Approaching Old Delhi Railway station from Ring Road, near Red Fort,
we find a building in the middle of the Road, with the words " Jat
Dharamshala" written on it.

It is a red sandstone building. The outer walls are now lined by
small shops.

I suspect this may have been set up in the early part of the last century.

It must have also acted as a rest house for soldiers who were
transiting through Delhi

What is the history of this place?

Does anyone know?

Jat Dharamshala

Bhaiyo Ram Ram,I have also seen the same. It is very much near to Hanuman Mandir. The name is Fauji Jat Dharamshala. It may be possible that it was a rest house of soldiers because it is situated on Kalkatia Gate (old bridge) and it was the only way to go outside Delhi.I will try to go there to know the history of Dharamshala.

Being a Dharamshala, it must have been governed by a trust,

How is this place used now ?.

How did this place get taken over by shops?. Was this encroachment ?

Be nice if the porpoerty was put back to its original use, as a Jat Dharamshala, and the building be designated a Historical monument !

Can we get some photographs?
