Ranbir’s statue removed

In an embarrassment to the district administration, the authorities concerned got the newly installed statue of late Ch Ranbir Singh, freedom fighter and father of Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, removed from the Canal Rest Hosue Chowk here this evening.
The CM directed the Deputy Commissioner to halt the installation in the wake of the Supreme Court’s directions on the installation of statues at public places and the filing of a PIL in the high court on the issue.
Balraj Kaushik, former general secretary of the HPCC, said the authorities seemed to be working for praise from the powers-that-be. On the expenses on the development of the chowk and the statue, the joint commissioner of the Rohtak Municipal Corporation, Ashima Sangwan, said she had no off-hand information about it and the executive engineer of the civic body said he was driving a vehicle and was unable to attend the query.
 
Chautalas rope in legal eagles to fight case

CHANDIGARH: Former Haryana CM OmPrakashChautala, behind bars along with his son after being convicted in a teachers' recruitment scam, has engaged a battery of top lawyers to fight their case and a PR firm to salvage the image of his party ahead of the LokSabha and HaryanaAssembly polls in 2014. Chautalas have already roped in senior solicitor general of IndiaGopalSubramaniam and senior advocatesMukulRohtaki, U Lalit, Ramesh Gupta to defend the father-son duo in the Delhi high court.

Sources in say these lawyers charge anything between Rs 5 lakh and Rs 7 lakh for an appearance in one hearing of a case. Similarly, they charge from Rs 2 to 5 lakh for every 'conference' to discuss a case.

"We have had conferences with these lawyers and the appeal is expected to come up for hearing before the Delhi high court next week.The main arguments on the appeal would be carried out by senior advocate Gopal Subramaniam," the source confirmed.

Even, the clerk or "munshi" of these lawyers charge around Rs 1 lakh for one case as their fee. Besides, along with these Delhi-based lawyers,a full-fledged team of other lawyers from Chandigarh would also be assisting in fighting the case.

These lawyers would be defending Chautala and his son Ajay Chautala, who were sentenced to 10 years imprisonment by a special CBI court on January 22 for their role in the JBT teachers' recruitment scam in 2003 when [COLOR=#0000FF !important]OP Chautala[/COLOR]was the Haryana CM.

Ajay [COLOR=#0000FF !important]Chautala's[/COLOR] younger son, Digvijay Chautala, who is studying law in the UK, told TOI: "This team of experienced and high profile lawyers has been engaged to ensure that our leaders can be represented well before the Delhi high court and the truth is brought out. They were booked as part of a deep-rooted conspiracy by [COLOR=#0000FF !important]the Congress[/COLOR]. This has to be exposed."

"After our leaders were convicted, we focused on two aspects - first, to defend by the best legal brains of the country and second, to launch campaigns across Haryana to boost the morale of party workers," said Digvijay.

The decision to engage these top legal eagles to defend their case was taken by the former CM's younger son, Abhay Chautala, who is now shouldering the responsibility of carrying Devi Lal's legacy forward and keeping the INLD's hold strong in the state in absence of his father and brother.

Sources said that Abhay, who is also the president of the Indian Olympic Association, took the decision as he felt that the case against his father, brother and others was not represented properly before the trial court of special CBI judge in Delhi, which held them guilty.

Will Hooda be ever convicted ala Chautala has been? Those singing paeans of an unbiased judiciary and blaming regional parties for every ill on this earth, please answer on this. Rightly said, Chautalas do not have finesse to do a scam and get caught for an act of changing the selection list. Such fools should be put behind bars for sure whereas those who changed the dynamics of of how corrpution should be done, ought to be lauded as Development Oriented CMs

Absolutely right. Much bigger scam and crony capitalism! Resulted in not only a big loss but also unplanned township. I came across another article last year about Gurgaon present situation. It has turned into a Ghetto! Giving building approval to unexperienced people has resulted into this. Infact DLF is also not a city planner!! What to talk about small developers. Absence of good administration and lack of reforms in public service has resulted into such a mess.

naa mein koi neta hun aur naahi abhineta..toh apne kaun koi kya bigaadega..aise bhi unemployed hun bhai..bhrastachar ke kaaran ek average student ko naukri milna kitna mushkil ho gya hai..

majority of politicians are lawyers thats why they r good manipulators...kya bolein bhai....peeche laag jae toh aseem trivedi ya koi aur activist ki tarah media wale aapko famous kar denge...
kya lena dena aise politicians ka naam lekar..honest representatives ka naam lekar bhi kya hoga...woh aane wale time mein fir dikh hee jaega............

आज लोगो को जब यह कहते सुनता हु की चौटाला को अंदर डाल कर कांग्रेस जाटों को खत्म करना चाहती हैं , या फिर चौटाला के लोगो द्वारा आरोप लगाना की कांग्रेस उनके नेता के साथ अन्याय कर रही हैं आदि जैसी बाते सुनकर मन मे ख्याल आता हैं की जब हरियाणा मे चौटाला राज था तो इन लोगो ने डांगी , जेपी , कारण दलाल , निर्मल सिंह , सतपाल सांगवान जैसे कई नेताओ पर झूठे मुक़दमे बनवा जेल की हवा खिलाई थी , क्या ये लोग जाट नहीं थे क्या वो अन्याय नहीं था !!

yeh sab politics mein normal hai...sattadhaari pakshh hamesha vipaksh ke khilaaf yeh sab karta hai...kaafi states mein yeh sab dikhai deta hai jaise ki Tamil Nadu, UP, Bihar aur bahut saari states mein..
isiko politics kehte hain bhai....tabhi toh kehte hain politics jaisi buri cheez nahi....
