Jatland in news on Khap/ Gotra issues

TOI rephrases it " Indian first or Jat"

Read an article by some Nandita Sengupta of TOI this morning.... there has been a complete misinterpretation of the issue and media seems to have taken an oath to malign our community.
What i am not able to understand is why they have projected this as Jats Vs Rest of India.

Yeap, The reference is nice but not the text.
"Nandita Sengupta" seems to say that we have lost our identity and are wondering from Chennai to Ukraine to find it.

She is the same "titali" who had written an article yesterday as well, published by the same paper. Refer to the comment "Is this “Khap debate” demaging Jat's 'cummunity' reputation?" in the thread - 12 points by MahaPanchayat .

.

TOI is the worst paper in India. TOI stands for 'Tatti Of India' as Sid stated in some other thread. All Jats should discard the paper and go for some other better news papers. N' yeah we should take a legal action against TOI, they have to pay price for malign Jat community in vein which is in fact arguably the most patriotic community !

F$$k TOI !

I had posted the below comment on the economics times article. However, It has not been published yet as the comments in the paper are moderated.

Seems totally paid news to put the brave Jat community in bad light.

There is absolutely no connection between the Khaps demands and Dalits.
And yes, Dalits do not till (plow) any land. It's an absurd phrase for gaining sympathy for dalits and maligning Jat image.

great going, let the article be bombarded with hundreds of comments...ET will have to consider the protest...provided we keep our cooments logical and representative society as a whole...we are nothing but a victim of vicious propaganda that maligns our society...and highlights only the so called bad things...what about the good things like..our industrious nature.. and we have risen like a phoenix after haryana separated from Punjab. However the issue is larger and not confined to Haryana..jats and other societys in general should stand up against the divisive forces.

With the increasing number of comments, the article will start appearing under "Most Commented" section. This will fetch attention of one and all..

Bhai ye suruwat ha ......... Agar koi action nahin liya gaya to ye papers har kuch chapte rahenge...... So think about how to stop them.

Some time ago, I had pointed out to members, that this site was operating as a think tank.

People looking for view of jats on a topic, would be visiting this site.

This is happening increasingly often

The article referred to above, only confirms this.

Members are reminded, that this is a public forum, and accordingly should conduct themselves with decorum

Best regards

All these so called secula English media has been hijacked by Bengali Communists. Be it print or air, they are everywhere. They play a huge role in bringing UPA to power 2nd time and innovating the term "Hindu Terrorism". Everyone of these off-practicing non-official hindus are directly or indirectly being working with people of anti-india ideology (aka -Christian Missionaries and Islamist fundametalists) .

Seems like Media is all out to paint JAT community in black......I feel aftersome time these Media people will project Khaps/JAT's as second biggest threat to National Security after Maoism...!!!!

Indian Media Sucks!!!

Interesting, the good thing is that Jatland opinions are just not limited to us but the bad thing is that they are not correctly projected (well to me this is trivial issue, the important thing here is our community, the people and not what people think about us). Other than what the news agencies are doing, our Jat community is also responsible to an extent for all this mockery. Whether this is the issue of Honor Killings (actually egoistic killings), khap panchayat collecting 10 rs to free the murderers or be it demand for reservation (to get a back door entry and not throuh competition).

मानो या न मानो, चौधरी तो हम बस अब नाम के ही रह गए हैं. :)

Read this article...

http://economictimes.indiatimes.com...Jat-bull-by-the-horns/articleshow/5924137.cms

Singularly targeted on Jats..no holds barred...this guy is demonising Jats as if they are the daredevils and haryana govt must get rid of them..

This is really irresponsible and stupid journlism. But you can't expect others to explain our point of views if we fail to do so.

Anyways, they approved my comment on that article.

Yes in fact, even i pasted below text there and it is published now:

It's very unfortunate to see that one particular community at large is being singled out and demonised. Haryana a state which is high on development index is portrayed as conflict ridden state. The content of the article is malicious. In UP dalit upliftment have not happened even if Mayawati is reigning there. Irrespective of the cast and creed, a leader should be chosen as a CM if he garners support and is a capable leader. The Non Jat CM mentioned in the article..Bhajan Lal is famously known as architect of Aaya Ram-Gaya Raam Rajniti. His tenures have been most corrupt tenures and the development in the state was all time low during his regime. Haryana being a small state has largely been succesful on overall development, let us not cripple it by bringing caste factor. This article is as divisive as any cast based conflict. Unfortunate to see a journalist playing politics. At the same time, i do not rule out the problems that cripple haryana like skewed sex ratio etc but these problems are generic across whole north india and haryana is already standing up against this. Let the harmony in our little state be not broken from malacious intent.

