(I have affiliation to no political party, only to my soil and my country)

Rahul Gandhi gives the impression of a child who keeps saying “mere papa ne ye kiya, mere papa ne wo kiya”
Does he know?

1. Jawaharlal Nehru -
a) used his proximity to Gandhi to become PM despite the fact there were many other more suitable leaders.
b) Nehru had made very little sacrifices in independence struggle.
c) Nehru said “I have no enemies and I don’t need an army”. Then when the Chinese attacked he said “throw the Chinese out”. He sent an ill equipped army in the Himalayas, without adequate clothing, weapons, ammunition or planning. We still cry for our martyrsin “ai mere watan ke logon”
d) When after so many sacrifices Indian army had captured back 3/4th of kashir and the army asked for a few more days to take whole Kashmir, Nehru declared unilateral ceasefire and went to UN, as a result Kashmir still remains a bloodshed.
e) Everything in this country is named after Nehru or some on e from his family as if no one else has sacrificed for this country.

2. Indira Gandhi –
a) India Army won the 71 war in 14 days, 90,000 prisoners taken. Indra Gandhi returned everything and we didn’t even get our POW’s back who have been tortured in Pak jails for ages.
b) Befriended Jernail Singh Bhindrawale for political benefit in Punjab and he was the one who captured golden temple and formed khalistan army. My father was posted at amritsar and I have seen trucks full of bodies of Indian army soldiers. The first battalion was Madras regt which was completely wiped out. By the way the first army officer to enter golden Temple was a Sikh officer who had volunteered to enter first. He received bullet injuries and was taken as dead, he was being taken for cremation when some one noticed movement in his body. He went on to become the adjutant of ima(Col Raina), I am fortunate to have met him.

3. Rajiv Gandhi –
a) Indian army had been training and aiding LTTE all the time and Rajiv Gandhi signed a pact with Sri Lanka and sent Indian Army to fight some one elses battle. How many lives we lost? Well, two of my classmates lost their father and my best friend lost his elder brother.
b) Does Rahul Gandhi have any idea how many tamils and how many Indian soldiers were killed because of his decision.

every text book teaches our kids that nehru gandhi family is the greatest family of india. what about the millions who have sacrificed for this country. the country doesnt even know the birthdays of other martyrs. if they were so great why couldnt they make our country a Japan in 60ys of their rule.

If he wants to do something for the country he should get to some ground work rather than praising what his papa did.

Bade aadmi se galtiyyan bhi badi hi hoti hain...
When nehru was PM,Our country was in rebuilding state,There was requirement for Houses and Hospitals then Army. Moreover he thought if we have good relations with our neighbouring countries then we dont need to spend money in defence and rather use it for other expenses. But China betrayed...so it was not fault of Nehru...But it was a diplomacy which went wrong because of ill mentality of china.
Nehru was one of the top most leader in 1947 and he was qualified with knowledge how to deal foreign ministers.Sometimes you need able man than the influential man.Others were influential in india but were not who can talk in league with Churchil(UK PM) or others.
When after so many sacrifices Indian army had captured back 3/4th of kashir and the army asked for a few more days to take whole Kashmir,But this thing happened in time of Lal Bahadur Shastri also, when indian army was there at Lahore, but has to withdraw force.Because India was a poor country and has to follow orders of powerful and that was in a way right. What u will say when Indian BSF officers are being Killed by Bangla Desh Rifles...
Nehru was a true socialist,he was not aggressive like sardar patel but he has vision and he did lot for the poor state of country of 1947.

Indira gandhi was a brave and agressive lady. She was hero of 1971.No one can match win of 1971 with anything...She did some wrong things but she was bold...
She made Bhindrawale,But it was only indira gandhi who ordered army to march into Golden Temple, can anyone todays politics take this sort of decision...She was leader in Non alignment movement at that time of cold war.Now its dead movement...She made bangladesh and now bangladesh creating so many problems but leadership unable to stop...Emergency was unfortunate but in india u can bring a change only through tough decision...
Rajeev Gandhi was a new wave,He tried to bring so many changes in the indian politics but was unable to handle so much corruption.
IPKF was sent to Srilanka otherwise chinese army would have come there..And Sri Lanka would have become chinese puppet and more problem for indian army...
Its easy to criticise but tough to take decision...
I am not a Congress supporter but these were really good leaders as u see today.....

