Did any politician ever said proudly that they are Jat and proud to be a jat except Ch Devi Lal and Mr. O. P. Chautala.
Who is real Jat and who is mere a politician ??????????
Politicians are well known to be proud of anything if it helps their political career. Now let me explain why it was a sound political strategy to call himself as proud Jat. Haryana votes are always divided as Jat votes and non Jat votes. Jat votes decide the fate of candidates in majority of constituencies. By calling himself as a proud Jat, Chautala was trying to pocket Jat votes . Non jat votes would have gone to his ally BJP. His calcualtion is that by this method he could keep away all other Jat leaders from the leadership of the state. This was a fairly intelligent strategy to be in power by winning Jat votes and sharing power with BJP who would have got all other polarised votes. However, voters were smater than him and were not impressed by his assertions of being proud Jat. Fortunes of all such leaders who tried to win votes on caste politics are falling lately. BJP could not influence Hindus, Mayawati could not get scheduled castes, Lallu could not get all backwards votes , and Chautala could not trigger emotions among Jats... Voters have become more clever now and know politicians much better. Predicting votors mind is like whether forcasting these days..and it changes on hourly/daily basis...Global warming hai bhai after all...LOL.. I have followed politics very closely and know quite a bit of it Vijay. I have seen many jokers in politics who could make voters cry and walk away with all the votes and never to return again..Don't take any of them on face value...Never get carried away by these statements...they are all calculated to fool unsuspecting simple people. I will share lots of stories if we ever meet in person. This forum is not the right place to go into details.
