Dubai seems to be on everybody's radar as an oasis in the middle east. The pace of construction is explosive. Who is doing it? Indians. How are they treated? - like slaves (not that they will be better off in India, but still there is some protection), the Indian Embassy doesn't care for their rights. If the embassy put pressure on Emiratis, I am sure there would be some change simply because there are so many Indians there - Dubai would suffer hugely without Indians. There were 971 Indian deaths - these are mostly suicides which are termed as accidents by Dubai authorities.

Here is the original article by Johann Hari of the Independant UK.

Sir Daily wages in india are approx USD 3 for unskilled labour.. In Dubai, They make atleast USD 8 per day..I won't mind changing job if I get 150% hike.. Indian embassy can't do anything as Dubai has so many options from Pakistan, Srilanka, Bangladesh and Philipines..
Only option is to create one more city somewhere in Kerla to compete with DUBAI...
Till then, they'll suffer because they suffer at home also..

Dyadi majdoor se buri jindagi india main kissi ke nahin hai... In Dubai, alteast they get money for that...

agree

i agree to the post.

Lots of poor people go there and suffers a lot because of the conditions and circumstances.
But the allurement of money and opportunity drags them there.