I request others to follow suit and mark your protest through cogent and fair remarks, Let us not sound racist there and hardliner...vahaan pe bhi Gandhigiri ki zaroorat hai...)

How a biased report in TOI should be retorted when they don't publish your humble comments at their site :-

It's a fight. 'Indian first or Jat!' questions a 'thread' on a Jatland forum, while a poll surveys response to the call for intra-gotra marriage. The battle to redefine Jat identity wages online.

Jats online are figuring out the khaps' call to amend marriage laws by banning same gotra marriages. A survey on Jatland.com, one of a few Jat forums, on 12 points recently issued by a mahakhap panchayat, shows how opinion is divided.

So S(wine) Gupta has been whoring around for long to get some spice to cajole the schmuck , bald and stinky editor of **** Times Of India. I am sure you are severely glucomic to read the Identity thread's motive. You seem to be autistic in comprehending the meaning of battle and opinion. Your turgid mind[ if it exits in skull] got so excited at the glance of this portal that you couldn't understand the difference between panchyat and khap. Did your editor spank you when you wrote the word - Mahakhap Panchyat? Dumbhead, it is Khap Mahapanchyat. Oh no, how can he? He is the upgraded version of a ****tard.

Chief among the points are the call to amend the Hindu Marriage Act to ban same gotra marriages and diktat that one can't marry within neighbouring villages and khaps. Other points include temple and court marriages without parents or village khap representative will be void; khaps should be given legitimacy as family courts; Jats must fill up their correct names in Census forms and anyone who speaks against khaps will be maligned other main points. While 35% agree with fewer than three points, 27% agree on all counts.

There's vocal support for the intra-gotra marriage ban. "Hookka-pani band", and social boycott are the preferred forms of penalty though, not killing. "Gaon mein koi loan, visa processing ka inquiry" (loan and visa enquiries) should be rejected for the said couple. All this to 'set an example'. "First three points are good, rest is bakwas," writes one. Another says the khap's decision (to protect murderers of Manju-Babli in Karora village) is correct. He adds that the nation conspires against Jats, and the community must rally together.

So what did your polluted mind understand out of this univocal support?

The other thread on identity is, 'What do you see as your primary identity: Indian or Jat'. 'Indian first then Jat' gets a whopping 74% response, with 'Jat first then Indian' logging 23, and some finding the question irrelevant as well. It's a point youngsters are dealing with, perhaps, for the first time as one says, "Dharamsankat," and another calls it a 'tough choice'. The Jat pride is not simply sub-nationalism. Considering their sheer span of clans and sub-clans, their ingrained pride at being the indefatigable ones, their sheer independence and refusal to 'mainstream', and their much-discussed roots in Central Asia, it can't be easy to find the Jat identity hijacked by killer khaps.

....and what has hijacked your and your paper's conscience of unbiased reporting as a fourth pillar of democracy?

On the serious side, there are attempts to re-focus khap priorities. Writes one, "The khap panchayat has to take up relevant issues ... like dowry, female foeticide, government teachers not turning up for classes, corruption at panchayat level etc.

Were you joking in previous part of article with your pathetic [non]sense of humour?

The problem is young people are clueless about right and wrong.

Aaahhhh.... Here comes the fresh torch of zeitgeist in your words? Goddess of Right and Wrong has been sent by Angel of TOI to show us the right path.

Corruption, lies and illegal money are termed right at home and boasted about, right and wrong becomes obscure to their young minds." It's interesting that the forums have strict membership norms: you gotta be Jat. Further, one user expresses concern over "the fact that Muslim and Sikh jats" aren't allowed on the forum.

Alongside the identity churn, banter abounds about their gotra-fixation. One user writes about a gorgeous girl he spotted in Chennai with 'very Jat looks' only to find she's from Ukraine where Jats believe they originated. His online mates cackle, urge him to start a thread on 'Jat looks' and also enquire whether he found out the girl's 'gotra'. "Aur is chhori ke gotra boojhe the?"

Your obsession with Jats shows that you have been dumped by some Jat .

Get a life !!
