How fast a forward woman should be?

Look, I don't think women anywhere ever make a pass at men!... I think the world over the fairer of the species (I would say any species) have evolved much more than that, and follow the age-old principle that is inbuilt in the genes! The alpha peacock simply has to strutt to be noticed by the pea-hen! ... That's how the way of nature is (and not to flog a dead horse anymore); designed it exactly so, ....(even at the times of the dumb cavemen, when they could not ask the woman to come have a drink at the local waterhole)....designed it so that thru this elaborate game of attraction, pursuit and capture, help new life continue - [aha but wait, here you go again- slyly pointing and talking about the other 'deviant', 'un-natural' ways! get over it man!]... and hence it is always traditionally been the male of the species who had to work hard to get the attention... and never the female!

And so I strongly would like to believe that doesn't matter where you are, or what country it is, western, asian, european, (Mongolian, African) - women only make - subtle advances or show an interest when they have to; at least for the most part and when generally speaking (exceptions are always there!)... and that's just the way of things!... Take it, leave it, see too much into it... all at your own peril, men! ;)

[And to add to that last part; it all varies greatly for the male's reaction now, ain't it? .... I mean we all know that there are always folks who shall never and/or can't respect a female, period....doesn't matter whether it is a pass or a flying throw, she would always be a paer ki 'jutee' for some....]

But then really dudes, that question there is like asking, "What do you think of a man who when stranded on an island with the last woman on earth.... went with the (only other) man there!?!"... Oh wait, sorry.... wrong thread! :D

Shailendra, Indian history is full of such incidences where a woman made pass on this so called neutral man. I can't recollect a single case where man did not loose his senses in full. Talking and writing on this subject was taboo only during last two centuries. Number of Indians expressing their feelings openly on such subjects is increasing rapidly. Who could predict few years back that Indian Judges will legalise gay relations. Leave aside few perturbations, No one really cares about this any more.

Ab kaun aj-kal kae bachchon ko samgahyein Khalkhundeji!....:D

Thank you all for your candid posts.:)
Come on guys, besides what you would do after the pass, how about elaborating what you would think about that woman? There are just a few thoughts on that.
Lets take up the discussion with assumption in Kapil's post, that should clarify a few queries in the posts-
I think the question is intended to be based on the assumption that the man has no explicit attraction or revulsion towards the said woman. Say you are at a party where 100 women are there. Even the most virile man won't feel attracted to all of them in one go. And then all of a sudden, from nowhere, a woman makes an unanticipated pass on you. I think the assumption is important, as if you don't have "neutral" feelings to start with, then you can easily react positively/-vely. The question wants to strip you of any emotions for the said woman and then see her action in "moral & values" terms. That is my take.

And, the man is not neutered or of a neutral gender...he is a normal male with normal reactions and feelings to the advances of a woman. However, please let your focus be on what you would think about the woman? Remember the old adage- wife or girl friend material...
Regards

In return , I will ask her to buy me a drink and go home , come to see me next week with friends all prepared with better pick up lines.

ill love to hv dt typea women.........:D
BTW why you hv asked the question

May be by considering your acitvity so that you can pile up threads with your enlightening wits.

Dear members,
What is your opinion about a woman who makes a pass at a man? Consider that man has neutral feelings towards the woman.
Thanks

There is nothing new under the sun.

Both or none of them.

It shouldn't matter what the man thinks about it, you like someone, you tell him. Anyways if the man is going to judge her from that one action of hers and and not even sensible enough to try and know more about the girl/woman before making a judgement about her good or bad character, then its his problem. Also most of us have grown up hearing that a woman doing such a thing is bad, it sticks somewhere at the back of our minds and we need to make conscious effort to think and change those defaults settings of our minds.
And for that, it becomes even more important for girls to go ahead and express their feelings. some day things have to change...

Well, My take on this -

I consider her act quite normal .. its just a natural phenomena, Guys attracted to Gals and vice-versa. And if we look in Indian context, I agree with RK Uncle. Time is changing and in fact changed a lot ! :)

Btw, if some lucky gal approach me, I would think about and appreciate if she makes a pass in subtle n sublime way with hint of artistry .. ya fir kati Desi Jatni types bold n upfront. ;)
Rest, kind of unbearable, cheap passes will be ignored straightaway!

Cheers!

I love this type of confident & bold lass…only those women who are confident about their appearance and intention (not confused one…J) can make a move….and who said this is only men’s prerogative…this is menka’s right too to woo & seduce vishvamitra…

I have experienced many incidents where women have passed comments when I passed by. Women too love to tease…women too like to chase unlike being chased every time.

Some time ago in my office one of my female colleague a sikh jat asked me out for a movie…and said let’s bring the Taare jamin per” I said why not…नेकी और पूछ पूछ! .huh …when I asked her what made u to initiate…she said very candidly…I cant resist my feeling to be with u…whenever u talked to me…I thought u will ask me out bt u never did….so I had to…she also said how a woman can be so straight forward and go weak on their knees when one come across a man with following traits….

