Later,ironiaclly, when Nick(detective) is being questioned...he is stuck,frustrated and trapped
Internal Affairs Investigator: There's no smoking in this building, detective.
Nick: [repeating Catherine] What are you gonna do? Charge me with smoking?




Catherine: Killing isn't like smoking. You can stop.

Most of the important things in life is accomplished by people who just kept on trying. They do hope but never influenced by it.

You see had fortunately been reading up on my Holmes all over again very recently...and as always with these magical classics 'the game was (delightfully) afoot'.... :D

[Note: Doesn't one feel that while easy to miss in that long shadow cast by the main protagonist, its worthy of note that without the faithful Watson asking his pointed, incisive (he was a surgeon after all) line of questioning at all the right moments; the whole narrative would actually be quite deary as is obvious in the few rare cases the detective himself has tried to present, quite blandly I must add...]

and Here's one for the home crowd...
"...You see Watson, when you have eliminated the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth...." :cool:
 
City of Angels...

This one is a slightly older Hollywood flick...
But a fantastic one with the greats like Nicolas Cage and Meg Ryan producing fabulous performances (in a story about an 'angel's' time on the earth amid mortals).... and if you haven't watched it; it is surely one for the 'rainy' day...

Here are some exmaples of the awesome dialouges that set the tone in there...

Nicolas Cage, "She said, what good would wings be if you couldn't feel the wind on your face?"......

and some of Meg Ryan's...

Ryan, "I'm not afraid. When they ask me what I liked the best, I'll tell them, it was you......"

"Those eyes. The way he looked right... right down into me."...

"I wait all day, just hoping for one more minute with you, and I don't even know you!"...

one of my favorites; closing lines of the movie, Alvy (Woody Allen) says

... And l thought of that old joke.
This guy goes to a psychiatrist and says, "Doc, my brother's crazy. He thinks he's a chicken."
The doctor says, "Why don't you turn him in?"
The guy says, "l would, but l need the eggs."

Well, l guess that's, now, how l feel about relationships. They're totally irrational, crazy and absurd.
But l guess we keep going through it...
because most of us need the eggs.


nice movie by the way. Allen is superb in this movie.
