As we all know that from Dec 2018 National Testing Agency will conduct the UGC NET exam on the place of CBSE.

The UGC NET 2018 Application Form process has been started by the NTA from the 1[SUP]st[/SUP] September 2018.

Recently the National Testing Agency has released a notification related to Aadhaar card to fill the Application form.

Candidates who are going to fill the application for the NET exam, have to know that from this year Aadhar Card is no more mandatory. The Aadhar number is only one of the types of identification, it is not mandatory. Candidates can also use Passport number, Ration Card number, Bank Account number or any other valid Government identity number for identification.

The last date to apply for the exam is 30[SUP]th[/SUP] September 2018. So hurry up and fill the form ASAP.

NO, Not at all. No one can ask your ADHAAR Details. If needed then create a virtual ID from ADHAAR's UIDAI website.

DO not share information specially its QR code. From QR code one can get access to your biometric information, which is your personal information. IF needed, by any government organisation only, then sign in with bold pen of black ink on the QR code so that it could not be scanned.

It is Very Important and Urgent to LOCK your biometrics , if you do not wish to share your data with anyone.

(One needs to unlock it only when it is needed like while applying for a new SIM card. Then only get it unlocked and again get it locked after your biometrics are given, Simple.)

As per the recent updates by NTA, the Adhaar card is no more mandatory to apply for the UGC NET exam.
The HRD minister has decided to conduct various national level exams through a single body, thus NTA has been formed. Now NTA will conduct the UGC NET twice a year in online mode only.
The next UGC NET 2018 Exam will be held in December from 9 to 23 2018. Application procedure to apply for UGC NET is over.
The NTA has stated that any government ID will be valid to verify your identity.
