Dear Friends,

Yesterday I crossed river Krishna near Shamli and was horrified to look at its water. As a Child I used to take bath in the clean waters of this river and now it has been turned into an industrial "nallaha". I am sure same is the fate of most other similler rivers. We Jats are hardly known to act on environmental issues inspite of the fact that it affects us the most. I am planning to form an action group to mobilse the masses so that we can force government to put its acts together to clean small rivers which flow through our areas. My plan is to hold a Pad-Yatra from river Krishna bridge near Banat to Tahseel Shamli as a first step and submit a memo. to the SDM office. We will intensify our agitation to mobilse rural and urban masses in due course of time. We need active members who can spare time and some resources for our movemnet to be successful. Please join in large numbers. Let us plan first Pad-Yatra within next 10-15 days.

Thanks
Rajendra

Jis ke peir naa pari biwai, wo kya jane peer parai!

It is really sad to see the response to your call.

I feel like reproducing here the famous lyrics by Rabinderanath Tagore that was one of Gandhi ji's favourite song; Ekla chalo re...

If they answer not to thy call walk alone,
If they are afraid cover mutely facing the wall,
O thou of evil luck,
open thy mind and speak out alone.

If they turn away and desert you when crossing the wilderness
O thou of evil luck
trample the thorns under thou tread,
and along the blood line-track travel alone.

If they don't hold up the light when the night is troubled up with the storm,
O thou of evil luck,
with the thunder flame of pain ignite thy own heart
and let it burn alone.

I know the weight on these shoulders is huge but, can also feel the fire within that can melt the mountains..

With heart-felt best wishes for the success of your mission!

Dear Mr Rajendra,
It is good to see that there are still people like you who want to give a fight for causes which affects everybody. As I see that you recieved a very poor response here on this forum, which shows one thing for sure lot of people are not concerned about Krishna river only.(But people are concerned on broad level, there is a parrallel thread started by Priti on the similar issue but in broad sense). To me it seems that u want to do some execution on ground level. I would love to join ur padyatra if it would have been possible. Are you talking with the local people on the issue. They are the ones who are most affected by the river krishna. Please keep us posted about ur progress.
It may be slow but lets keep it alive, atleast in idea :)
