That's because people succumb before the oppressive powers given to the police.

These British raj archaic laws were made so that Police is able to suppress people at their command. Today the same command lies in the hand of corrupt executives (who themselves had spent a hefty amount to get the post) and politicians.

दिल्ली गैंगरेप प्रकरण के बाद ऐसी वारदातों को लेकर
खापों ने कड़ा रुख अख्तियार किया है। बुधवार को जाट
धर्मशाला में कई खापों के प्रतिनिधियों ने हांसी में बैठक कर
महिलाओं के साथ ज्यादती करने वालों का सामाजिक
बहिष्कार करने का ऐलान किया है। अपने फैसलों और ऐलान
के बाद चर्चाओं में रहने वाली खाप पंचायतें इस बार
महिला अत्याचारों के खिलाफ खड़ी हुई हैं। खाप ने साफ
कहा कि गैंगरेप जैसे घिनौने कृत्य करने वाले को समाज के
साथ रहने का कोई हक नहीं होना चाहिए। बैठक के बाद सर्व
खाप के प्रदेश प्रवक्ता सूबे सिंह समैण ने कहा कि खापों ने
निर्णय लिया है कि वे गैंगरेप के
आरोपी को फांसी की सजा का समर्थन तो नहीं करते लेकिन
उसके सामाजिक बहिष्कार के पक्ष में हैं। उन्होंने
कहा कि फांसी की सजा होने से इसका दुरुपयोग होने
की संभावना रहती है। उन्होंने कहा कि गैंगरेप के
आरोपी को उम्रकैद की सजा तो वाजिब है।

samar inki baaton se sirf congressi hi sahmat ho sakte hain vaise nain sahab to mahipal maderana ke khasam khas hain.... kisi sachche deshbhakt ke aisi baton se sahmati ka sawaal hi nahin uthta....

Ban skirts as school uniform: BJP legislator

A BJP legislator in Rajasthan wants the state government to prohibit private schools from making girls wear skirts as uniform, citing it as the reason behind increased cases of sexual harassment.

Banwari Lal Singhal, in his letter to the chief secretary, demanded that girl students be made to wear salwar suits or shirts and trousers as uniform to reduce chances of their being subjected to lewd comments or harassment.

Singhal is a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) legislator from Alwar city constituency, around 150 km from here.

Can't be sure. See the street sign in background and the badge,although illegible, does not look like DP. But one thing for sure, this thulla is some high ranked official. 3 stars, a collar and ashok emblem (maybe). This could be some paramilitary force, dunno.

गैंगरेप का शिकार हुई लड़की की मौत के बाद दिल्ली सरकार महिलाओं के प्रति कितनी संवेदनशील है इसका ताजा नमूना आज ही देखने को मिला। महिलाओं के लिए शुरू की गई सीएम हेल्पलाइन में तकनीकी तौर पर इतनी लापरवाही बरती गई कि यह सेवा शुरू होते ही ठप पड़ गई। इस तरह महिलाओं की मदद करने के दावे करने वाली सरकार का ढीला रवैया सबके सामने है।

दिल्ली में महिलाओं के लिए मुख्यमंत्री शीला दीक्षित की हेल्पलाइन सेवा सोमवार को शुरू होते ही ठप हो गई है। यह हेल्पलाइन सेवा आज ही शुरू हुई थी। बताया जा रहा है कि तकनीकी खराबी की वजह से 181 नंबर पर फोन नहीं लग रहा है। गौरतलब है कि मुसीबत में फंसी महिलाएं 181 नंबर डायल कर सीधे मुख्यमंत्री दफ्तर से मदद मांग सकती हैं। ये सेवा चौबीसों घंटे काम करेगी। इस सेवा के तहत दिल्ली के सभी 185 थानों को सीएम दफ्तर से जोड़ा गया है, ताकि कहीं भी तुरंत मदद पहुंचाई जा सके।

दिल्ली में छात्रा के साथ बस में सामूहिक बलात्कार की घटना के बाद जब पूरे देश में महिलाओं की सुरक्षा को लेकर आवाज उठी तो पिछले हफ्ते मुख्यमंत्री शीला दीक्षित ने इस हेल्पलाइन सेवा का एलान किया था।

कुछ लड़कियां विरोध कर रही थीं ,गंगरेप पीड़ित के लिए इतने
मे पुलिस आई और एक लड़की को ले गयी ... :(
और पुलिस स्टेशन मे पुलिसवाले ने कहा की "तेरा तो रेप
नहीं हुआ है तो तू क्यों विरोध कर रही है "
और पुलिस वालों ने उस लड़की को कई थप्पड़ जमा दिये
और जबर्दस्ती उस लड़की से पुलिस स्टेशन मे झाड़ू
भी लगवाई

Man seeking to bomb Dec 16 rape accused's house held

One of the three men, who allegedly wanted to plant bombs at the house of the prime accused in Dec 16 gang-rape case, was arrested here Monday, police said.
"One person has been held. Two crude bombs were recovered from him," said a police official.
Police received a call around 6 p.m. that three youth were found loitering around the accused's house in Ravidas slum cluster in south Delhi's R.K. Puram area and had threatened to blow it up.
"When the residents asked what they were doing there, they said they have come to blow up the house of Ram Singh," said the official.
"While one was overpowered by the crowd, two managed to escape," the official said, adding he was being questioned.
Ram Singh was the driver of the bus on which the 23-year-old woman was brutally tortured and raped. She died in a Singapore hospital Saturday.

A bone test is being conducted to confirm the age of a juvenile suspect in custody for the fatal assault and gang-rape of a young woman, while prosecutors will seek the death penalty for the other five men arrested with him, police said Tuesday.

Now what does that mean are they going to release him..??