Bhai Yatinder,
Every child is spoon fed that these were great leaders, every chapter in the school textbooks gives this to children on a platter.
Today, Rahul Gandhi says 'my family' as if the entire lot of congress leaders who have given their life serving are a nothing.
50yrs of unquestioned rule and our country has same poverty, same issues.
i would love to give them a 10 on 10 had i seen my country in a better state.

Nehru was given enough opportunities to realise the chinese mistake beforehand, he closed his eyes.
It was not that we didnt have leaders who could represent our county.

71 war wasnot Indra Gandhi's masterpiece as Rahul gandhi is claiming, it was the success of military leadership of Indian Army. Army captured 90,000 prisoners and the politicians couldnt get back our fer hundred prisoners from pakistan.

We can always have reasons for committing a mistake but that doesnt rectifythe mistake.

why is my country not a Japan or Germany or America.
At the time of independence japan and Gemany were much behind India and were totally destroyed. Today they are so much ahead of us.
Somebody should owe the responsibility for the state of affairs.
For 50yrs congress had absolute unquestioned majority. It is they who set up the system we blame today.

Vision?
Making village women make bidi, papad, candles and aggarbatti is vision?
We are largest exporter of iron ore to Japan who make electronnics out of it and sell to us at 1000 times the rate. It is vision.
They have never wanted the village conditions to improve. So they will only teach village people how to make bidi and papad.

We cant put everything on government.U are saying Government is not doing anything...Okay i am giving u examples...
Govt has given schools in nearabout all the villages...r they well maintained...no ...this is responsibilities of villagers to maintain and clean them properly...Govt cant go after each school...Govt has given teachers...but they r not teaching in govt school becoz they dont want to teach...wat govt should do...Once govt made rule that result oriented teachers...Teachers started concept of NAKAL..is govt responsible...
I have seen condition of Govt hospital, dispensaries etc etc in villages,Sarpanch dont want to spend penny on that..Then is it govt fault no its village's collective responsibilities...
In villages people dont clean their street or sometimes their home..its not govt fault...
Naveen bhaai...Japan,america etc etc are not made by govt but by people, who worked hard to make succesful...Their people are honest..Indian are not honest...They are hardworking,we are not hard working...
Govt started a scheme for village water supply that villages should collect one tenth portion of money, govt will give ninth tenth(9/10)...But still village people r not able to collect, bcoz there is no unity between them...They dont want to help themselves...
There are so many countries where there is no stability in leadership but still they are developing...bcoz people are hardworking,honest,disciplined.....
We are ruled for centuries...so now its in our blood that we work only when we are forced to work...Thats why all govt institutes/factories are in bad shape...

Totally agree with you Navin....

Bhai Yatinder,
Dekh liye bahas mai tu e haaraiga, nyun e nahin chhodun main.
Anyway, jokes aside.
Government has never encouraged education/development in villages.
How a party takes votes from a village let me tell you:-
1. Bhai thaari gali mai paani ki thhuti (tap) lagwa diya. To is gali ke vote pakkes.
2. Is gaam mai 10 aadmiyon ko naukri lagwaa di bina qualification ke.
3. Gotra aur jaat ke naam pe vote.
4. Paise baant ke vote.
5. Daaru baant ke vote.
6. Logon ko bhadka ke vote.
7. Caste reservation – the poor sc/st have not received anything, no education, no opportunity.

Ever since the time of Nehru politicians have ruled this country by manipulating the illiterate masses and keeping them illiterate.
If Nehru selected English as the medium of education in our country why is it that Govt schools don’t have English medium till date. Because poor kids go to Govt schools and they will never learn English and never get good jobs.

