The full form of DLF is "Dada Lal Chand Foghat" from village Bhalot. One group is DLF and the other group is ICL "Industrial Cables Limited, Rajpura, Punjab. M/s. Haryana Telecom Limited, Village Kheri Sadh, Rohtak is the sister concern of ICL. Lal Chand Nagar, Jind was set up by Lal Chand ji.

as far as I know and what I've heard about DLF is that DLF stands for Delhi Land & Finanace Co.

hahahaha...kiya tod mara janab... Bhai Jaan DLF stands for Delhi Land and Finance. This group was started by Ch Raghuvendra Singh in 1946. South Extension, GK, Model Town etc were developed by this group. Savitri Cinema in Delhi also belongs to them.

As Rajender ji said...DLF stands for Delhi Land and Finance. And they developed GK, Model town and DLF colony in Rohtak. Savitri Cinema abelongs to them.
About the roots, Chhikara ji 100% correct. ICL, Haryana Telecom and DLF..all belong to the same Phogat family from Bhalot. That's another thing that DLF now is owned by their Damaad. I know this as my brother has worked in ICL Rajpura & Chandigarh for 3 years. And during that time he met Bhupinder Singh Phogat and Devender Singh Phogat many times.

Thanx for your information.

I also worked in ICL group in the year 1992-93 in New Delhi. The head office of ICL group is situated at Parliament Street. Friends don't say hhaaaaa....hhaaaaa first read the inforamtion then confirm to somebody or who belongs to Haryana they can asked to their grandfather or other old man in their village they can tell the story of Lal Chand Foghat.

Another inforamtion is that Sh. Devender Singh Foghat was the Chairman of PHD Chamber of Commerce in the year 1992.

I hope this is sufficient to them who was haaa... haa...

Well i know everything abt Dada Lalchand jee who was a well know Lawyer of his time and he worked as a Vajir in Bharatpur Riyasat. All money came to Lalchand was from Bharatpur. Anyway Rajender sir is right that DLF was started by Ch. Raghvender singh Phougat in 1946 and he was the elder son of Ch. Lalchand. He didn't had any son thatswhy DLF group came in the hands of K.P Singh who is the husband of the elder daughter of Ch. Raghvender Singh.
Chikkara sir DLF doesnt mean Dada lalchyand fogat thats the only version made by the people it stands for DElhi Land Finance. Anyway i m not going to write much here cos if we go in past its a lnog story.

It is true that the meaning of dlf is taken as diwan lalchand foghat by common villagers in haryana which is not true.

What Abhimanyu told is true that the intial money came from Bharatpur only just before partition but later on they made an empire on their own.


However we never heard that they betrayed some freedom fighters.

These are ascribed to the one punjabi political family from Tohana hissar who gave witness against some freedom fighters.

Devinder & Raghuvender Phougat are sons of Ch Lalchand. Raghuvender was owning DFL & Devinder was owning Haryana Telecom & ICL. It was a falldown for ICL & Haryana Telecom when Devinder was alleged to bribe the then Telecom Minister Sukhram. Their properties were raided/sealed by CBI and they lost most of their customers that time. What I know is that they've again started the operations now.

Ch Raghuvender did not have a son, so that's how KP Singh, his son-in-law got the DLF after Ch Raghuvender died.

Just wanted the share with you guys, what I knew.

Abhimanyu, also have good points:

1) The money came from the riyasat of Bharatpur.
2) I have also heard that this family have witnessed against freedom fighters i.e. Lalchand and Seth siri kishan daas parents have witnessed against Bhagat singh and others as the bomb they have used in the assembly, was developed in Rohtak; in the building opposite to masjid on quilla road. They were in Rohtak the night before the blast they made in Assembly.

These sayings are well known in our area.
 
And now Ms. Piya singh owns the major part of DLF >>60% followed by her brother Mr Rajiv singh>>20%.....
and they are running into many enterprises including maals and vrious cineplexs in gurgaon....in gact there are plans to start up a MINI LAG vegas on JAIPUR high about 25 km from gurgaon......;)
