Reply from publisher on denigatory remarks about Jats in books

Hi members,

I found in a book Published by Sadhana Publications, Delhi in which there is a denigatory sentence about Jats, I have written following letter to Publisher. Our members at Delhi may take steps to correct the facts. Similar errors are there in NCERT text books also. We need to correct them. Here is my letter;

To,
Mrss Sadhana Publications,
K-4/4, Model Town,
Delhi – 110009.

Dear Sir,

I purchased the book titled

“हमारे पूजनीय तीर्थ और पर्यटन स्žथल” – Hamare Poojaniye Teerth aur
Paryatan Sthal, published by you.
I am living in Madhya Pradesh. On page 94 of the above book while
reading about Narsinghpur I find a sentence

“सन् १७८२ ई. के पश्žचात एक जाट लुटेरा .....नरसिंह पुर में आ बसा ।” –
meaning “A jat robber after 1782 AD .....settled in Narsinghpur .

I am pained to read this sentence. It is a very denigatory remark
about Jat community. You have not quoted any source for it. Jat rulers
were the founders of Narsinghpur. How can they be the robbers? I am
quoting what an international site says about this town:

“Narsinghpur or Narsimhapur is a town in Madhya Pradesh state of
central India. Narsinghpur is the administrative headquarters of
Narsinghpur District.
Narsinghpur has a large temple of Lord Narsingh. This temple was
constructed by Jat Sardar in the 18th century. Khirwar clan Jats came to
this place from Brij and founded the city of Narsinghpur, where they
ruled for a long period. Khirwars of Narsinghpur were followers of god
Narsingh. Here they constructed two temples of Narsingh avatar.” (See
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Narsinghpur)

There was a debate yesterday on this subject in Parliament which has
taken a serious view about this derogatory sentence about Jats who are
the protectors of this country.

Hope you will correct these facts in your book and intimate me.
Otherwise I will go to court to seek the redresal.

Thanks,
Yours faithfully,
Laxman Burdak

With reference to my letter dated 21-8-2006 sent to Sadhna Publication, Delhi, on derogatory sentence of a ‘jat lootera’ published in a book, the manager has sent the following letter in Hindi, which I have translated as under for the benefit of members.

I really doubt court cases solve any problems. More so the one about undoing false history. The so called experts that Courts will have to rely on are the same leftists and rightists, each with their agendas and prejudices.

Only viable option, though a painfully time consuming one, is acquisition of political power. The path shown by Sh Chhotu Ram in the last century is the correct way for the masses to regain their lost pride.

Power does not come by magic or fluke. Many Jats till today donot understand why they lost political power after 1990 when (before that) one upon another their Prime Ministers used to come. They became king makers of the country. Whether it was literary Charan Singh or less literate Devi Lal or Tikait all were having sway in Delhi.

I was stung to see when at Agra, Jat Mahasabha function went inconclusive about the reservation issue on OBC. It was participated by Tikait, Visvendra Singh and many other learned/experienced Jats. Half of them were opposing that we Jats donot want to join OBC. And even till today many are there who still do not understand the politics behind this. Jat was the natural leader of 80% rural population of India. It was Jat who was taking this population towards real permanent power to bring them at par with city's population and hence Mandal commission by Charan Singh. The rural people were also supporting Jats whole heartedly in this issue n Jat was also flung to the top by them repeatedly. By truncating Jats from OBC harm is done to both- Jat as well as remaining OBC's.

Its not always deletions that the Jats must be happy about it! Why not some inclusions also? That Jats were definitely there before Surajmal. Why cant we take this fight in supreme court????????? that why history ignores it before Surajmal? whether they (Jats) suddenly came from moon or mars immediately in reign of Surajmal??? who were dwelling here before Jats? and since when? whether Arayan invasion really took place? what was the age of vedas? where have they come from?

Too bad. Some people are still living under unnecessary pride>

Addition of correct history is the next step required

Dear Sir,

Kindly refer your above letters. I am happy that you have realized the mistake and taken cognizance of it about writing Jats as lootera in the book “हमारे पूजनीय तीर्थ और पर्यटन स्थल” – Hamare Poojaniye Teerth aur Paryatan Sthal” on page 94 of it. Kindly the following contents from page 94 may be replaced.

Contents from page 94 to be replaced

“सन् १७८२ ई. के पश्चात एक जाट लुटेरा ………… इस स्थान पर लूट की सामग्री से”

Substitute above contents with as follows

“सन १७८२ में बृज क्षेत्र से खिरवार गोत्र के जाट सरदार राव जगनरथ नरसिंह पुर में आये और नरसिंह पुर नाम का शहर आबाद किया । पूर्व में यहां एक छोटा-सा गांव था, जो 'गडरिया खेडा' कहलाता था । जाट सरदार राव जगनरथ के इष्टदेव नृसिंह थे । काफी समय तक इस शहर पर इनका शासन रहा । इन्होने”

Bharatiya Sahitya Sangrah is available on line on

http://vrihad.com:5200/bs/home.php?mean=32666

Now you see how Bharatiya Sahitya Sangrah defines Jat

जाट
Noe I have some objections

1. It does not mention about Haryana
2. Rajputana does not exist in this world
3. What is the basis of writing
4. See what example has been given ...

I would like to take the matter with concerned authority.

Jats in History Books.

My Grand Father's words make the most sence to me when I see that there is Nill or little mention of Jats on Indian Hisory Books,

He Says " Jats as a whole have never given Respect to the Kings and to Brahmins as they have been used to from other communitites as a result Writers of Histor (Kings and to Brahmins) have very pointedly left us out ofany mention in the history of India. "
