Hi guys,
Hope you all are doing well.
First of all, I want to appreciate and thank you guys who did a great deed,
launching this site and bringing "Jat" people together. Active members also deserves special thanks for making this site such a live place.
And I want to apologise, as I became member long time back and this is my first thread. Please forgive me guys.
Although this site is doing a great work but we must admit that the site is beyond the approach of many people. I have gone through a number threads which provides great information about the jat history, culture and achievements.
I need your opinion guys, How about establishing a Jat Museum? A monument/museum/place where we can have Statues, Biographies, Incidents, Quotes and other stuff of great sons of Mother India from our community.
I feels that by establishing such a place we can expand our approach in the society and we be able to deliver our views in much more practical and affective way. What say?
I have a lot of things to discuss about it but let me stop here.
Please give me you opinion about the feasibility, positives, negatives and other opinions about establishment of Jat Museum & let me know if some place like this already exists.
Thanks for you patient reading.
Waiting for your views!!!!!!!!

there is no such museum i think......but there aree antique think which depict our history,,,kept in many JAAT DHARAMSHALAS........

n i hv a question who will invest for this museum??????
JL members????

What an Idea Sir jee, however there are certain ifs and buts:
  1. Why do you think that this site is beyond the approach of many people.. anybody can join it.
  2. Where you propose this Jat Museum?
  3. Does all other museums are doing the things which you had mentioned? and do tell me honestly how many young people visits museum?
  4. How this museum will be run?
As for my opinion:
I am always ready for anything which further the cause of Jat unity.... and yours is a great Idea.... which should be discussed with elders at home and at JL... like Burdak brothers....
So dear keep this post alive by getting and putting more info and specially the answers to above questions.

Sanjeevji,

It is an excellent idea to have a Jat Museum. The site can be most suitably Delhi being the capital and heart of the Jatbelt. What is needed is who will take the lead and who will finance it. Once it started people will contribute to it in a number of ways. It can be one central place to understand every thing about Jats.

Regards,

Mayawati is busy making parks, spending 1000's of crores for dalit samaj, Why not approach Haryana CM, I'm sure some finances can be arranged.:)

jat museum

dear all,
its realy a good idea to have a jat museum.we should give a serious thought to it.the community needs it.we are having jat dharmshalas all around us ,we can have a jat museum at national level.

Let us start some serious discussion on this issue. The idea of Jat Museum is great but not an easy one to implement. Why don't we start discussing some of challenges that we can face while implementing this idea and solution to these challenges.

Some of the challenges are :

1. Where should Jat museum be situated?
2. From where the funds will come to start and maintain such museum?
3. Who should take the responsibility to run the museum?
4. How will this museum attract the younger generation?
5. How will we collect historical monuments, records, columns etc.?

Please add to this list if you see any challenges.

Museum ban jawe to bata diyo manne bhi kayee jatland aale museum mein dharan joge laage hain . Sara ki gathdi bandh ke ude e dharne padenge:rock:rock:rock:rock

We do not have to re invent the wheel.

We can build on existing infra structure.

We have the Surajmal Institute in Delhi, which publishes much material on Jats and runs an educational Institution.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Surajmal_Memorial_Education_Society

We also have Gurukul Jhajjar which has a museum, containing many artifacts.

http://gurukuljhajjar.com/museum.html

As the idea takes hold, it will grow.

The Museum cannot be in isolation. It should be a part of allied to a History chair in a University.

The idea of a chair is in the formative stages.

Dudhee ji, Narendra Kharb , Sudhir Tewatia, just to name a few have long taken an active interest in such an idea.

People will come, both young and old. Lots and lots of them.

You have to simply look at the Museums in in world city, Paris, New York.

They are huge draws for Tourists.

It need to be modern, with audio visual shows, etc

Funds will come.

Plenty of us jats are doing well now. They will help.

We can organize tax deduction receipts for them, so that there contribution, can be deducted on their income tax return.

We need a target for funds. Pick a project leader, and start.

Sorry for the late reply; tryin to answer few if and buts!!!!!