1. A man who exhibit confidence (or power)
2. A man with a sense of humor (fun)
3. A man with money or the things money can buy (sense of security)
4. A man with looks (protection and attraction)
5. A Free Spirit Guy with a bit of "Bad boy" qualities (mysterious and independent)
6. The Intelligent/Witty Guy
7. A man with all the other stuff they typically list (varies - sensitive, caring, etc.)

Women genetically falls for leaders… when I was monitor of my class throughout my studies and when captain of my school cricket team and college team later…all the guys used to be envious to me when I used to get girls attention and subtle hint of proposals... I was on the verge to become narcissist…like Osho..:)

Today’s women are so ambitious & demanding they can’t settles for less….they are not afraid of one eyed snake any more rather they charm it….so if women make a move next time wht u can do is… keep ur finger crossed…let this lady drool over…:)

Nothing unusual....

Contrary to what you'll hear people say, women make passes all the time...
right from the village one to the urban one.

And men appreciate it no end. Its a great high.

If a man is not particularly interested...and that is not uncommon either..then he ought to politely refrain from recriproacting....and still be thankful.

I suspect, however, that when it comes to a more serious relationship
(think marriage) many men (especially traditional ones) may not be very
comfortable here...the "if me then others too syndrome" can kick in...

What this thread has definitely helped us is in identifying alpha-males amongst us, whose chumbak like attractive appeal leaves the women helpless and down on her knees. And I shall say no more on this subject....:D

The topic has been interpreted in a no. of ways. I am not sure if a girl asking a guy out or even proposing is same as making a pass. I thought "making a pass" business is between strangers or even if you know the person, you are not anticipating a wild approach. There is also some vulgar element in making a pass in my opinion. So someone throwing a flying kiss, or getting touchy/feely unexpectedly is more in the "making a pass" genre. I am not sure such women exist in vast numbers in India or even in Western countries. Coming back to the question (which hardly anyone is answering here), my opinion would be that the woman is high on hormones and not in control of them. She is out for some quick fun and as much as I won't like to get judgmental, I don't think she represents any forwardness or emancipation of the woman-kind. Certainly not wife material. Please note that my answer would be the same for a guy making a pass (at a girl to avoid any confusion :)).

You make me look at the topic again :(

Well , i agree with you in the sense of what you interpret the question and then answered it! :)

However if the "paas" in some sense means initiating things , which might grow into more later , I would not mind giving it a due thought , if I (after the notice) find things to be above the breakeven :D( to be financial ;) on things! , or in other words , if the offer is attractive)!

The logic that i put forward for myself to appreciate is that I can( should might be a better word! ) do the same thing to a girl I like and want to be with! So may be the lady in question has noticed something which I failed to and I must look for the same.

Makes sense?

Obviously. If the interpretation is different, the answer will be different. If a girl you know comes up to you and says, "hey anil, I think you are a cool dude and I really like you, can we have coffee together?"- there is nothing wrong with it. Your heart will probably skip a million beats (unless ofcourse if you are the chumbak type guy who gets such offers on a daily basis :D). And you should be grateful to the girl for making you feel good, have coffee with her and do a NPV calculation using the appropriate risky curve to do the optimal resource allocation.

My interpretation was for the scenario when a girl you don't know comes and pinches your bottom in a party (or in a bus as it happens in India with guys being culprits). Not saying that you would (or should) feel "bad" if that happens to you, but what opinion you'd hold for her is not that debatable.

That's precisely how I think as well.

When I was in 9th class - a girl made a pass at me for the first time during physics tuition class.

Back then I was very self reliant boy who believed in solving all my problems with my own hands using the laws of physics.

I did not know what to say to her, but after that incident, I became conscious. In anticipation, I used to bathe and brush my teeth before I went to tuition, I also put a ton of cheap army CSD canteen cologne. I also bought some new clothes.

These changes were not lost on my mother - I think the cologne might have tipped her off. She summoned me one day before I was about to leave for tuition class looking like an underage gigolo. Her initial polite exhortation that I was such a good student and should focus on studies segued into grabbing my ear and twisting it really hard - it would put a kaantod pehalwaan to shame.
However, this did not deter me, I was still playing nain matakka with that girl in tuition class. After coming home from tuition, I used to wonder how miserable Thakur might have been in Sholay after Gabbar chopped his hands off.

I got bolder by the day and one day asked by dad for a Bullet motorcycle. That did not go down well because my mother immediately jumped in and told him her half-baked story about my bad intentions. My dad punked me by buying me a used Bajaj Priya scooter. Then I moved away and that was that.

Anju, who is this fast girl you are talking about? I want to make sure if its the same girl I met in 9th class.

The pass made by this woman is expected to be a classy one, not the cheap and derrogatory stuff that men usually do!!!:D

You mean like the Delhi Metro pass... and not the old DTC one using that filthy red paper?

One of my friends who is a girl categorizes all 'english' abuses as classy while the same set of those words when translated into hindi sound cheap and derogatory to her. I hope your distinction of classy and brassy/schlocky passes is not on the same lines. 2-3 examples of each would help me understand this thread better.