The masses have been deliberately kept illiterate to rule over them. One Govt comes gives jobs to 1000 unqualified people(who supported their party) takes their votes. Next Govt comes and fires them and gives their jobs to own people.

The masses are not illiterate out of choice, they have been kept illiterate.

Indian village women could make electronics but these people made them make papad and bidi and gave them 100rs salary and took their vote.

Have you ever seen them say a word of praise for Bhagat singh or Subhash Chandra bose. They have only called them misled people. By the way, for your info, subhash Chandra had defeated Mahatma Gandhi in the general elections of congress and he left only because he didn’t believe in begging in front of the British for independence. Today rahul Gandhi wants his family to take complete credit for independence of our country showing utter disrespect for the millions who died fighting for our country. Nehru and Gandhi could have saved Bhagat Singh but they didn’t because there was a danger of him becoming a bigger figure then them. When the country was being partitioned they acted spineless and millions died in the riots of partitioned. Do you think subhash Chandra bose would ve agreed for partition.

You are tryng to put the blame on illiterate masses for being illiterate?

Defense and development are integral part of a nation's development. You can't take one away from another, even though they are contradictory in terms of use of money. That is why you need good managers, who know where to draw a line. Regarding, bade aadmi se badi galti: I don't know what is the definition of Bada Aadmi? To me, a poor farmer who within his limited resources is able to develop his family by providing them two meals and good education is much more "Bada Aadmi" then the one who inherits a legacy to live on. While I don't discount Mr. Nehru's contribution to India, he did make numerous mistake for his political gains. Mr. Naveen has pointed out some of them in excellent manner. Other issue is of reservation. As the PM of the country, with his party enjoying two third majority, he should have struck to the original deadline to terminate the reservation in 1959-60 rather than extending it. While many may say that the SC's did not get adequate benefit in 10 years that it was planned for, my argument is that who failed in that. Nehru was part of both its conceivement and implementation. I look at it as the failure of the central government. Extention of the reservation was not the answer. Mr. Nehru should have answered the tough questions of its futility. But then scrapping reservation may have costed him the power.

1965: Anothe Congress PM, who happen to be my role model made another fatal mistake. Handing over "Hazi Pir" pass to Pakistan. Some mistakes are so costly that they can't be defined. The consequences of Hazi Pir pass not being with us are going to be there for rest of our lives and that of future generations unless we get it back. And let me assure you all, that is not going to be easy.

1971: Ideal opportunity to solve the Kashmir problem. Yet we failed. Simla agreement needed one line: "All previous agreements are null and void". The LC would have been the IB and that would have been a better solution.

1987: LTTE: Less we talk about it better it would be. Mr. Naveen has said enough on it.

However all is not bad. Mr. Rajeev Gandhi was the first PM who installed the Education Policy in India. To me he looked honest in his first reaction to a problem, but then that changed overnight due to the political leaders surrounding him. The national interests are set aside when it comes to retaining political interests of the party people represent.

Rahul Gandhi's statements in recent UP election are childish to say the least. I think he would be the reason for Congress's defeat in UP. I would prefer Congress/BJP in UP as against BSP or SP, for the simple reason, that the CM will be watched by some one at Center. Just a Check, how effective that would be is any one's guess.

Right thread started here. Given a so long past of ruling of Mughal dynasties n then Britishers, n all others before Mughals. Only a dumb head leader would expect peace from a stronger country. "Panchsheel n Hindu chini bhai bhai". Bhala takatvar aur kamzor key beech bhi sandhi houti hai kabhi?

Rest apart, given the freedom he enjoyed being in power, this family has done worst damage what it could do. Mistakes after mistakes. N still, his family thinks that india owes a lot to them.

"You know that when any member of my family had decided to do anything, he does it. Be it the freedom struggle, the division of Pakistan or taking India to the 21st century," - Rahul Gandhi.

Had it been possible to change old history, and Whole Nehru dynasty was deleted, India would be lying atleast 20 years ahead of what it is right now.

Hope someday will come, when our country rises n throws out all these Nehru company n all others who are exploiting India. N it will come.

