Even though the distance is not more than 30-40 KM from ggn = ~20miles. Which in other countries takes 15-20 mins. In Delhi it takes 2+ hours on bike ... maybe 3 hrs by car.
I don't know what the hell they are doing. Kati beizzti kara ke chhodenge. Lashkar-e-Toiba ne nyaare plan bana rakhe honge bomb phoodan ke.

Beizzati toh unki hoti hai jinki Izzat ho. Besharam ki kya beizzati. If all the infrastrucutre was ready now, it will give one year to test and fine tune all the preprations. Such massive undertaking needs alot of Q&A. But again common sense, national prestige, nations pride are foreign concept. CW games are used as another avenue to siphon off money via corruption. It is in the interest of these babus and thekedars to delay everything because under panic govt will throw more money at them to finish the project. Its a win-win situation for all involved.:rock

The athletes who show up and perform at smaller venues will be on the lookout for a bomb blast.
You will also notice that public involvement in this is nil. If the public - especially Resident associations was involved and proviede with funds to spruce up their locality, they would do a better job than these sarkari donkeys - I am sure some of that money would be stolen but it would be ten times less than whats stolen now.

on a serious note, i think these slayers will definitely plan to strike during CWG'2010. they seek excuses to avenge their loss of hosting international tourneys. God forbid, if so happens it'll be a terrible blow to india. we really gotta tighten up with all security measures.

Not sure about whether delhi government is ready to host or not..But they(Aussie) are ready to come..Hockey team is going to participate in WC 10.. Chidambram...I remember when he was on NDTV and was reacting to the Pakistan unwillingness to act when they released Hafiz Saeed.. When being asked what Government is doing on this..He goes ..."We have send them a dossier with all of the details about these terrorist..But its in Pakistani Government domain..We cannot do anything further on this..I think this is atrocious." It is impossible to guarantee total safety anywhere in the world. There is a big difference between bombing a soft target like a bakery and attacking a high-profile target with strong security cover. How many Netas get killed in terrorist attacks?
I understand that..But passing such official statement makes the difference...Does hurt the reputation of a country i think! (Though IPL is not a Government Body but still it does).
God knows what politics is going on behind the scene. Whether someone is trying to get IPL shifted (there is a precedence now) or if this guy is just trying to get more resources by speculating on security. But the job should taken away from him if all he can do is to wet his pants in public after being threatened by Al Qaeda.
