As India had a great victory over Sri Lanka (Rank 2...World Wide(Before 6-1)).
Hoping the same upto worldcup 2007.
Dhoni did brilliant.
Rahul did very well.
Rest all also did very well.
Credit to Team as a Team & Coach Chappel also.
Enjoy & Best of Luck for Indian Cricket Team for SA series.

Nadar bhai, proud of Team India ! infact all did well. Let us give Full credit to that Videshi chap ...Called chappel. He knows how to inspire people. kudos to him and the captain ...Drawid. Good goings...and keep it up! Yes Dhoni and Pathhan wre special.

Dhoni ne sehwaag ki tarah doodh pee ke kamaal deekhaya ;)... his sixers are amazing .. the way he got out today was unbelievable .. it was way up in the air for so long !!:eek:

Its high time sehwag fires !! else the doomsday is very near !! :p
 
Interesting Series

I had said in my earlier posts that, keeping your cards close to your chest and coming out with some thing unpredictable is the key to success. Unconventional results require unconventional actions. It was purely because of this reason that I favored Sehwag for the job over Dravid as during his stand by duties and in Sri Lanka, he looked too predictable.

Thanks to the Coach, we are trying new things and they are working. The opposition really don't know with what the team will come up with, and that keeps them guessing. This has also given some incentive to the younger players, as they now know that they won't be sitting on the bench for the entire series. They now know that they will get their chances and they need to do well on those limited opportunities. Venugopal Rao probably missed those opportunities, while Gautam Gambhir encashed it. So has been the case with Dhoni, Raina, RP Singh and Sresanth. I don't know how come VRV Sinigh got included in the team while not fully fit. That needs to be investigated.

I think building a strong bench is as important as buildinig a team. This series has been the team effort as against individual brillinaces.

Congratulations to the team for an excellent performance. The road ahead is tough in the year, and they need to maintain the momentum.
 
Team India gave a brilliant performance in this series.

Dekan yeh hai ki yeh South Africa ke against kesa perform karte hai..... As you know south africa have won continously 19 matches ..... they need only 4 matches to make world record... .

I am happy that team performed well. I think it would be difficult for Ganguly to regain place in the team. But I think he'll get last chance to perform...let's see how it goes!

But I am sure it's going to tougher with South Africans...

I remem.. the words of a west indies player donno name he said " India is like a black horse on the next moment nobody can say what they will do "

so lets see SA wale bhi godyan pe hi jawenge apne gharan.

Dhoni Dhoni Dhoni finally after long search we have got a Boforce . After his 183 not out in 3rd ODI Siddhu said according to some formar indian coach "" Dhoni dhota kam hai nichodta jyada hai , wo marta kam hai ghasit ta jyada hai.

Pathan and Agarkar are on the TOP now a days. We have got another champion in R P Singh.

Congrats to Team India...LaGe RaHo India.:rolleyes:

we indians have very short memory... Ek match jitte hi Team ko asman par chada dete hai and dusra match harte hi usko ek dam se zamin par laa patkte hai (And In this episode media plays major role)..
India have won this series by 6-1, very good .. we all should proud on performance of our Team India but meanwhile don't forget that they were playing at home and as you know India has a good wining records in home series.
So before commenting like anything dhoni nichodta hai... gasitta hai, we should watch the performance of team India and its player in forthcoming series.. Indian team has to show consistency (that we missed in past) in its performance... than we can hope for World cup otherwise... ??

Next series against South Africa will be a real test of Indian team... Let's watch it goes...

I think they Fought Well

Having lost 5 wickets for 35 runs, I think team played very well. Congratulations to Yuvraj, Pathan, and other tailenders to put up a fighting total. I feel the two run outs were crucial. Although Sehwag got out to one of the most spectacular catch, his recent run of failures is a cause of concern. I did not see the logic in sending Gambhir at # 6. If he was to be used as supersub, then probably, it would have been better to send him after the loss of first wicket itself and if not then certainly after the second one, for he is an opener.

I would prefer Suresh Raina to be made more permanent part of the team, as he does gives an option of bowling a few overs, like Sehwag and Yuvraj and is an excellent fielder. Md. Kaif needs to do justice to his position in the team and need to do well, like he did in Zimbabwe.