Sometimes I feel he is mentally retarded!

With no formal education and hardly any exposure to hardship in life, he is a typically spoon fed baby.

Navin bhai congresss mein Chatookaron ki kabhi bhi kami nahi rahi, aaj bhi nahi.

Aise hi kisi Chatookar ne kuchh line ratwa di aur wo 'tote' ki tarah unka istemaal public mein kar deta hai.

Colonel saheb is right in saying that he is not going to gain much for the congress but harm its chances to some extent.

Thanks for understanding and supporting the point i was trying to bring out. I was scared bringing it up because every child's mind is brainwashed to believe that this was and is the greatest family.

Respected Col Tavathia Sir, some one has rightfully said that the politicians have lost all the wars army won for them.

Bhai Sid, I am pasting the matter of the article link you posted. I am not against anyone in particular but it is very important to see the other point of view and for the masses to know how they are recieving the bad part of the deal.

An Article on a Blog by Amit Varma
Last week I caught an episode of the charming show, Koffee with Karan, in which Karan Johar was chatting with Shobha De and Vijay Mallya. I enjoy the rapid-fire round on this show, because it reveals much about the celebrity-culture of our times, as well as about our celebrities. One question Johar asked De and Mallya on the show stood out: “Rahul or Priyanka?”

Now, Johar wasn’t asking De and Mallya which of the two Gandhis was better looking or suchlike. He wanted to know who they preferred as a politician. There was an implicit assumption that one of them is certain to be a future prime minister. This has nothing to do with with their political skills or leanings, of which little is known. It is all about their last name, which is the most powerful brand in the biggest market of India: our democracy.

Rahul understandably wants to exploit this, and build the brand: a few days ago, while campaigning in UP, he spoke of how the Babri Masjid would never have been demolished had the Gandhi family been active in politics. It’s natural for Rahul to invoke the Gandhi brand, given the resonance it carries in this country. But it’s also somewhat ironic. Despite their iconic status among our economically illiterate masses, the Nehru-Gandhi family has been nothing but disastrous for our country.

Jawaharlal Nehru was one of our foremost freedom fighters, but the freedom he fought for was restricted to the political domain. Once the British had been ousted, he replaced them with a new oppressor: the Indian government. He distrusted free trade, and once famously told JRD Tata that profit was “a dirty word.” He shackled private enterprise with a license-and-regulation raj and tried to build a command economy where the state was all-powerful. His fatal conceit, to borrow Friedrich Hayek’s phrase, ensured that India limped into the modern age while other Asian countries, once behind us, leaped ahead.

One can be charitable and say that the well-intentioned Nehru was a creature of his times. It is hard to give his daughter similar benefit of the doubt. Indira Gandhi not only took Nehru’s policies forward at a time when it should have been obvious that they weren’t working, she systematically began to strip away the little economic freedom that existed in the country. In colleges it would make good material for a course titled “How To Savage An Economy 101.”

She nationalised all our big banks. She stopped foreign exchange from kick-starting the country’s development, and thus creating employment and productive growth, with the Foreign Exchange Regulation act in 1973. The Urban Land Ceiling Act of 1976 distorted land markets, thus raising land prices and aggravating the problem of slums in cities. The Industrial Disputes act (1976 and 1982) distorted labour markets and acted as a disincentive to industrial expansion. And so on and on.

With our natural strengths, India should have dominated labour-intensive manufacture and become a manufacturing superpower decades before we started doing well in services, but Jawarharlal and Indira never let that happen. The consequences of Indira’s policies look dry in economic terms, but by perpetuating poverty and shackling growth, they unquestionably had an impact on millions of lives.

Indira attacked more than economic freedom, of course. The emergency was a period of shame for our country, and yet, quite what you’d expect from a leader who took ruling India as a birthright. Her son, Sanjay, had authoritarian instincts even more pernicious than hers, but we were thankfully spared his rule. Rajiv Gandhi, when he took over, seemed a good man, if an inexperienced one. But can naïvete – he was in his 40s during his prime ministership – serve as a suffiicient excuse for, say, Shah Bano, or the foolish intervention in Sri Lanka?

