God only knows what's happening in Air Force. With Air Chief Marshal's comment on the inadequacy of fighter plane strength at a time when we are facing new challenges everyday along with pilots opting for VRS, where are we heading??

Apropos of the pilot's early retirement plans, what else could our government expect when pilots who lay their lives for motherland are not even promoted for 25 years at a stretch ? In concerning with the shortage of pilots in our forces, who will opt for Air Force to die sitting in flying corpses: the so called Mig fighter planes??

The Government is solely responsible for the sorry state of Air Force otherwise there is no dearth of young blood in India wishing to die fighting for Bharat Mata.[/LEFT]

I agree with you. The government is responsible for the abysmal condition of Air Force. After 71 war, it was decided that our Air Force will maintain the minimum 70 squadran of fighter crafts, but today, we have approximately 30 - 35 squadrans. In 1980, the LCA (Light Combat Aircraft) program was launched, but after 30 years, no output. We don't have any Indian engine for LCA. We are testing it on US engine. The problem is
bureaucracy, corruption, no transparency in the system, inadequate resources and funding. The government must maintain enough Fighter planes to tackle any unwanted situation created by China or Pakistan.

Lack of Resources ??

Lack of resources ?:rolleyes: and that too in India. If that be the case Governments would not be spending mone on Ambedkar parks and Shivaji Statues (Huge one planned near Bandra-Worli Sealink):mad:

We have money for dead icons but no money for living soldiers and fighting forces...what a pity. :(:(

We manufactured Marut, the dual engine supersonic fighter aircraft

We manufactured a supersonic aircraft in 1950 and after that we could not produce one LCA,
sad!
I don't know where is the fault

in 1950 marsal dasau was manufacturing Bi-Cycles, he manufactrued cars and aircrafts, He sold Mirage2000 aircrafts to India in 1985 the latest fighters at that time.
Why our HAL is so lazy????
Who is on fault?

dont know whose fault it is but definitly there is some problem in the mindset, workculture and lack of professionalism in goverment projects.
we all know about HAL and itz accomplishments. there is one more government body which does research in Aerospace products (National Aerospace Laboratories, Bangalore). In last 20 years it produced two small aircrafts HANSA and SARAS (with imported engines). Fact is that they are not able to sell it even to government due to itz poor quality and design.
Finally the whole project is going to be scrapped soon just coz it dint achieve itz goal and dint even kept any hope :).
thousand of crores wasted :(
So this is INDIA. :)

Achievement or shame sir?? People don't want to work for their own country. what a pitty:boxing

Poor Education system may be reason!!

Hi,
The issue lies in the poor infrastructure for education and higher education specialy, fake university, part time courses. I hardly sees sponsor to higher education or research. JRF is so less that very few opt for that and even worse very few get those. Money is not channelized in good cause. And we hardly complain where we should.
While applying Visas only the US checks for approval and we dont have system to check that if the candidate used our money to educate and now going to serve US.many faults but no hope in near future.

yes, this may be a reason, Other reason can be our defence organisation are not doing enough. We only have few research centres. And other problem is that people are opting for other career streams than research. I mean people are leaving companies like DRDO and ISRO for MBAs and private sectors companies. Lot of money is being spent on defence but results are not good enough.