First of all, I would like to thank you guys for your replies and interest. I have gone thru all the posts of this very thread, few of them were really valuable contributions and few of them were diverting. Anyway. Thanks to all.I request moderators to delete few of the threads so that people will find and read only the meaningful contributions. Please delete post no 2, 8, 9, 10-14, 16, 17, 21.Now to clarify few ifs/buts/doubts/questions, lets me go through the posts one by one.

Navdeep-Yeah of course, JL members can also contribute and we can approach famous jat people too.
Arya ji - Thanks for your interest and efforts to keep this thread alive, but I want to request you notm to comment on the views of idiot people like you did in post no 8 & 9. It not only diverts the topic but stretches the thread so long, such that people lose interest after reading so many meaningless stuff. Regarding your certain ifs and buts:
1. Approach of jatland is limited: - I said because of existence of few facts: how many jat people are having computers and net connectivity? (especially in jat majority states)
2. Location of jat museum: I suggest, it should be in Delhil and should be close to any metro station and I can explain number of reasons for this.
3. Young jat people we visit only when they will find such place to visit.
4. This museum will run just like other museum.
I tried to explain you but I don’t think it can be described in words. I have imagined something bigger that place will not only describe our glorious past but will strengthen our roots and will inspire the coming generations to achieve great things in life.
Akshay-
3. We can have a management there (few young jat guys-girls may get job too), which will be taking care of all the activities.
4. When young people will interact with the senior mentors there, of course they will be spreading words.
5. Yeah to collect historical monuments, records, columns etc. will be a tough task but, believe me buddy… the toughest task is to take the first step. And once we move forward, everything will become easy.
Ravi-
Thanks for the info buddy. As I already said “Please give me you opinion about the feasibility, positives, negatives and other opinions about establishment of Jat Museum & let me know if some place like this already exists.” Will definitely go there to learn good things.
All keep going guys. we are moving towards our destination.Go on.And please keep suggesting, guiding and correcting me.
Cheers

ise kehte hai ke bagal mai choora auu sehar mai dhindoora.......
(sry for not posting this earlier,,but wot can i doo dimag mai se slip ho gaya tha....i am realy sorry):(

now i would like to tell you about DHROHAR-haryanvi museum in kurukshetra university(and i am also from kurukshetra)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------to save the Haryanavi way of life for the coming generations, Kurukshetra University has set up Dharohar, a museum dedicated to preserving the culture and tradition of the state, on April 28 last year. This must-see museum is one of its kind in the state and more than 1.50 lakh visitors have already been enthralled by the exhibits displayed there.
The museum houses all facets of Haryanavi culture and items used in households that are no longer in use or on the verge of being extinct. These include domestic articles, handicrafts, ornaments, agricultural tools, different kinds of hookahs, including the largest in the world, musical instruments, chariots, bullock carts etc. There is also a photographic section that houses photographs of decorated soldiers from the state and freedom fighters.
Curator of the museum Dr M.S. Poonia says he travelled throughout the state for six months to collect artefacts for the museum. Initially, people accused him of being a smuggler who would collect these rare artefacts and sell them abroad for hefty profits
he covered nearly 60,000 km in the state going from village to village to collect unique and ancient items . He says 95 per cent of the artefacts on display at the museum have been donated by their owners.
The museum cost the university Rs 70 lakh, including Rs 23 lakh for air conditioning alone, the main purpose of setting up the museum, a brainchild of Kurukshetra University vice-chancellor R.P. Hooda, is to make it a cultural research centre. a museum on state’s role in the 1857 revolt will come up shortly at a cost of Rs 3 crore adjoining Dharohar. Nearly 200 weapons used in this conflict have already been collected,
most of the things kept there are related to jaats in one or the other way
like photographs of jaat leaders, jaat revolutionaries and jaat regiment.
about 50-60 % of things are related to jaats.
so this is must see for all who wanted to set up a JAAT MUSEUM
and if anyone of you wants to see this museum then he can contact me on my JL account......
hope this would be a suficient informatio...(and again sry for nt
posting this info. early)wid regards navdeep budhwar..:rock:rock