Sonia Gandhi, while she had the character to refuse the prime ministership, also has all the wrong ideas. Her doubts about foreign investment and her support for well-intentioned but short-sighted programs such as the Rural Employment Guarantee Act demonstrate that the lessons of the past haven’t been learnt, and that the communists in the UPA aren’t the only forces holding back India’s progress.

It would be unfair to hold this shameful legacy against Rahul Gandhi. Even if political leadership comes to him as inheritance, he may turn out to be his own man, and recompense for the sins of his forefathers. But here’s what worries me: the best we can do, in our elite drawing rooms watching elite TV shows reading elite papers like Mint, is hope that he turns out well. Of his coming to power, there is no doubt at all. Isn’t that scary?

its time for jats to realize and perform their role for india future. jats should become prime minister and president of the india. we all talk a lot on whats wrong with india and offer our great opinion about it. its time for jats to unite and organize under one cause, we owe it to our children and we owe it to our ancesters who gave their lives fighting for our country.
Rahul is not a gandhi, he is a great grandson of a nehru. we need to tell him the truth about his family and the fake last name they use namely gandhi to gain emotional support from the poor and uneducated of india. its time for jats, the ancient ruler of india, decendents of kings to reclaim their throne.

Revealing and interesting information after a long time (here).
We as indian need to introspect ourselves, learn from our mistakes. More people do it, better it is.
I think Rahul has lost it. this guy looks shaky from the start. Totally immature behaviour. God save india, if such people are lined up for the race to top leadership.
Navin bhai u need to do something, country needs u.

Bhai Ramesh, the country needs each one of us.
I dont know whether we all will be successfu or not but we should make a damn good effort.
We owe it to every single person who has sacrificed his life for this country.

Yatinder,
The government is not wrong, its doing what expected out of it. From your post looks like you donot expect much from the government - so they dont do anything. This Indian mentality of treating the government as mai-baap sarkar is responsible for the government treating the citizens (I prefer call us 'subjects') like ****. You always need to be apprehensive of what the government says or does, never trust them, never respect them. Always be ready to criticize and oppose the government - that is the essence of democracy. Power corrupts - its your duty to keep the government morons in check.

The so called "achievements" you listed, well I consider all those things a big policy mistake. The government should have never started all these ventures, they should have let private enterpreneurs do all that. It would have been much better.

Let me ask you a simple question?
If you pay taxes to the government, what do you expect in return???
Right now you are getting nothing and on top of that you get harassed by police, govt agencies. Something does'nt sound right. Think about it!!

We cant put everything on government.U are saying Government is not doing anything...Okay i am giving u examples...

haan bhai yatinder bhai sid ki baat sahi sai
once i saw a senior doctor scold a junior doctor "you are not doing social service here, you are doing a job and you better do a good job"
same applies to the govt, they arent doing social service, they are doing a job and they better do a good job.

Navin Bhaai...
I am agree with u that govt should do its job in a better way,But what u feel people dont have any duties.U write so many things for their right but didnt write single thing about their duties.People are not ready to do their basic jobs and this makes govt failure...
A MCD sweeper has duty to clean the road,he is getting pay for it,But he is not doing his duty...Tell me who is responsible...He is from us and we will make Govt. responsible for it,But never talk about who is responsible.
There are so many schemes Govt has started but finding no one taker for them...
I am not defending Govt. or Gandhi family,But only thing that its easy to criticise than to work or doing duties...You are saying there is corruption in govt,But its everywhere my brother...U see any department and its we people who are doing it...
We have not developed like germany/USA for last 50 years,But we have developed a bit.We have problems like Population, this is major hurdle in development and Govt/Gandhi family is not responsible for it.Its our culture and people's mentality, they prefers sons than daughters......Govt has started family planning but still its not successful...
Govt started Pulse polio but still its not reached its milestone...Who is responsible????

Simply expecting from Govt will not make our country great, its people who make country great.
