Democracy Indian style:

1. Mrs Jindal having no clue of politics, replces her late husband. One wonders what contribution Mrs Jindal will make as politician? Was it not enough to have her son in Politics?

2. Kiran Choudhary takes over the seat from her late husband with whom she hardly stayed.

3. Now its turn of Priya Dutt to take over from her late father Sunil Dutt. I wonder if anyone knows what Priya Dutt is known for..

Ofcourse still nothing like Rabri Devi taking over Chief Ministership from Lallu..

God Save India from such low level politics

uncle ji i totally do agree with u. indian politics is deeply suffered by many diseases like chaplusism, parivarvad,.... these diseases occured due to neglence of politics by layman and youths. hum log kewal chai ke pyalon mein toofan la sakte hai bt pehal nahin kar sakte...

It's continuing since ages...politics is just like dynasty in India...it is carried forward without vision. so...no surprises!!

Kiran Chaudhary is the former Deputy Speaker of Delhi Assembly, has sufficient experience in politics, knows the intricacies, is educated and was a strong contender for a ticket during last State elections. Similarly, Priya Dutt was the right hand of Sunil Dutt in managing his constituency. She came to limelight when her father walked through India as she walked with him from start to the finish. She has been managing the constituency of her father for quite long and is conversant with the problems there. I think she should be acceptable to the people of her father's constituency. But Mrs. Jindal ? A very bad choice indeed.

You are right uncle ji. She is perfect & well qualified candidate for her father's constituency.

Who is the Best

It is not the question of Priya Dutt managing her father's constituency or not? or for that matter any one else doing the same, the question here are these the best people available in these constituencies? I am sure the answer would be a big "NO". But this raises another question of whether or not best people are coming forward to take the challanges of the politics? The answer is again a big "NO".

Thus if the best people are not coming forward to take challanges of the politics, then we have to be contended with the fact of being ruled by the second best or for that matter who ever is coming forward to rule us. In most cases it has been a dynasty rule in the constituencies as well as at the top level. Why these few names, the list starts from Jawahar Lal Nehru, Indira Gandhi, Rajiv Gandhi, Ajit Singh, Om Prakash Chautala, Badal's son, Bhajan Lal's son and on an on ..........................

If we don't like then what is the answer? Let us come forward with the idea of finding an answer for the problem.

Not only that these family members are being given the right to rule these constituencies, we the public will also hail them and show up to gather of their glimpse, while the same public will not show up on the election day to vote and elect a right candidate. I remember, in 1974 elections in our constituency, only one cadidate was highly qualified and would have justice to the constituency, but he happened to be from then Jansangh, and lost miserably, for votes were given to the political parties and not to the individuals. If that be the pattren, then it really does not matter who represents your constituency.

Any views for the solution?

Col. Sahab,

The question is not whether there are good people available or not. Rather the question here is whether good people who really can deliver have the wherewithal primarily money and muscle power to contest election. Good people who want to come into politics are handicapped for want of money i.e. crores, to contest elections and good people with money don't want to enter the murky world of politics. Hence, we have no option but to bear them until the electoral system is changed or something providential happens. It's not that at present there are no good people in politics. There are many. However, they are either in minority or have to kow tow before their benefactors who brought them into politics.

Dear Sehrawat Ji,

Whether or not good people are there in politics does not make the difference. The difference would be if they deliever some thing which is good for Nation and the general public. If they are there because of some one and are working for the people who brought them into politics, then probably they might not qualify for the criteria of being good.

For good people to circumvent the requirement of having muscle power, or money would be the challange. The only way I see that challange can be met is by using the strength of the people they are going to represent. I am sure poeple's strength would be much powerful than any muscleman or any amount of money. In the ultimate analysis it is the vote that would matter and they have to come up with a plan to get that vote for confidence rather than muscle or money. There is no point in being good if they can't deliever.
