hi all,
i m really obsessed abt haryanavi, and we used to have so many idioms and phrases in haryanavi that adds humor to our talks.
but being out of touch(being in b'lore and now in mumbai) i forget the many i used when i was in haryana.
so i m posting a few and like u people to post many..........

1. enkh boya kona ja pahla chamar pit gare
2. gadhi mari padi thana tale ar bada kar liya sonepat ka
3. danke ki chot p, ar lathi ke jor p
4. bhu suthari s. par bas kani s

bhul ga bhai kti, yad aateye likhu ga.
 
Girlfriend-Sir you cant leave cigarette.
One of my BARAUT jat friend convinced her that he will quit smoking

i would just like to say that if we can also add meanings of the phrases that would be great. as some of them are clear to all but some of them are above the head. if u peopel can rite the meanings that would be grand.

eb b ke hoya ek jat bhai, apne khet ki doli(boundary) p khada tha. ar nu socha tha ek eb ken ke bou. t usne socha ekk inkh bo du su. pher nu sochan lagga ek bhai isme t mehnet karni padegi. par pher socha ek karlage. pher sochan lagga ek bhai inkh bda hojaga t pher log tode ge chugan tae. ar ude najdik si chmar rha karte. kudarti 2-3 chmar aage ude. apna jat bhai sochan lagga ek ye bhi todega.
ar bhai jat n ja k ar "chamaraa ki sod si bher di". ar chmar nu k " al dada ke hoga" , ganiye war pache jat pit pat ke
bola. "mere gande(inkh) padego, inkh ke dhore mna aa jaeyo na bakal tar dunga"

meaning:=adverse effects even before starting a work
3) sikkar ke baqt kutiya hagae mare s
meaning = interpret urself
used in situation like when u r just to start ur presentation and u say " oh i have to make a call,just coming"

jhad -- continous Rain

ke karan is aangreji ke bas mein na aati haryanvi . :) saare sabd aachi dhal na likhe jante jukar pronounce kare jan hein ....


2. " Ke Gham mein bandhe hai "

Gham --- re gham ne ke kahya karen aangreji mein ..... konya aaya ... bataiyo koesa ... ? ???

means ...related to ...in hot Sun rays .... kaam sa chalaon hun jib tahi koe sa bhai particular word batave ...

""This is used for asking someone the reason of getting weak.""


3. " Sui si kha rahya hai "

Same as previous if someone is lacking activeness and somewhat weak.


4. " Chati mein ke Ram dikhe "

Same .....


5. " Moose Kabaddi khelen "

Moose - Rats ( bade aale :) )

Used to indicate the bad condition of someone's in terms of wealth.


6. " Landa la dena "

:D

Kasoota bhaj lena ....

7. " Deede khandna " :)

Goorna ..... glaring someone ...

8. " Koon mein lana "

Koon ----- Any particular word from english ???

the intersection of two walls .....???

used to show the success in overpowering the opponent ...

9. " Aai teej bakhergi beej ..... aai holi bhar legi jholi "
 
Bahoot achha prayas hai sabhi bhaiyno ka.

Mai bhi thoda yogdan karna chahunga.

Gadhi mari padi bhada Sanpat ka.( One with dead female monkey, still planning to carry load on her to Sonepat.

Sachi baat kahdi issi ankh me angli( finger) maar di.

Oot ki joot dawai ho se( to treat a bad charactor u need a foot wear)
