Jats in himachal settled in two major phases. The first phase occurred between 1700-1783, when many Jat groups migrated in search of new land, due to military mobilization, regional conquests, and even famine. for example, Dhanoa,Sohal and Bit Jats of Una district trace their origins to Amritsar and Gurdaspur.
In the second phase, Jats came to himachal when the Sikh misls began their campaigns to conquer Kangra and Mandi. Only three misls advanced towards the regions of kangra, mandi, solan and sirmaur. The Kanahiya misl, Bhangi misl and Dallewalia misl are the first one to start their campaign to conqueror hill areas.

Jats of Himachal dominated specific administrative clusters of villages in Kangra and Hamirpur
According to census of 1881 the Jats of Daulatpur zail annual revenue was Rs.4929, in Ghurkari zail annual revenue of Jats was Rs 19494, in Gahlian zail annual revenue was Rs.10078, in Hamirpur Galauri zail annual revenue of Jats was Rs.8923, and Jats of Bilaspur-Sakri zail annual revenue was Rs.10000.
It shows that Jats of himachal were one of the key landholding groups, their presence indicates agricultural dominance and high social standing.

According to the census table of Kangra district 1881 the total Jat population in kangra was 11,118. Out of these 5726 were males and 5392 were females. Most of the Jat men were Hindu(5534) while a very small number were Sikh(87) and Musalmans(201). This shows that the Jats of Kangra were almost entirely Hindu agricultural community.

Sir, I would like to inform you that the jatland wiki page on himachali jats contains incorrect information. It states that Hindu jats in himachal are known as chaudhary and Ghirth which is completely false. I want to clarify that ghirth is a lower caste similar to dalits and believed to be of rajput origin by mixed marriages or illegitimate intercourse and their DNA is also different from Jats.
So I request please correct the misinformation that is written on that page.
You can check all the images and in the census of 1881 of kangra district they are written as Ghirths but not Jats. So genetically and historically ghirths are not related to Jats.

I agree with him , there have been numerous attempts by the girth community to falsely potray them as jats , they use chaudhary surname and have made facebook posts about being jatt . A guy tried to expose them on reddit to which a guy from their own community replied that they do not seek jat connection . Which indeed is a reason to not add them to jatland wiki Here is the link -
