Funny thing about comments here is that everyone is focusing on gays. What about lesbians? Let's trash them as well!! No discrimination based on sex please, even in criticism. :D

Just a thought- with homosexuality becoming legal, are the "guys" worried that now they are also not safe from the unwelcome advances of men (read guys)?

with all the hype surrounding art. 377 .....one thing tht needs to be discussed is the attitude of the people in general towards the LGBT community....

scraping/amending the article does not change our prejudice/affection for them...or does it?? r gays suddenly lovable now tht homosexulity is legal??

also wht abt the bisexuals/transgenders??....no one gives a s**t abt the hijras...or has someone developed a soft corner for them....i dont think so...
these guys were even marginalised in the gay/lesbian parade tht took place couple of weeks back in Delhi...

so why so much noise???doesnot the media have better things to do??

btw...with all the discussion abt art 377 going on for the last week...the other news items like-- naxalism in WB nd the result of current operations, commonwealth games in danger of being scrapped etc etc.... have taken a back seat...

...a bit confusing...

Ok,
When you say "are the "guys" worried...", by that you mean as in the 'guys' who are not really guys but "gays" as in fags, pansies... or "men" that are straight, as in the 'men-folks' (where the term can be used without prejudice!;)) ...that have supposedly been trashing and thrashing these "bade-woh-hein" ;) folks all this while (and hence the supposed need to amend the law apparently)!???!...
and if not then on the same lines; when you say "now they are also not safe from the unwelcome advances of men (read guys)" by that 'guys' do you mean "men" (read guys) as in the "alpha males" who would now be so confused with the new law that they would forget running after the opposite sex of the species and start making 'advances' on these "happy"(read gay) people, or maybe actually what you really meant was the nelwy 'liberated-out-of-their-closets' "men" (though I doubt they can be called that at all - Delhi High Court has a new term for them; need to look that up;)) ... that is - the pansies who would now be trying to hit on... er, "advance" on folks that may be actually straight, and may not be covered under the new law ("to be 'consensual' or not to be, that... isn't that the question, Dear Watson!")!???!...;):D

Belly-velly confuuzing.......

Just kidding Anju, all in good fun...
:D

ps. But you know on an even lighter note, What the real worry is (or should be) frankly???...
The real worry (read confusion) is that NOW the Indian women would now never know who they themselves are making their advances on.... the 'men' or 'the men'.... Heh! Heh! :D

Holmes,
There are men who are not happy, and then there are men who are happy.
So, now men who are not happy will have to worry about the attention from the happy men who want to provide happiness to men who are not happy!!!!:)

And, how can you expect a bhartiya woman, with sanskar and family values, to make pass at men?? And to expect that from a JAT girl??? Thats unthinkable!!

Kuldeep brings up a similar (if with not too much of a departure) point similar to what Anju was asking...

...and I think the term that both their posts (of course if you kinda discount my trying to be funny about it earlier ) are trying to touch upon is called "Homophobia"...

...and so yes, the fact of the matter is that it's quite debateable that changing a law would address the deep-rooted prejudice in the Indian society in general against 'homosexuals' (thank you there, Kapil; am trying to be all-inclusive this time around... after all we absolutely cannot leave the "I-am-a-woman-who-likes-women-who-look-like-men" behind! ;))...

LOL!... righton!!!

So ok...All straight men, please be happy (What? ...you mean, as in 'gay'???)... wait, "noooo that's not what I meant!"... look, what I really meant was, all happy men, please live and let the 'men' remain unhappy.... HEY wait!!! NO!....that didn't work out either!!! :(....

Dang it, ol' boy!... I need my pipe and the violin, Watson!!!... this is too far beyond my normal deducing capabilities!... ("and please, it's elementary: don't get me started on this whole 'women don't make advances' debate, dear ol' friend...." :D)

Hijras are number 1 haramkhor.
They were probably trying to extort money the regular gays, lesbians with threats of throwing tatti, peshab at them at the rally.

a new thread...

It is fine here. As it is, no legal/rational opinions are being offered here on the strictly legal matter of HC doing away with provisions of an archaic law that violated the fundamental rights enshrined in the constitution. This will be more fun than homo-bashing, which has anyways reached the tipping point of the law of diminishing returns as far as entertainment value goes.

Baba Ramdev will challenge Delhi High Court decision in Supreme Court.
He says he can cure homosexuality with pranayaam. First, he needs to fix his bhaingi eye and then deal with the fags.

(Let me grab this not-so-subtle-hint)

Oh, we'd love to hear your experiences on this subject!! :D

Ha! Ha!... uh huh! Not biting, Kapil....

In any case it was meant to construed on a lighter note only: You see, it's An ode to this new, powerful, professionally independent role of the modern Indian woman!!!... and all things that comes with that!!! ;):rolleyes:

Actually HC's decision and the subsequent ruckus on homosexuality has been very good for hindu-muslim-sikh-isai unity. Every religious leader and his dog is out there homo-bashing.
