"Death At A Funeral":p

its hilarious--u will roll over on the floor wid laughter, churns ur stomach
not those typiacaly loud-mouthed n tryin-too-hard-to-b-funny movies

very subtle,,n picks up slowly,,,in the end,,,its a riot...total mayhem!:eek::D

A must-see..

acting by each character is terrific!;):D:p

"just My Luck"

.......however we use to deny it at every stage of life but there is still something called "LUCK"
What can be the denauments if your stars are not favouring you or just opposing you. The same thing has been narrated & enacted in "Just my Luck"
with lots of laughter & comedy.

However we must believe on ourselve rather than on Luck......but see it once if you believe in stars.:)

i like--
Forrest gump... (No Comments.. can see it n number of times):)
POC--curse of the black ppearl... (sequels are not good.)
Truman Show.. (Jim Carry is fantastic)...:)
City of God... (gory but very good movie... its a Brazilian movie).
RDB...
Dil se...
Sweet November...
Sholay....

Recently managed to see a real funny movie......Heartbreak KID...I suggest its a much watch....from the directors (Farrelly brothers) of fame...."there is something about mary" and "dumb and the dumber" and many many more....
has a bit of crude humor and nudity somewhere....so watch out.....basically a out of league and mite make you laugh outta your pants rite from the begining.....;)
ben stiller ( a typically idiot roles he plays which suits his personality best) with his dad (a vegas entertainer) Jerry stiller and lott more.....just go hit it anywhere......

...then comes a really encouraging movie...."THE GYMNAST"...its mite not be a waste of time for a few sports enthusiasts....

then last but not the least.....the animated store......"BEE MOVIE" it mite not be that outrageous comedy but not to miss...if some one loves animation flicks.......7.5/10 for this one.

will watch"AMERICAN GANGSTER" this week.....

Ummm...creative movies:

Forrest Gump(IQ or common sense?)
Matrix (illusion at its best!)
City of god(Fight and you'll never survive..... Run and you'll never escape)
memento (the sequence of B/W and colors is amazing.)
Trueman show
Fight Club(English)
Day watch
RDB(film just makes u think...for few hours..)
Jaane bhi do yaaro-(one of da best bollywood ever produced)
n movies like italian job, oceans 11, 12 needs bit of creativity too....

'Constantine'-hero is welL,,,,ravishing,...! BUT ...Cudnt make the head or tail of it

'Finding Neverland'-likewise!:(

Vanishing Point : One cult movie, I admire a lot! :)

Vanishing Point is a 1971 road movie starring Barry Newman, Cleavon Little, Dean Jagger, and a 1970 Dodge Challenger.

It is notable for its scenery from filming locations across the American Southwest and its social commentary on the post-Woodstock mood in the United States. It was one of the earliest films (following on the example of Easy Rider), to feature a rock music soundtrack. It is beloved by Mopar enthusiasts because it is one of the most significant movies ever to feature a classic Dodge muscle car. The film continues to be popular to this day and is considered a cult film.

A Vanishing Point remake was created for Fox television, first airing in 1997, and also featuring a 1970 Dodge Challenger. The film stars Viggo Mortensen as Kowalski, rewritten as a suspected militia sympathizer from Idaho, and Jason Priestly as "The Voice", a libertarian talk radio shock jock who replaces Super Soul. The Remake isnt bad either thou Original is Original!!! :)

A must Watch, Indeed for all the Nomads & quality movie-buff!

Even Audioslave featured movie scenes in their hit rock no - 'Show me how to live' - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MfMtivHV47A

Rock on
Jit

American Gangster....talking about Gangster movies....

One of the best know i can remember is American History X, casino, Reservoir Dogs, Pulp fiction, donnie brasco, gangs of NY...many more to follow

Not to forget...Godfather getting the top notch as alwayz and discussed zillion times....

Now American gangster is all about the true story of Frank Lucas who was all time Drug trafficking smugler known to get very pure dope all the way from Vietnam in coffins of soldiers......he made millions with in no time and always believed in business with his cozins who he called from S Carolina.....
He almost owned a street in Harlem in those days.....

he was convicted for 70 years which was later reduced and now he is a free man who lives in NY working 9-5 like a normal man...

below is the link if u want to watch it online
WATCH ONLINE AMERICAN GANGSTER by clicking here

In the movie the lead role is played by Denzel Washington....its a must watch i wud say....or better get a DVD...also starring is Australian actor Russel crow of gladiator fame...

It amuses me. Topic says "creative" movies and all are telling their favourite movies. hehehehe:-)!

yeah sumit when this thread was started by Preti....it was meant to be for discussing creative movies....but then later a few idiots started discussing their fav movies..and so again you will find somewhere in middle of the thread that it was forced to a thread where fav movies will be discussed instead of Creative movies......so people who actually discussed creative movies initially started discussing their fav movies now....:p
Now u keep guessing who that mite have been....after all diverting a thread to unknown seas is normal at JLAND......:D:p

arent we doing it to every thread....so let it be.....;)

I hav made a long list of movies to watch after goin thru this thread… thanks guys J

n here’s my pick, some movies which I feel are different and can make a mark….

Shawshank redemption , a must watch (an idea with a plan, determination and faith in urself can change lives)

Rang De Basanti ( I think, for the first time instead of showing a rosy ending reality was shown)

Raincoat (I think the movie was very slow and boring most of the times, but it was moving and the end was very beautiful…. Love is eternal and self-sacrificing)

A Beautiful Mind, my all time favorite… what do I say bout this one… a standing ovation from my side

Last but not the least, Pay it Forward, I have lot to talk bout this one...we all have been moved and motivated by some or the other movie in life n then there's some kindda learning n we thing of doing something different/chanding something n then the idea is simply lost with time.... m sure it must have happenend with most of us. But this movie gives a very simple implementable idea. Atleast in my case it made a difference.... those who are interested can chk out this thread.... http://www.jatland.com/forums/showthread.php?t=22466

keep pouring in the responses, so that i always hav a good movie in my list :-)
