Presently jatland does not provide information about date of birth of members. For a group to develope stronger interactive relations members of the group should know their birthdays so that either members or jatland administrator can send e-greetings on their birthdays.
We can think and discuss over this issue to develope a suitable system on jatland.

Absolutely right, we need that, and some more things like place of birth, age, education level occupation, in the profile of members.

Very good suggestion. And for married people like me Marriage Anniversary is also important.

How to start??
 
For quite some time I have been on another webcommunity site called http://www.echarcha.com( running on vbulletin ) , where they have a common thread for wishing Happy Birthday to it's members .

Users have an optional field in their profile where they can ; if they so want , enter their date of Birth along with some other optional contact info .

Now whenever a particular user has a birthday , this gets highlighted in the form of a link to that birthday thread , on the main page and the fellow members keep posting in that thread for wishing everybody , rather than starting a new thread for every member to wish him on his Big day .
It's something like this for todays date -

and the thing that I am talking about is on the extreme right below the active users list .
 
its 20th march 1980 ....so lets see how many wishes I get ...and that may also justify this post.....
