I am just sick of people bringing up stupid ideas to the discussion board. There are a lot of conspiracy theories associated with our history, but for a moment lets admire the accomplishments of others unless disputed by concrete evidence.

There are a lot of social/ethnic groups who are doing better than Jats. So lets stop day dreaming, and accept reality. There a long way to go.

We are not that grand of a community as we make it out to be. All I need to do is go to a small isloated village in Haryana to prove my point.

Very True Bro....bera na Laloo ka sala....Taj Mahal....Hindu jat/muslim jat/sardar jat/Pamela Bordes/Sonney ki billi :p arr ke ke discuss kar gera....Kiss on public places....NRI marriage....K.B.C.....ram ram ram ram....:) :p

Dear Sumit.....

I differ in views with you.... History is not just a one way road.... That we will come across just what we are looking for......
Sure.. we are not that huge a clan or a group... yet we need to strive for our history...... And in a reign.... we come across certain developments which are not even remotely related to us.. yet but, which have affected us.... sooner or later....1707, death of Aurangzeb, we were not related to it.. but the resulting hue nd cry in the northern planes gave Jats a strength... they were now noticed all over....

So discussions on all contemperory issues and developments do really provide us with insight on our development.... Taj Mahal, Sir Fazl-i-hussain... and many other such thins which are up here for discussions are really important for us to know..... as History does not give us this oppurtunity to just choose our men and read about them, know about them.....

Cheers!!

Shobhit Deshwal.

Well my intentionas were not to incite any negative emotions.

I want everyone to realize the ground realities. And ground realities according to me say that a lot needs to be done.

Everytime I travel some developed country, the first thing that comes to my mind is that where did we fail.

Then people tell me that we cannot compare Haryana with the western countries. The two are entirely different cases.

Then I tell them to look at Japan, Italy and Germany which were razed to the ground after World War 2, and they came back not with a bang, but with a mushroom cloud.

If we keep looking at the glorioud past keep sighing about how great we used to be, or keep talking about all the great things our ancestors may have done, we prove that we lack insight into the future. This is a very unhealthy sign.

Whats gone is gone. We need to be future-oriented people. The past may have been glorious. The future could be entirely ours.

Well Sumit... I too believe in the present!! But... taking precendences from the past is a necessity!!
I mean we need to look back not for the glory alone.. but for the fault as well....
Analysis leads to thoughts and whi9ch in turn result in results!!
Much ingenuity has already gone into the quest of the answer to the question who we are??
And one should know... his family.. his ancestors and his clan and his racial stock...... this is what I feel.....
So dear... looking back is not always that bad..... It gives you lessons as well.. to get ahead with care!!

Cheers!!

agreed..but we can not walk forward with our face backward Shobhit.. For how long we will analyse our past? Till we live? Let us accept it that in last 1000 years we have done nothing and we have failed on too many accounts. High time we gather momentum and move forward with our face also looking in the same direction. Going by the number and type of posts on Jatland I wonder if we are really moving forward..

Katu satya!!! This is what reality is what we should do. Lets move forward than doing R & D on past. Only if we remember some lessions and try to move ahead...we can!!!!

I agree with you Sumit...Lets learn from the past and move on.

Lets examine our present and plan for the future. This is more important esp now when the world is changing so rapidly.

We should inspired by Sir Chotu Ram and the likes who were visionaries of their times and look what they have achieved.

PS: A great way to catch the attention. The first thought came to my mind, when I saw the title was .......what the flipping heck. :D

Totally agree with sumit,

Some of the "INTERESTING FACTS" that amaze me go like this

Hanuman was a jat,
Lord Krishna was a jat,
Jats built Taj Mahal,
Jats descended from Jews/Germans/Scythians... and what not
No doubt one day people will be claimimg Eifel Tower, Great wall of China, Pyramids of Egypt, were all built by Jats,

People just continue to amaze me.... guys get a life, do something yourself rather than living in some mystified glory of the past....

