Jaton Ke Reeti - Riwaaz....

Hi,

I was wondering, we Jats have been following some kind "Reeti-Riwaaz"...esp more in Rural and sub urban areas... this makes us really proud that we have been following. But was thinking what could be the logic / rationale behind the same?

I am listing a few..

1. Chhori ne vida karte waqt gaadi ke tyre pe paani daalna...lugaaiyon ka geet gaana?

2. Chhori tein jaroor peese dena, Bhaat bharna etc?

3. Chhori ke gharaan paani bhi na peena?

4. Bujurg se saath khaat pe sirhaaney ki aur na baithna..

Please add more...and if possible, write what can be reason behind the same..

saaryaan mein nd riwaaz>>...pehley din saaliyaan ka rooti mein ghana namak ya loggard bhar key jijey tahi khuan ka majak ......:p;).

sandook khulwaayi,,dewar ka gooddyaan mein bethna
thaapa lagwan ka riwaaz
banney bethna,, teal taarna
koordey marna,,kangna khelna,,,buudhey ki dhariwal ki chadder dena:p,,,bhaat nyoond ke aana,,paatdey chadna,, bhaat ka badaa laadu dena,,,chorery hoowey pey thaal bajana,,, feeryaan pey mama ka choori ney lyaana,,,juttey lakoona.................. rey jelli aaley jaat,, ghaney ey sein riwaaz to......:)

good to note

Good thing you have started. i think if people participate in this, we can document our cultural traditions and i think this will defenately help in awareness about our reeti riwaz.

first of all i wold like to answer above questions:

1. we do not sit on sirahne with an elderly person to give him/her due respect.
2. parents do not drink water or eat anything at their doughter's place because it considered a 'karz'. Why Debt? because at the time of merrige they perform kanyadaan.
3. people (specially ladies) pour water with a kalash (lota) that is called sail karna, that is performed on many occations, not only after vidai. a kalash signifys so many things and it is considered the most aouspicious symbol in our hindu religion from the time of vedic age. it signify life, prosperity, heppiness in its fullest form.

we can devide our reeti riwaz mejorly into two heads:-
1. religious
2. social
Again social coustoms are mainly related with three main occassions in life:
1. child birth-Janam
2. Merriage- Shadi Byah
3. Death.


i will add on somthing to the list next time till keep going.

Dear,

Atleast I can reply to one of the queries :

Pahiyen par paani isliye dala jata hai ki purane dinon mein log baag
gaadiyon meil chala karte aur gaadi ka pahiyan jis dhuri par ghumta tha wo
garam ho jaya karti.

Dear Mr. Pawan Kalkal

what you have written may be the scientific reseason.
what i have written is the symbolical meaning of that action which is mentioned in so many ancient texts also related with rituals and religious social practices.

if you ask your elders they will also give you similar reasons.

chori ka doosher,teesher ar choochhak.
ar ek issi cheej sei bhai ya te kitte pawwe ye kouna....MODD.
kai sports bhi sein bhai......BITTI-DANDA, DILAM-DILL KUHADIYA(suna sei ke yu), ar bhai kimme bhi na paawe KHELANN KA te aa jao PAKDAMM-PAKDAI, KHULIYYA etc.

ar bhai SAANG( eb te band se hogge).
loogaiyan ka DHAATTA( jismein sirf aankh-aankh deekha karren :rolleyes: )

bhai anil ghanniye sein ke-ke likhun.
We are lucky and should be proud that god blessed us so rich culture....no comparison yaar.

Ek aur yaad aa gyi, jo yo THAPA ho hai nai yo hoya karta ek proof,
yo pahelde jamane main fingerprint ka kaam karya karta.

Kade dhyan diya ho to aapanle budhe Thape aale kurte nai baarat main te ulte jaate saath sandook main dhar diya karte.( Ek khaas baat ya bhi thi ek daaki kati naya kurta shimaya karte jispe Company ka chaapa (stamp) bi nyu ka nyu dikhya karta:) ).

Ek addition main bi kar dyun. Bhaat main NANA kadye nahin jaya karta,

hello all

dangi ji aapne sahi bataya aaj kaal moad jaise chise to gayab hi ho gayi hai. in my last memory i have seen moad in my cousins wedding almost 20 years back when i was little child.
- hamre reeti riwajo me shadi ke time me baan baithana, tel chadana utarna, ubtan, mahendi, mandha pujana etc to ladka- ladki ki shadi me ek jaise hi hote hai per kuch jagah inme antar hota hai jaise Chak pujana har jagah nahi hota.

kya aap logon me se koi bata payega ki jab kisi ki death ho jati hai or kanagaton me uske naam se teen roti hi kyon nikalte hain?

1.Ghar me khana banate samaya pahli roti gai (cow) ke liye chhodna. Jise rajasthan me "gai ka mandka" (small roti) kahte hain.:)
2. kharif ki fasal ki buwai shuru karte samay "halsotiya"

bhai sab kuch thik sae, thaum holi pe lugiyan ke lath arrr... ve latte ne bhigo ke maraya karen, (ke keh hai yaar usne) haaaaaaaaann KORDE bhoolge ke, kadi khaye se, bhagwaan kisun lath arr korde khaan ke baad kai din tahi aur kuch khaan ka jee ae hi nahi karta.