Probably another 30 odd runs and a little more disciplined bowling at the beginning of the innings would have changed the game completely.

Let us see how they perform in the second match.
 
Ganguly is back

All of you must have read about his inclusion in the Indian test team.

Do you think he deserve a place in the team??

I read in lot of newspapers that it will be difficult to accommodate him in playing eleven. Hindustantimes says that he may be included as second pacer in the team.

haha thts thr ... and this was quite obvious from the fact that he had been regularly bowling in ranji matches and takin wickets quite often. Let him join as second pacer and if included in playing 11 th 11th position would be safe for him :p

More Than Performance Alone!

I think it has some thing to do with the comments of the Board President Mr. Mahendra a few days ago,that probably got him in the Test Side. This is the golden opportunity for him to make a come back if given a chance in the playing 11, which seems difficult at this time.

Taking Ganguly as a bowling option while Zaheer being left out after outstanding performance in Domestic Cricket recently looks like a joke. He will be under a lot of pressure if given a chance to play in 11. It will be fun to see him performing under Dravid. We must not forget, he included Dravid in one day team only if he kept the wickets. I guess it is time to get paid back, as he will be in the team only if he can bowl well. With his medium pace stuff, I really wonder, how effective he could be under Indian Conditions. I remember only one series in Canada against Pakistan that he did perform very well as a bowler.

It will be interesting days ahead. I have nothing against him, He had been a wonderful player and have done exceeding well for the country during his career, but at this point of time, there are many younger players who have better claim for place in the team purely on their performance alone.

If I am not wrong , Ganguly has been included in the team as an allrounder and not a bowler. I think we have many other bowlers performing well and thats is why zaheer khan is not included. We can not afford to play 6 bowlers.

When Azahar was caption Kapil , Vengsarkar, Srikanth and Sahstri all played under him. So I do not think it should be a porblem for Ganguly to play under Dravid.
It was not only Ganguly only, no body wanted to include Dravid in one day team as his batting style did not fit the one day game in those days. only when he improved his batting according to the one day game , he was included in the one day team.

I am not sure if Ganguly will be included in the final 11 and even if he is included he will give some good proformance. and if he does not perform he should be dropped.
 
Performance Should be the only Criteria

Performance should be the only criteria for any player to make to the team. If we are looking for an all rounder Ganguly, well he is of some sort if the current match against Maharashtra is to be considered of any value. But at the same time, Munaf Patel can also stake his claims as an all rounder in that category purely on his performance in the same match.

Let us wait and watch as to where he fits in, with two spots available between Gambhir, Ganguly, Yuvraj, Kaif and Laxman. Ideally Gambhir should keep his place as an opener with one to be contested by rest of the four players.

Jaisa ki apko pata hai South Africa ne phir dho dala India ko... pata nahi Chapell ke dimag ko kya hoo gaya... Pathan se opening karwake achi kashi batting lineup ko chedne ka kya matlab... what he want to do ?:confused:

Hadh se jyada experiment bi ache nahi hote... Agle match maie agar Rahul dravid & Mohd. Kaif ko nahi boll de di jaye to surprised mat hona..

Dear Mukesh,

I don't think that would be the case, but in some situation to break a long partnership some times it works as well.

While, sending Pathan may not have been an ideal thing, but I am sure he must have discussed it within the team's think tank, which obviously would have included Sachin, Sehwag, Yuvraj, Kaif and Harbhajan apart from Dravid. The idea would have been to bring down Sachin later. However with the conditions helping the swing bowling, we have lost the toss, it would have been ideal to send in technically most accomplished player to open with Gambhir if Sachin was to be brought down the order. In that case probably Dravid himself would have been the better option. Bringing down Sachin after the first or second over did not serve the purpose in any way. I would say if Pathan card had failed, then their should have been flexibility to send in some one else than Sachin if initial purpose of the experiment was to save Sachin for middle overs. It is alway good to have an in-form batsman to walk in such situations rather then sticking to failing plan. Probaly Yuvraj would have been a better option at one down or even Sehwag or Dhoni.

Any way, we have lost an opportunity. Let us see how they can save it to draw the series now. Some experiments are bound to fail, so let us not worry about that. The problem is still the collective failure of so many players in one innings.
