this.
Hmm not a bad idea. Rakesh should initiate the process involving others who might be interested in.

Urmila has the right solution. One more thing.......if the bulb bursts inside your house turn off all Air Conditioning, Fans, etc. Take all kids out of that area immediately.
CFL are total useless Kakamimi BS perpetuated by paid media. Either use incandescent bulbs or LED. I am replacing all bulbs with LED they are little expensive at beginning but pay for themselves over time by reducing power consumption, heat, and by sheer longevity.