Surprising....

Sumit first of all this is history section and here we discuss our past and not current issues.

Discussing past doesn't mean that we are not at all worried about our future.

How your suggestion fit here I couldn't understand.

And knowledgeable persons like you are already contributing how can we improve our future by making society without any government and are very appreciative of such futuristic planning .So both past and present are taken care side by side.

Now jat history is a relatively new field where much needs to be done.

I am absolutely sure that you might not be knowing whether we are A or B AND it might be irrelevant to you also but it is important to some persons that is why history as a subject has it existence.

There are always some people in all forums who give such unwarranted claims and it's very easy to ridicule whole history section based on such incidents... but there are serious people too who are doing a lot, whole of which is not apparent on this site... the problem is that a normal person is not interested in history because history is taught in such a way... Jat history is not about always glorifying Jats, there are finer aspects...

Sumit, you are right that we have to think about future... and you always bring this point out... ok suggest what we shd do and what you are doing for future of jat community... but please spare us another lecture on non-govt funda...

Hanumn as jat is never discussed seriously and is usally taken in a light mood.
Lord Krishna was not declared jat by jats but by historian albrunie.
And BTW how you find it so funny I mean what proof you found that he was never a jat that amazes you.
TAJ MAHAL possibility is just being discussed and are you sure that no hindu structure ever existed there.
jats were not related to sythian germans than can you tell who were they related to as you can say so when you know this with absolute certainty.

It is good to question but such questions should be raised immidiately if some one claim this or that.

I fully agree with you Narendra Bhaisahab...

If our history, our past does not facinate us, then what are we here for?? We are here because we have one thing in common and that is we are JAT. Now, any other fellow human can be as good as a jat, and we could as well be members of any community then....

But here we are for a cause, and a part of it is to know who we are and what is it which makes us stand here with our collors up and say we are jat!!!!

I remember our school principal when I was in my HSC, we were on for a sports event at Dehradun, before our departure; he held a lecture in where he briefed us about the TOR society and St. Francis of Assisi; his life and works, and we raised our eye brows, all of the spoiled guys like me..... Fr. Jose G. Chakalakal TOR was his name, and he said, boys, it is from these words that you will have the real feel that you are not just students of St. Francis School, but are somehow related to that great soul St. Francis of Assisi, and this would help you to give your best for the name....

I don't feel this here is anything different... How would it affect us to know whether we are Germans/ Sythians/ Aryans, but it would give us a better understanding of ourselves, a better hold on our future will be derived from here.... That we are not just JAT, but are from a racial stock which has more than 23% presence in the world, and this would make us deliver our best for the name.....

And to get forward.... Sumit.. I remember Dr. Harivansh Rai Bachhan's Madhushala, where he says...

" Madiralaya jaane ko ghar se chalta hai peene vaala,
kis path se jaaun asmanjas me hai vah bhola bhala,
Alag alag path batlate sab, par main yeh batlata hun...
Raah pakad tu EIK chala chal, pa jaayega Madhushala.."

And Madhushala is any task to be accomplished.... So... think that best way out and do let us know as well.. sot that we could think and discuss and get further with glory!!

Cheers!!

I never wanted to ridicule the whole history section, History is definitely very important aspect of any culture. I just commented on the the unwarranted claims as you name them...

I agree with Sumit...1000% for sure. People who write lofty unsubstantiated things should be checked..they bring bad name to other serious people...but also give us a lot of reasons to laugh and cry at the same time....

Hi,

First of all I would apologise if the following things offend anyone...but this is what the most of Today's Jat society is...

Achievement of Jat Society at present...

First off all...DOWRY HUNGRY worst thing anyone can offer to their newly wed bahu...when a newly wed bahu comes to the Sasural...I think more than ninty percent of of those live in vilage will first ask...ee babe keke diya aae...kitna layee sai...aae falan ka chora ki bahu to bahut laye thi enka to kati jute maar diye. Many may not accept it but its bitter truth.
Those where dowry is not demended...its is a show off which cause problem to poor families. After marriage the grooms side sit with a PARAT at the time of VIDA...which looks like baggers.

