Dear Members,
Some of our community members met at Saraswati College Gaziabad, (NCR). The following points were decided on :
1. The need for unity of efforts was felt and agreed upon. A data bank of volunteers who are willing to do a little or more needs to be created.
2. The participants decided to meet after a month and present/share the work done by them during the month and subsequently decide on future actions. The activities decided on, were - Motivational talks in village schools, helping in placement/jobs and/or promoting any social cause.
3. Though the social issues (female foeticide, girl education etc) have to be addressed straight away, the long term remedy of spreading education and awareness have to be worked on.
I Request the members of the community to join in this effort. At the end of one month from now you are requested to give us a feed back of any action taken by you. We will organize a proper event to meet, share and decide.
WE HAVE BEEN SHARING COMMENTS FOR A LONG TIME. NOW LETS SHARE SOME ACTIONS.
Warm Regards
Navin

Glad to see that you also believe in action Navin. There are tons of talk and hardly any action. So i hope you pull all of them together and motivate them to start taking action so slowly we can see results.

Best wishes

Hi Navin

I'm willing to join your team. It's a great project & it would be my pleasure to serve our community. This time I missed DJM but next time i'll make sure that i'll be among you all.

hmm

Priti ji, yes, we have decided that the december meeting will be organized in coordination so as to accomodate maximum members from india and abroad who are coming here at that time.
Dev sir, baljit ji and sanjay ji, thanx
Yes, its time to act. formalities can be done in due course of time.
I would request all members to work in this direction. How? Well, try any of these actions
1. Try to find out whats going on in your village viz a viz education/development/health and hygene.
2. Make a haryana/raj/up roadways visit to ur village and meet the sarpanch. More importantly, visit the school, meet the principal/teachers and if possible talk to the students.
3. look around and see whats needed and what you can do.
4. In your relatives/friends/aquaintances try to find a boy who has not settled himself (there r lots of em) and try to help him by motivating him, guiding him and assisting him. Make sure he starts something. once he starts he will learn to improve.(it could be a girl too but unemployed boys are very large in number)
We need members who say, "i will". No waiting for the right time.

Dear Navinji,
Its very heartening to your efforts and we share our sentiments with points raised in minutes of your meeting. It was nice to see your mail because few of us were also thinking in the same line, in fact few members from Jatland had started up this group Jatland Seva which currently comprises of odd 30 people and some of them are from Delhi (you might be knowing that already if not than PritiJI can describe:-) )... we were also thinking of meeting sometime in late Dec(? not yet decided) and S. Tokasji might be able to gather some more people from his contacts... if its possible to have our meeting together it will be really good. In fact if you are interested, or anyone from your group is, you can join our group(or just lemme know) we can be mutually helpful to eachother..

We discuss various similar issue there. The idea of visiting villages is something we were also considering. Your experience and knowledge of local issues will be helpful.

BTW your signature JAAT MARA TAB JAANIYE JAB TERAHVI HO JAAY is nice and was originated at time of death of Surajmal, after his death the enemy Najib Khan didn't believe that such a warrier could actually die (they didn't get corpse, though somebody got both arms cut) so he waited whole night on battlefield, only when there was no Jat left on the field he returned. That why its being "Don't believe a Jat to be dead till thirteenth day"[source, Qanungo's book]

Thanks

- Vinod

Not the river, not the wind, not even the Wolf. The Raven came and said "The Wolf is hungry. If you stop talking, you'll hear him. The wind too. And when you hear the wind, you'll fly." So he stopped talking. And became its nature, the Eagle. The Eagle soared, and its flight said all it needed to say.

Getting together

Dear Vinod Sir,
Thanks for your reply to my post. We are and will plan a community meeting in november end/ december. We will decide a suitable date for people comming from abroad and all over India.
1. We will share activities accomplished and experiences.
2. We will do some brain storming for furture actions.
3. We can also organise a small cultural event and/or a visit to villages. My Nanaji happens to be a very proactive sarpanch and we could gain the experience of having an ideal village and a role model.
We need to coordinate well on this.
Warm Regards,
Navin Gulia
As for my signature - thanks for appreciating it. I firmly believe in this Jat determination that even after my death I am going to work for sometime.

Guliaji, plz ye Sir wir mat lagaiye... mein to chhota sa bachha hoon:-)) anyway, we are currently discussing about our meeting... our meeting time seems like more in Dec than Nov... if there is possibility of meeting together we will certainly work together... if by any chance we aren't able to have a formal meeting, I will try my best to meet you and Nanaji... we will discuss this offline...

Seems like there are lots of parallel activities going on in different groups. Would be great if we could co-ordinate the efforts. Would be very happy to visit villages in haryana/raj/up. My own village is in delhi and must be completely industrialised now. But thanks for putting the idea in my head. Many of my relatives say in haryana so i can always go and visit them.

Navin, do keep us posted when you're meeting...would be great if its in december as many of jatland seva people would also be there in december.

Please dont put JI after my name, like vinod, i'm also a bachcha :o . And he gets an excuse to put smilies with my name when referred with ji!! :(

yes

Exactly, there are a lot of paralell thoughts going on and they need to unite. We will fix as appropriate a date as possible to accomodate everybody.
We are a distance away from implementing/claiming any creditable action on ground. Work needs to be done.
We need to work as a community.

The 'Ji' becomes necessary coz if the person you are talking to happens to be a person elder to you, he may take offence. But now that you have told me
Priti and Vinod, best wishes, looking forward to the december meeting.
