I think जिस नए पंगे लेने हो, वो फिर भी किसी न किसी बात पे ले लेगा. But it seems that granting asylum to Tibetians has added fuel to fire in the Indo - China political relations. To say that Indo - China war have exclusively taken place due to China's Tibet problem may also not be right - it definitely aggravated the situation though. Even though, it is best not to rile neighbours (i.e., China), I do think that it is also not wrong on the part of India to take a humanistic view towards Tibetian people when they came to India's door seeking asylum. On the down side, India lost its able men in the Indo - China war and also territory. U.S.A openly supports the Tibetian cause, albeit due to Cold War circumstances.
Overall, I still think supporting a good cause (preservation of Buddhist way of life) is a worthy matter. It has improved India's image on the world stage.

Dear Madam, observing the 'not interested' slogan in answer to the struggle that Jats are involved in, to preserve Jats' Buddhist Heritage and Ancient History... I am afraid that some people (I am using the word 'some people') who are in administrative seats, and are dominating the policies of the Country may not be seriously interested in "preservation of Buddhist way of life" which "is a worthy matter".a good cause (preservation of Buddhist way of life) is a worthy matter.

Yesterday Manmohan singh told the media that India is on way to strengthen relations with China?
He is acting another Jawahar lal nehru, instead of looking deeper inside the threat from China, we are giving more space to them to ruin us.
The politicians/government usually makes such statements if a high level meeting between the 2 countries is about the to take place - part of confidence building measure.

Nobody wants a strong neighbour and China can not tolerate India in such a position. Overall World Scenario is changing day by day. Our leaders must work towards strenthening the Nation instead of criticizing each other vaguely for Votes, Lokpal like Issues. Our leaders are encourging China's agression towards India on all fronts. There is total mal-administration / corruption in the country. 70% population is living in shabby conditions and only 5-10% are living in good dwelling units and high rise buildings.

I think instead of massively increasing budget for conventional weapons, India needs to invest in developing credible delivery mechanisms for nuclear weapons. The threat of "Mutually Assured Destruction", if credible, would rule out a war for all practical purposes.

I have no idea about Dalai Lama's past, but in any case, he is not the only Tibetan refugee. He is the leader of many Tibetan refugees in India. If he is bad, why is there no apparent revolt amongst Tibetans against his leadership?
Why should India care about what China thinks? China also thinks that Arunachal Pradesh is their part, Sikkim is their part, Kashmir is not India's part, etc. etc. We should bother about what we think is right. And giving refuge to politically persecuted people is unambiguously right. Yes, we have to be wise in our foreign policy and not act like cowboys. But giving refuge is not same as declaring war.

China also thinks that Arunachal Pradesh is their part, Sikkim is their part, Kashmir is not India's part, etc. etc. We should bother about what we think is right. And giving refuge to politically persecuted people is unambiguously right. Yes, we have to be wise in our foreign policy and not act like cowboys. But giving refuge is not same as declaring war.
In fact, asylum to Dalai Lama should be used as a kind of a deterrence to China's hyper activism on eastern border.
