To fight for the rights and interests of jats 800 jat Ministers both central and state, MPs, MLAs, Retired and serving officers both central and state, gathered on 25/7/2004 at Jaipur in a function organized under chairpersonship of speaker Rajasthan assembly Mrs. Sumitra Singh. Chief guest of the function was Foreign Minister of India Kr. Natwar Singh. Other prominent figures who joined the function were- Central Labour minister Shish Ram Ola, Rajasthan irrigation minister Mr. Sanwar Mal Jat, Revenue Minister Mr. Ram Narayan Dudi, other ministers Dr. Digamber Singh, Mrs. Usha Punia, Rajya Sabha member Dr. Gyan Prakash Pilania, Rajasthan Pradesh Congress President Mr. Narayan Singh Burdak, MP Mr. Bhanwar Singh Dangawas etc.
A CD of information compiled about Jat officers was released on this occasion and a web site was launched with the following URL address-
http://www.jatforum.com
The web site contains profile of officers and their children. Members of JATLAND may like to see it.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention here. It is a good idea to have such an organization.

However, the appearance of another website does fit into the recent debate on Jatland about multiple websites. I agree that we could have many websites with different goals. But what is the point of starting a new website if you do not possess the expertize to make it functional. This new website is an example of a great idea implemented poorly. If you want to fill in your details, you are asked to provide information about your wife. What about successful women? Were the organizers not expecting any woman officer/ academic/doctor etc.? It is not much of a website. I am not trying to belittle it but I am sure if they came to Nitin, their desire could have been incorporated through this site in a much better and effective manner.

Another site could be useful if it has some thing special, if that is not present in jatland.com

Infact i tried to enter my information on this new site, but i wondered that site forms are not validated, not even having correct spellings on form (like Profession : Consultant is spelled incorrect). It seems that no body had looked the site contents & they were in hurry to release the website.

This is not good to publish community names without proper responsibility.

Please excuse me but these words are not against any person.

I came to know about formation of Jat officers social forum while on tour to Jaipur.It is a good attempt to bring jats together. When we go on transfer to a new city we search other fellow jats. This type of search is also being done by members of jatland. Jatland is proving its utility for that purpose. I think the purpose of JATFORUM seems to act as Directory for jats serving at Jaipur.It is also useful if one is searching boys are girls for marriage. There is no comparison with JATLAND.
It is rightly pointed out by Dr.Birbal ji and Beniwalji that there is lot of shortcomings in the software. One of the most important defects, which I found, was that anybody could change the profile of anybody else. No safeguard is provided for that. I have e-mailed this defect to the administrator. It is meant for males only. It is not intractive.Nitin can help to improve the website.

Laxman Ji Thanks for information and i would like to inform u that if u are part of such forum then there is one key issue of recruitment to central security agencies like CISF,DELHI POLICE, ETC. wherein earlier the recruitment was on the basis of merit but from the time of when rajest pilot was home minister he had changed it to population percentage of state and small states like Haryana has suffered and which has directly affected rural jats. We should take up with government to change it to merit base. Same has been taken by sikhs at their 400 th anniversary ceremony with PM becuase because of this policy only Jats and Sikhs have been affected in whole country.

After visiting on the site for five minutes, lot of spelling mistakes. I hope this is build by Intellectuals:-) Lot of names missing. When you see the list of members...pages are 3, but next 2 pages are missing, no matter what heading you go. Irritating....

well, i hope you are enjoying your posting in Jaipur.
 
Information could have been pretty useful but site is disgusting!
I think if they had approached JATS for more funds to develop the site in a professional manner by experts, the satisfaction levels would have been better.

Looks like to me, the information was just put down on a page and uploaded. No body reviewed the design, contents, navigation etc. for the site. I hope this feedback reaches the site developers to improve it.

To add into this, I was surprized to read something new in JAT SAMAJ today, (which i get here regularly) what Mr. Natwar Singh announced in this meeting? PM of Pakistan is also a JAT?
