Hang till death!

Death does not serve a purpose, neither does the crime. Death is an escapist means.

I remember an old saying "differentiating between crime and the criminal".

India has to learn beyond the images and shadows of "Gandhi" it also needs to change its ways and thought processes.

India will have to do it fast because it is moving towards a chaotic and disorganized state.

Capital punishment is a way to deter crime and criminals, it is right or wrong is another question.

Crime is crime. There is no other description of it. The criminal can not be separated from crime. As the fibre can not be separated from the cloth. The one is the other. So if we must stop crime by punishment, the criminal will have to be punished.
Now about capital punishment. Well meaning persons plead for its abolition. Well one may take it as a philosophy of one context. But a country's context has to be evaluated before applying the general view. When the crime is not with reference to a person or a group of persons and is simply some thing to terrorise a nation into subordination, it does not remain a mere crime. it is something beyond and must be stopped and discouraged even if the person perpetrating such a philosophy is hanged it is the minimum that can be done in the case.
If it is question of world view,it must be propagated by oral or writte dialogue, not by terrorist acts. So in such matters the highest court should know bwtter than all of us sitting pretty in our own securities.

This is what is called "unnecessary moderation".. and that's why this site is dying...full dictatorship.....and Mr. khatkar words were very harsh!...better to keep this attitude in your pocket..or in plain words..ya chaudhar aapne ghar main chalao!
I thankfully acknowledge your respectful and polite words; Thanks for saving me from wrong attitude. I feel indebted for your kind advice. I endorse your dedication and contribution for the site Thanks

Second that. No Wonder .. Such Mod-ship will kill JL eventually. Sad but true!

Sad but true, your prejudice reflects in the post under reference and this type of posts deter others to join discussion.

Could you point out specifically which post in this thread has been moderated .

If not, show courage to take back your ill founded and misconceived notion about moderator's intervention!!!

Is death penalty a more effective deterrent than life imprisonment?

I think the most effective deterrent is the speed and certainty of getting caught. Mostly, capital punishments is served out to those who "kill" for fun or enjoy killing. When such a criminal is planning a crime, what's more likely being debated in his/her mind is whether he/she would be caught and not whether he/she would get death or life imprisonment.

So, I am sure deterrent is not or, should not be, a factor in deciding capital punishment.

May be, an opinion of those who suffered from the crime could be sought.

I would also agree with you, Arvindg. Yeh log yahan marne maarne hii aate hen...inko faansi/capital punishment ka darr nii houta. Inhen solitary m daalo lifetime key liye. They need not wait till the verdict is announced.

Death sentence awarded by the highest court in cases of terrorism has to be seen separately from other cases. It must be executed with reasonable speed. Apart from serving as a deterrent it has another angle. If delayed or commuted to life imprisonment there is always a threat of national security looming large. There are chances of more daring cases of jail breaks or incidents of hostages being made for release of the most dreaded serving long jail terms.

Kindly also share and enjoy good posts on the issue of thread keeping the rules of the land in mind. Unhappy with the coverage related to hanging of 1993 Mumbai blasts convict Yaqub Memon by three leading news broadcasters, information and broadcasting ministry has issued show-cause notice to them, asking why action should not be taken against them.Official sources said that it was felt that some parts of the coverage of these news channels were inappropriate following which they have been asked to explain how their coverage does not violate the sections of the Programme Code..........A unit under the I&B ministry, Electronic Media Monitoring Centre (EMMC), monitors the content of around 600 channels. For details link :http://go4g.airtel.in/nd/?pid=483112&rgn=kt

Dr Rajpal Ji,
Has any post in this thread violated the rules according to you? If yes, which one?

Also, regarding these dictates/rules:
Do you approve of such rules? Is it public's responsibility to make government happy? Or should it be somewhat other way round?

Is desh ki vidambana to dekho, jis judge ne ye saza sunayi usse hi jaan ka khatra ho raha hai. kamal ka desh hai yaar. Gunah karne wale ko saza dena usse bhi bada gunah lag raha hai. ye bhi padhiye aap log, kuch aankhein khul jaaye:

Ek dum sahi farmaya janabe aali. MIGHT is RIGHT in this world. Only poor and economically weak people suffers. Rich class always enjoys the highest privilege. Lekin yahan ek baat dekhne waali hai. wo ye hai ki ek community se sarkaar itna dab sakti hai. vishvash nahi hota. Abhi apni sarkar mei China waali mighty power nahi hai. Chinese govt leti hai is tarah ki ghatnao ko ek dum sahi se. Picche hua tha Uyghurs walo ke saath. baaki aap search kar leejiye ghatna karam ko. sab pata chal jayega. I wonder kya hoga aage is desh mie..

My posts are self speaking on the issue as I have just shared information in the common interest of participants. It is neither to please nor to offend anyone.

Capital punishment is a way to deter crime and criminals, it is right or wrong is another question.

The way India is going and the entire concept of democracy as shown and used by the governments and politicians.

Capital punishment is going to be common in present and near future.

Maddhan ji, aap khud hi sawal karte ho or phir khud hi uska jawab dete ho. Is shalli ko hum kya naam de, aap hi bataye.

In post number 22, you said: "Capital punishment is a way to deter crime and criminals, it is right or wrong is another question."
You raised a question in post #22 and answered it in post #37 "Capital punishment is going to be common in present and near future."
Kindly show me the context, only then i can say anything.
