Define BJP

Hi all,

As you all know that BJP have a very small base/existence in Haryana and I personally havent heard much about them other than the follwoing things

1. Ram Minder Issue and Hindu Ideology
2. Paise valu ke party (baniyo ki party)
3. Alliance with INLD
4. Sangh parivar connection
5. Alternative for Congress

I would like to hear the opinions of the senior members of the fourm and from people who have better knowledge and understading of Indian politics.

What are the main policies of BJP and how it is different to congress (on policy and cultural front) ? Why they aren't successful in Haryana ? and lastly, what are the main achievements of atul ji and advani ji?

I just hope to have a better understanding of the BJP party !!!

Also, please provide positive and negative sides/contrast of the BJP vs Congress !!

Not very much informed on Politics but on a general level there was a phase few years back when BJP was very very strong and it looked the best party to take the nation forward.

In Atal , they had a man with a lot of substance , experience and capability to do good things and no matter how much people criticise now of BJP leaders but they really had a good team.

They were a party who moved ahead youth leaders , they were technical somehow , there were educated people in there and in the 4 years in which Atal was at helm , a lot of infrastructure development took place.

It was a pity that nation did not gave them a second chance to prove themselves.


I personally was a fan of the way BJP used to run and also seen BJP and its working ways in my local area ( Palam Colony , Delhi , LS constituency : Outer Delhi ( that time )).
But as all good things , it was short lived and the way things are taking shape today , its going from bad to worse.

Ideologically its a pity that they are categorised as discriminators , personally I believe that they did a mistake of positive discrimination to the "majority". Congress does the same , but they do this positive discrimination to the "minority" and get accolades for the same.

Was reading a forward today , talks about the Ant and the Grasshopper oldd story and its Indian Context , pr etty funny but ironical in some sense. Its the usual story in India that "issues" ( and when I talk about this word , Parvez Musharraf's core issue comes to ma mind always ) are not really the issues. Most of time we "Waste" time. That is what the BJP of the old did not do as per me.

They were swift , mobile , agile to me.

Since I am out from India for over two years now , things must have changed for sure.
