Dear Members,
The day for our meeting is drawing near. For a long time we have all been discussing (at times very passionately) about ways and means by which we can contribute towards the betterment of our community and society. When first time the idea about this meeting came up I immediately saw it as an opportunity for us all to get together and take the cause we have been talking about, forward.
The first stigma that we (Jats) have and we all accept it, is that Jats can never get together. Let us erase this stigma to begin with. Difference of opinion/views should not prevent us from getting together on a platform. Unity is strength. When we get together some good will definitely be done.
I found myself in a position to serve as a coordinator for this coming together and I have tried to do my best for the same. I will request and invite all members to be present on 25th Dec meeting and also for the 27th Village visit. The villagers are eager to welcome us (their enthusiasm and support is really encouraging).
Those who are not able to be present are also requested to contribute with their valuable inputs and views. The progress and outcome will be circulated to everyone through email.
25th Dec Meeting
Time: 10 am sharp
A few members (who wish to) can give a small few minute talk to present their thoughts. There after we will bring up the points for discussion and decision.
Points for discussion
Village Issues -
1. Improving the quality of education.
2. Encouraging Sports.
3. Health and hygiene.
4. Female foeticide.
5. Any other issues.
Organisational issues
1. How we can organize ourselves better?
2. How to mobilize funds, efforts and will for our future plans?
Tea/Snacks will be served during the course of the meeting.
Request members advice on this-
The families can also get together and interact in the school lawn. Lunch arrangement on individual payment wont be a problem. A small village troupe is willing to perform, I have kept them on stand by till the time I get recommendation/approval from the members for the same. If it is a sunny day we can enjoy the winter sun, if it is a foggy day we can have a bonfire.
VILLAGE VISIT -
27th Dec, Vill. Barhana, Dist- Jhajjar
45 min drive out of delhi.
10 am.
1. Welcome and Meeting with Sarpanch, panches and elders. We can discuss and get inputs.
2. A round of the village to see the work being done and the work that’s needed and to see for ourselves.
3. Desi lunch (courtesy villagers)- rice, wet khaand, daal, roti, Choorma, sarson ka saag aur bathue ka raayta.
4. Visit to school-
a) talk to students,
b) 100m race boys and 100m race girls, prize money 501Rs each sponsored by Bhai Sandeep Balyan.
c) Handball match between village barhana and dighal. They ve national players in their teams and it will be interesting to watch. Prize money 2100Rs. (Not yet sponsored.)
d) We as visitors can gift some sports items for the village or some books for the village library. The items/cash for purchasing them can be contributed on 25th Dec meeting.
I request everyone to join this effort and I also request all members to send me their acceptance with some contact detail. Some members have already very enthusiastically and encouragingly confirmed their participation - thanks for the same.
Everybody is requested to give their inputs. If some members (especially ladies) have some querries/apprehensions they can get in touch with me. Ladies will be present in good number. My wife Khushi will be there and in fact she has been and will be helping in making all arrangements. All ladies/girls are requested to be there.
