There can be no place for the likes of Varun in Indian politics. Let's make sure every single politician of his ilk gets nothing from the electorate. Punish them with your vote - and hopefully politicians will see the folly of their divisive ways.

indeed this flare-up was pre-planned nd he is a winner all the way, through his act of beguiling the masses tht got him so much in such a short span... even the seniors like jaitley nd others are feeling envious of him. don't just out rightly reject this guy nd jump on conclusions like moron-heads, until you know more abt this guy... its a dirty politics nd you got to be dirty to get along. he is 25 and way to go... far better than the crap tht exists in todays politics.

The position taken by Khushwant Singh in his weekly write-up, 'With Malice towards one and all' is the best example of taking a balanced stand. If he criticizes the Hindus, he has guts to criticize the muslims as well.

We (Hindus) I presume (and hopefully right) through our school/college days are brought up on the staple diet of pseudo-secularism (please don't say this as it will hurt X's sentiments, please don't do this as this will hurt Y's sentiments). The media does not print (or under-reports) any news story if an illegal act is committed/perpetrated by any member/s of the MINORITY community in the name of maintaining national peace and amity.

It is time to change this 'Under Siege' mentality. What we need to do is to come out of the forced shell of MINORITYSM (or Majoritysm if there is any) with all being equal before the eyes of law.

If Varun Gandhi has committed a crime by vowing to safeguard his religion against the fanatics then even I as a follower of Hindu religion am equally at fault. The Congress/BSP are afraid of the political repercussions of Varun's speech and as a hasty decision have ironically, illogically and in an unfair manner imposed NSA on Varun. It seems their hands are tied, otherwise they might have even gone on to the extent of calling Varun's speech a blasphemy and hanged him publicly.

Every passing day we see new levels to which our politicians particularly the pseudo-secularists of the Congress and third front parties can stoop.

A day may come when we may no longer be surprised by their demeaning antics but they will still keep stooping.......

Tewatia sahab, there is not much to chose between incompetence and malicious intolerance, but if it came to that, I would choose incompetence over maliciousness any day. Thankfully it hasn't yet come to that, and we have plenty of competence to choose from as well. We just need to be careful as we exercise our choice!

dahiya saheb, i confer to your thoughts with great respect, which in fact are mine as well. :) stretching the discussion any further would be the biggest dishonour to your opinion and feelings and carry no meaning. i prey for the good sense to prevail among all indians. :)
 
BJP hamesa se media or tathakathit secular logo ke nisane par rehi he Varun NE kuch bhi galat nahi kaha.lekin dhire dhire sach samne aa jayega. abhi Lalu ne jo bola congress uska samarthan karegi. its the war beteween Nationalism & puedo seculirism.:rock
 
On Monday, the RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav had told an election rally in Kishanganj, 350 km from Patna, that had he been the home minister he would have run a "roller" over Varun Gandhi for his hate speeches against Muslims and bothered about the consequences later. "Yadi main home minister hota, uske chhati par roller chala deta. After going through the entire scenario I failed to understand what exactly the fault of Varun is? It's really sad that in order to increase the vote bank politicians are playing dirty games.

Update on Lalu's comment: "The Kishanganj district administration filed its complaint against Lalu Prasad at the Kishanganj police station in the morning, police said".
 
Now Nitish Kumar has also joined Lalu in passing comments on Varun Gandhi. He has said that no one should be allowed to spread fire. On asked as to what steps he would have taken against Varun in case he had made the remarks in Bihar. He told a TV channel. " I would have taken legal action. Such remarks are a crime under the law. We would have taken immediate legal action. If he has spoken, he has spoken. There is a CD. A charge sheet would have been filed based on his statement. No one should be allowed to spread fire in the country no matter how big the person is. People will stop giving such comments only after they start getting punished." On asked whether he would have invoked the National Security Act (NSA) against Varun he said, "I am a state chief minister. I would not like to react on what another state government has done until I do not check the documents,"
 
my view

In my view this should not be made such a big discussion because in India so much bigger culprits are there and bigger problems are there.

However in my view he said nothing specific to any community except Hindus.

Rest everything is politics and the sudden outburst from Varun should only be considered as Election's Effect.
 
A mountain out of a molehill has been created by Mayawati... when andhra pradesh congress chief can openly say" I will cut the hand of anyone who is against muslim" no NSA is slapped on him..
Varun may have done a wrong thing but he is no terrorist that NSA is levelled against him. Imam bukhari can easily evade inflammatory remarks.. batla house encounter may be fake but Varun gandhi's CD is original..??.
Excess of tolerance is also bad...
Gujrat saw years of hindu opperession and humiliation at the hands of muslim but it turned finally turned into something very serious. So don't ever confuse silence with peace.
 
Ohh very true ..bukhari vomitted out scintillating words standing there at babri masjid nd nothing was done against him but when varun voiced his thoughts RASUKA was imposed nd some politicians just to get muslim votes made a strong front against him, how mein!! .Now that he is out of the jail..he has come out more experienced nd satisfied cus he said what he wanted to say..he spoke his mind ,when one is able to speak his /her mind despite protests one feels relieved ..what else one wud want?.I must say that gd nd infact short ,curt ,realistic nd pragmatic reply BY MR.tejasvi.must say the best one till now ..idealism won't work today ,there is a strong need of radical action in every area of ENVIRONMENT!

Agar Varun Gandhi k ek Bayaan par NSA lagg sakta hai....toh for Raj Thakrey ko toh Faansi honi chahiye.... He has been giving statements for last 1 year and no one did anything against him.... Kya usko NSA k under nahi lena chahiye..... kahan gaya insaaf?

NSA revoked

NSA on Varun Gandhi has been finally revoked by Supreme court. Earlier UP state advisory council also did the same. Its kind of slap on the face of Mayawati govt. It was completely a political drama and Varun is the most benefited person in this whole episode. All of a sudden he is a national stature in Indian politics, probably next PM in making in 10-15 years, I mean after Narendra Modi.
