Education opportunities for the elderly.

and this topic is about more about literacy than education
urmilaji stated this twice.
1 ) "Is private tutoring the only option ? How can the elderly feel motivated to gain educational experience through schools/colleges/universities ? Please share your thoughts :)"

2) The thing that I most commonly hear from elderly women when they are asked to invest time and effort in formal education is: अए मन्नए के ईब ब्याह करवआना स ? or else, "it is not that I have to find a job!" And that is the end of the matter for them.

However gaining literacy level is gaining a skill - a skill that requires memory, recapitulation, calculation, competition etc. Literacy skill is not easy to acquire and requires substantial amount of effort, and perhaps over a long period of time. A sustained effort too.

unless i am too dumb to interpret them correctly in which case i would like to be corrected.

And i just elaborated further on what you wrote with mere agreement. No sure if you need to make it a race of who said what first until we both agree.

And am sure you didnt say this, did you? ;)

i think i also said same thing that most of us dont even cast votes

Are you joking around? I am sorry, I don't get it.

Use online resources to learn and get education. There is plethora of material available online. You don't need to go to Uni's/schools etc. In professions like IT you won't learn much at Uni/Colleges. Because Universities and colleges have an outdated curriculam. And they are not able to catch up with ever changing industry.
Those who have these resources available to them,I don't think they need seek private tutors or need to go to col/univ etc etc. :)

Sometimes I miss speaking in English at home. My family members and friends mostly converse either in Hindi or jaatu. I too do the same with them and enjoy jaatu very much. But when I get a chance to converse in English, I absolutely love it.
However, at home there is hardly an opportunity in this regard. I told my mother about it and she says सीखूंगी! (to my delight!). Hope it is soon :)