Secondly....Sirf Chora chaiye...pet main laki hai to girs do...foeticide problem is there but not that much...hardly any family is Happy to know that the newborn child is a baby girl. Why? If its girl...they will have to give dowry...if boy they dream of to get a nice vehile from brides side.

Thirdly...Parda Partha...shows where the Jat society stantds today...though it is changing in cities but still in most of the villages the ladies live an isolated life...if the males donot want to see the face of their bahus..then why donot they start wearing the Ghoonghat...Ghoonghat is the sign of most backward thinking.

Fourth Girls education...In our villages there is outrght preference in favour of boys when it comes to education. Untill and unless we donot educate girls and treat them equal...JAt SOCIETY CANNOT PROGRESS.

I think the condition of females is worst in the Jat society.

Last year there were some incidence...whch really put Jat society down...in one village the village panchayat take a decision and asked a married couple to become brother and sister...even though they were of different gotra.

Talking about who made Tajmahal is useless and senseless when one gender in the Jat societ is really suffering. First we should put our time and energy in improoving our present...and only then look at the past...Jat society has learnt nothing from the past...except trying to find out where we can claim things. We should evolve ourselves to the state that others start talking of our achievements. That will make us feel proud.

Yes we do have some glimpses of glorious past in the form of Bharatpur and many other leadrs who did something for Jat society. But what are we today thats what we need to think. To make our past look better we have to improove our present.

Shamsher

Watch people do their most common actions, these are indeed the things that will tell you the real character of a great person. This.. i guess, Shamsher is what you believe in... As you have put it as your signatures....
Now.. things here in the society are not much a different from what they could be in an individual, and individual comes later and the society comes first.... So look the most common actions.. and look them inside out to know the root cause of the problem...

True.. females are really in a bad condition in our society... you have cited very right things.... But there are three sorts of actions one can imagine of... Correction, Corrective action and Preventive action....

Correction, for the time being can make things look good at face.. but the same old story inside.... It is done without actually eliminating the cause.. not knowing the cause indeed... If we get into correction of this ages old stupid, rather very stupid deeply routed and cultivated ills in our society, we at the present will be really nice.... but with the deep end of ours being affected with the same.... the cause which we did not sought!!

Corrective action, now this is where analysis is required.... one corrects the ills, finds the root cause with research and reviews and then fixes the cause itself, so that things do not surface again.. this, sure is a time consuming, frustrating and eyebrow raising step.. but this pays off sincerely and effectively.... Knowing who built Taj Mahal is knowing who we are.. which in turn gives us a look on how we have been.. how things have evolved in such a manner and how to get down, track that very flaw and fix it....

Preventive action is speculating a cause of non conformance and fixing it then and there.. This again requires a lot of analysis and placid study.... History unfortunately is looked upon as a political gain now-adays, but infact it is analysis which we have been trying to do through various angles.... And dear, things can't be done and studied and reviewed in isolation.... they all are interrelated... I did say earlier in the same thread.. there are things which we are hardly affected by at face.. but then they turn out to be a turning point in our context.....

Girls, ladies even female feotus being deprived of their rights is sure an ill which prevails by and large through out the community.... but we come to know things were not so.... So for corrective action, we need to know where did things go wrong.... So we need to know the past.... how did we end up in such a mess.... and what is the best possible thing we can do, so that such things don't occur in the future.....

A wise man said... "It takes a strong stomach to see what other people feel when they look at you" i.e. the world is looking at us and has got feelings.... and we need to see them... so that we could change ourselves with the changing times.. Strong stomach here depicts our knowledge of self.... how much do we know ourselves....

So dear please bear with the tiresome and frustrating and very very absurd procedure through which we are going......

Cheers!!
