Dinner with Virender Sehwag Tomorrow

Dear All

Virender Sehwag, a prominent member of Indian Cricket Team, is visiting the northeast US for 4 days. Veeru - as he is affectionately called - is pride of not only the jat community but also the whole country. Apart from being a world class cricketer, he is a very fine gentleman, who does quite a bit of charity work with UNICEF and Shikhar.

You are invited to attend a dinner with Virender tomorrow (Thursday, July 19) at 7 pm at Crown of India, 660 Plainsboro Rd # A1, Plainsboro, NJ 08536 (Phone - 609 275 5707).

We apologize for the very short notice (and that too on a weekday) but that's the best we could do. Let's get together tomorrow and spend some time with this dashing but truly down-to-earth jat, who is a perfect example of "making it big" on sheer hard work and determination. You are invited to attend with your family, esp. kids, who will draw a lot of inspiration from our own "Veeru".

Dear Sanjeev,

Over 5000 test runs at an average of nearly 50, with 12 centuries as an opener by a middle order batsman, and you cal l it "TUKKA"? does not go well with me.

I have no problem for he being dropped on performance, however I do have a problem with the people replacing him for the slot. Wasim Jaffar has been as inconsistent as any one else including Sehwag. Purely this reason, I feel, Sehwag was a better choice for England, specially when we don't have Harbhajan in the team. He also bowls useful off spin and is a good fielder.

The best part of the story is, that in a very lopsided World Cup campaign probably he was the one who did score some runs, even if it was against a weaker team. He also did reasonably well in Ranji game on return socring a hundred. I think, his dropping from the test team is unfortunate and may for other than cricketing reasons.

He is a good prospect and I am sure he will bounce back soon. We as a community will have a nice get-to-gather this evening. I am getting calls from NON-JATs if they could come and see him. That is the popularity he has.

It was such a nice feeling to see most of the people of Jat Community showing up for the dinner at such a short notice.

Veeru looked much fitter but was quite. I guess, due to a very short trip and a busy schedule. He looked a man of very few words to me.

Our sincere thanks to Mr. Kapoor Singh and Mr. Dev Dabas and the office bearers of the AJA NE Chapter for organizing this event at a very short notice.

We as a community wish Mr. Virender Sehwag a very good luck. He is in probables for 20/20 world cup. I hope he gets selected and proves a point.

arre jeetu bhai aaj ghanne dina main tame likadda hai jat land tahi.par bhai saab aaj bahut nirasha hui aapki baat sun ke ne.bhai saab veeru ne mhare haryane ka naam roshan karra arr sarre jattan ke naam pe jhanda thaa diya india main.....parr aap nu keh ho ki wo badbolla hai.bhai saab ghanna bholla aadmi hain wo to.main ek baar mohali main milla thaa ustai..ghani badiya tarah baat kari arr bhai saab us barga player aaj tak team main nahi aaya.jaunsa har ball pe chouka ar chhakka bitha de hai.arr janab ek baat aur em not agree ki he is not doin well ..arre up and downs to insaan ke saath lagge hotte hai....uska madda hard time chaal reha hai.is karke logg ghanni baat banawe hai uske barre main.koi na ek din aapna veeru sabka muh band kar degga 4-6 marr ke ne.......remember last world cup.he was d only one ...........who played 4 india.not 4 himself,like others.
