Deepak, I was trying my best to not to make it a party based discussion.
I would urge you to read again what I wrote before forming opinions and reply just for the sake of opposing. Please read this:
I do not think national media influences regional voters to a great extent beyond a few neighboring Delhi states and metros. You missed the bold.
I have worked with both, circulation and readerships numbers of all national newspaper and viewerships of news channels and when I say something, I say it with statical backing.
National media is Navbharat Times, dont go beyond but in western UP anyone hardly reads it, Amar Ujala is most read newspaper.
Hindustan Times does not even have editions in major south Indian cities.
Times of India and HT did not even have a Jaipur edition until a couple of years ago, Rajasthan Patrika is most read.
Malyala Manorama influences most in Kerala.
Trust me, I can go on with a list but I guess this is enough to prove a point if you would want to understand.
Second on influencing, are you even aware of how newspapers or TV broadcasting channels work? How do they submit stories? How is editorial divided? Please throw some light and you will get reply to questioning my post.
